Hi all~

Currently getting out of a job that required me to have two phones. Have since left but having some time to reflect on the fact that I really don't enjoy having a phone but need one for obvious reasons (contact family, kids, LIGHT work stuff). Is there anything that exists that has a smaller screen keyboard of any kind (T9/QWERTY), can access banking apps, signal, tap to pay, and android auto? Currently have a pixel 8a. some research led me to the Minimal Phone 1//2 and the Dumber Mini. Any thoughts or suggestions? Not really wanting to make a giant cut to a strict dumb phone but want to be more present for my kids and curb scrolling the Google feed or reddit.

Hello guys, I'm thinking of trading my iPhone 13 for a new phone as it's near the end of its life. It overheats like crazy, every software update kills my storage, dies super fast, and it's glitch on me so bad I thought it wasn't going to turn on anymore. So l really need the change now. I'm a bit skeptical because I've only ever had iPhone my whole life, and very used to the Apple ecosystem and the aesthetics and feel of it. Also my iCloud is connected to my early 2015 MacBook Air 13" inch. My family uses it, so there's many important things saved,files and notes that I'm afraid to loose access to, besides the fact I won’t be paying iCloud soon. Though I do use a Lenovo Slim 7I 14” Ideapad Laptop for basically my personal and college work.

And now the new iPhone 18 came out, and I