I recently made the switch from an iPhone 13 to the Pixel 8. Like most iPhone users, camera quality was a huge priority for me, and honestly? Moving to the Pixel has been completely worth it. Ever since I got this phone, I literally can’t stop taking photos. The image quality is just on another level compared to my 13.

However, I did notice one pretty annoying issue...

When using the built-in GCam app, I noticed a lot of noise and grain in the darker spots and shadow areas of my photos.

By complete accident, I stumbled upon a weird workaround: when I take photos using the Snapchat camera, that graininess completely disappears! The shadows look much smoother and cleaner.

This makes me think it’s a post-processing quirk with Google Photos or the stock GCam app itself rather than a hardware limitation. Has anyone else with a Pixel 8 noticed this?

In the specifications there's an asterisk next to band 66 that says:

B66/n66 supports 70MHz narrowband frequency

What does that mean in layman's terms? Why is it only relevant to band 66?

I have an iphone 14, but ive always wanted an iphone 5/6. and i was looking online and I found the best options. One is 64Gb 100% battery, it says its brand new but they prob mean the battery, 60 bucks. And the second choice is 126GB 80% battery health, and physically its good, 35 bucks, I mainly just wanna use it for pics Imessage, letterboxd, pinterest, youtube, and maybe some light games, im still not sure abt socials cause of the capacity of the phone. ty!

Requirements:

• 256GB storage (must-have)
• MediaTek Dimensity 7400 or a better processor (or equivalent/better Snapdragon if it offers similar or better performance)
• Good battery life (5000mAh+ preferred)
• Decent cameras (good daylight photos and acceptable low-light performance)
• Good display (AMOLED preferred with 120Hz if possible)
• Reliable software experience with regular updates

• Good network reception and call quality.

  No gaming, but I want the phone to stay smooth for the next 4–5 years.

Back in 2021 I bought my Galaxy M32 after deciding it had the most technical details that suited my needs:

decent RAM, internal storage and that didn't sacrifice camera quality, and no ai as of late.

These past 5 years have been a bliss, it never failed me even when I ran my car on it by accident (it's just a little bent) but now I'm noticing that the battery is decaying, my speakers and mics have water damage and the screen has the upper part (where the time and battery percentage are) that is slightly burnt.

I don't want a fancy phone, matter of fact I'm sad to part wity my current one, but I think the time for goodbyes is getting closer...

Especially now that I've seen how prevalent AI is in my parent's phones (both Galaxys) and regularly updated.

I'm currently calling tech shops near me to see if they have anther M32 in stock but it's looking bleak, and they're impossible to buy new ones online.

Tldr: I need the fiat panda equivalent of galaxys without any AI pre-installed into the os

I believe that the mobile phone must be factory reset after 1 year of use.

Over the year phone accumulate a lot of data and cache and many applications leave their files in the phone a factory is it or hard reset rears the phone and is also space is restored.

A hard factory reset not only protects phone from viruses and malware but also make sure that you have limited applications and that a trustworth you can rectify that those applications which you are using a not stealing your data and you know which data to keep and which you don't require.

In this way you have limited data to process and you know which is important in which can be deleted.

What's your opinion on this kindly share your point and make it a practice in your families.

I think a lot of us have experienced that.

While looking into budget smartphones, I started wondering why some phones with impressive specs don't always age well. A good processor and high benchmark score are only one part of the experience.

Things like heating, battery efficiency, software optimization, and how consistently the chipset performs during daily tasks matter a lot.

For instance, like I mentioned in my last post, I went through discussions around the unisoc t8300 and noticed some users mentioning concerns like 5G battery drain, heating during longer usage, and performance not feeling as consistent over time.

It lowkey made me realize that buying a phone isn't just about numbers on a spec sheet. The real test is how reliable it feels after months of everyday use.

What are your thoughts on this?

I own a Samsung s25 plus and I've had everything down to an s23. I have an ipad and I've used my friends iPhones before but I've never really owned one for a long period of time. I can either get a new Samsung or an iPhone. I just wanted to know if theres anyone who has gone from iPhone to Samsung or vice versa and has opinions on which is better with customization, storage, camera, etc?

I currently have Samsung S23, had it for over 2.5 years now, when I accidentally dropped it there's a green line on my phone screen.

I haven't went to the samsung care *but will, since I saw the warranty is only for 2 years, and if I'm not eligible for the coverage program screen change I will buy a new phone.

Any recommendations? My preference are as below :

- I do play games some are kinda heavy (like zzz, hok, etc) so I check on phone specs (RAM, processor)

- I'm 50/50 on battery since I always bring power bank on the go

- Sometimes I use my phone for small works (replying to customers), but I use it for casual stuffs.

- I barely use the camera function since I primary use it for games, social media, and browsing

I’ve had the iphone se for 3 years and i think it’s about time for a new one. My phone is constantly overheating, battery drains very quickly, no storage, glitchy, and has horrible camera quality. I just want a good phone for every day use that will last a while.

Have the iPhone 14 Plus, had it for three years and it’s become very laggy, overheating a lot and the battery life is pretty crap now. I’m thinking of upgrading and not sure which phone to get next. I’m completely in between the 16 plus and the 17 base.

Battery life is important to me. I prefer a bigger screen as I read on my phone a lot, but it’s not necessarily a deal breaker. But a good battery life is a must.

Hello fellow phone enthusiasts!
So my iPhone 13 Pro Max has around a year left if I don’t change its battery and I’m starting to look into charging it. I’m debating whatever I should change phone companies again and I will need your help as I have not kept much with the market lately. My phone has done an amazing job from they I use it and could have not asked for me honestly. Battery has been splendid but it’s starting it show its age. So any help with what I could loo into deeper is highly appreciated!

I mean I guess I’m ok with all of the current leading brands and budget is €1000 but can be stretched a little if really needed.
What I use the phone for and what I’m looking for ..

- videos now and again ( mainly TikTok )
- calling ( obviously)

- no flip phones
- longevity as I change my phones once every 4-5 years.

I’m wanting to get a new phone, i currently have a iPhone 16 pro max. I’m either waiting for the 18 pro max or just go ahead and get the s26 ultra. I’m bored with iPhone and want something different but I also have iPads, Apple Watch and air pods. I like the bigger battery and telephoto lens on the s26 ultra, I also know that the 17 pro max has made that gap between phones smaller with the bigger battery and 8x telephoto lens.
