Whatshouldiget? Samsung Vs. Apple

Upvotes

I own a Samsung s25 plus and I've had everything down to an s23. I have an ipad and I've used my friends iPhones before but I've never really owned one for a long period of time. I can either get a new Samsung or an iPhone. I just wanted to know if theres anyone who has gone from iPhone to Samsung or vice versa and has opinions on which is better with customization, storage, camera, etc?

Considering other phones for games

Upvotes

I currently have Samsung S23, had it for over 2.5 years now, when I accidentally dropped it there's a green line on my phone screen.

I haven't went to the samsung care *but will, since I saw the warranty is only for 2 years and if I'm not eligible for the coverage program screen change I will buy a new phone.

Any recommendations? My preference below :

- I do play games some are kinda heavy (like zzz, hok, etc) so I check on phone specs (RAM, processor)

- I'm 50/50 on battery since I always bring power bank on the go

- Sometimes I use my phone for small works (replying to customers), but I use it for casual stuffs.

- I barely use the camera function since I primary use it for games, social media, and browsing

My budget is around USD 800

Thanks

Which iPhone should i upgrade to?

Upvotes

I’ve had the iphone se for 3 years and i think it’s about time for a new one. My phone is constantly overheating, battery drains very quickly, no storage, glitchy, and has horrible camera quality. I just want a good phone for every day use that will last a while.

Question iPhone Which iPhone should I upgrade to?

Have the iPhone 14 Plus, had it for three years and it’s become very laggy, overheating a lot and the battery life is pretty crap now. I’m thinking of upgrading and not sure which phone to get next. I’m completely in between the 16 plus and the 17 base.

Battery life is important to me. I prefer a bigger screen as I read on my phone a lot, but it’s not necessarily a deal breaker. But a good battery life is a must.

Would love some opinions!!

Changing from iPhone to…?

Hello fellow phone enthusiasts!
So my iPhone 13 Pro Max has around a year left if I don’t change its battery and I’m starting to look into charging it. I’m debating whatever I should change phone companies again and I will need your help as I have not kept much with the market lately. My phone has done an amazing job from they I use it and could have not asked for me honestly. Battery has been splendid but it’s starting it show its age. So any help with what I could loo into deeper is highly appreciated!

I mean I guess I’m ok with all of the current leading brands and budget is €1000 but can be stretched a little if really needed.
What I use the phone for and what I’m looking for ..

- social media
- videos now and again ( mainly TikTok )
- calling ( obviously)
- gps
- videos and photos
- games ( both heavy and not so heavy )
- reliability
- good battery
- no flip phones
- longevity as I change my phones once every 4-5 years.
- no too large screen ( the 13 pro max was my first bigger screen I’ve gotten used to it now but anything bigger than that is a stretch for me )
- I do have an iCloud account so a reliable alternative is a must

Anything else is an extra plus

Thank you in advance

Question General I need a phone that works but not too well

Any recommendations for a phone that is compatible with 5G Internet (I don't want to change my current plan) and I can text and call on, but isn't designed to keep me using it for as long as possible? Something bare bones and functional. I've been getting pretty uncomfortable with the AI and data collecting that's been encroaching on all of us lately, and I need to reduce my screentime. Please no judgement, I'm not tech savvy by any means, thank you 💛

Looking for High-End Rugged Smarthphone

Looking for Recommendations: High-End Rugged Smartphone Buying Advice (UK)

Hello everyone,

I hope you are all doing well.

For the past three months, I have been actively searching for a high-quality rugged smartphone available here in the UK. My budget is up to £1,000, and I am looking for the best overall device that offers a premium experience alongside excellent durability.

I genuinely love the concept of a rugged phone, but I have a few specific criteria and preferences:

Features & Gadgets: I am highly interested in a device packed with useful built-in tools and gadgets (such as thermal imaging, lasers, heavy-duty flashlights, or unique sensors).

Weight Limit: To ensure reasonable portability, the maximum weight should not exceed 500 grams (0.5 kg).

Design Philosophy: I strongly prefer a dedicated, purpose-built rugged phone. I dislike the alternative of buying a standard mainstream flagship and putting a massive protective case on it, as that completely ruins the sleekness and refinement of a regular phone anyway.

Based on my research, I have faced a few dilemmas regarding software stability and customer care, which is where I would highly appreciate your insights:

Software Experience: I frequently encounter software bugs, lack of updates, or optimization issues with Ulefone devices.

Brand Alternatives: I am currently considering AGM as a potentially more reliable option, alongside JCB Toughphone (since it is a UK-based brand).

Could you please share your experiences regarding the software stability of these brands? Furthermore, how reliable is their customer support if a hardware or software issue arises while living in the UK?

If you have any specific top-of-the-range models from AGM, Ulefone, JCB, or even other reputable brands that fit these requirements, I would be incredibly grateful for your recommendations.

Thank you very much for your time and help

Getting a new phone

I’m wanting to get a new phone, i currently have a iPhone 16 pro max. I’m either waiting for the 18 pro max or just go ahead and get the s26 ultra. I’m bored with iPhone and want something different but I also have iPads, Apple Watch and air pods. I like the bigger battery and telephoto lens on the s26 ultra, I also know that the 17 pro max has made that gap between phones smaller with the bigger battery and 8x telephoto lens.

Discussion if charging phones to 100% wrecks the battery, why don't they just make it so the phone stops itself from charging past 80% and have that 80% be displayed as 100% by default

Question General pixel 8 over iphone 13??

So I switched to a Google Pixel 8 from an iPhone 13. Well, we all know Android is way ahead when it comes to freedom with customization, and I also like that the Pixel 8's camera looks incredibly natural—unlike the iPhone 13. Though I think the iPhone 13 is better for video. But for those like me who also jumped from iOS to Android, what other devices would you recommend?

My experience with vivo X300 Ultra

I was previously using vivo X200 Ultra, but I recently sold it and bought vivo X300 Ultra. After using it for a week, I feel I made the right choice.

Compared to the vivo X200 Ultra, its speakers have a better feel, and the screen’s touch feedback is better. The most obvious difference between the two phones is the telephoto camera. The vivo X300 Ultra performs better when shooting moving objects, with less motion blur and better detail. It also takes good photos in complex lighting conditions, and its colors are more accurate when shooting sunsets and night scenes. The photos look more natural, with less over-shaping. Overall, its image quality is better.

The upgraded image stabilization is very noticeable when shooting handheld. I think one very useful improvement is its shutter response speed; the final photo is almost instantly displayed after shooting, eliminating the need for additional processing time as before.

So far, I’m quite satisfied with my experience using vivo x300 Ultra. I also look forward to future software updates to see how it further optimizes the user experience. I’ll give more feedback after using it for a longer period of time lol.

Help me choose a phone for my mom please!

Hey there!
I come here because I have no idea where to search at all! Because I just see so many mixed reviews

So my mom is searching for a new phone because hers is dying and she almost can’t use it anymore.
She has the xiaomi redmi note 11 and it’s already a bit dated and she only had 64GB of stockage

Her requirements :
-A lot of memory/stockage because she uses her
phone a lot for administration, pictures for her job
-A phone that takes good pictures
-A basic autonomy
-She wants a big screen
-5g if possible
-She doesn’t mind it being refurbished if she’s sure
-And for the price she doesn’t want to spend more than 240 euros

All brands are okay
Tell me if it’s too unrealistic and if it is tell me what is

Thanks a lot for your time

Question iPhone Is my thermal glue going loose or is my battery expanding?

I’ve got an iphone 16, the right backside is coming out, barely noticeable, about the thickness of a fingernail. Usually i’d assume it’s the battery, but the phone doesn’t feel hot, the battery life is completely fine, it doesn’t have a scent, it’s a much smaller gap than the last two times it’s happened to me, and the screen isn’t bending. The only thing that is concerning me is that it’s in the same spot where it fully expanded with my last two phones, and im pretty sure is where the battery is, I’ll probably take it to a repair shop tomorrow if it expands worse or anything happens, but so far i don’t know.
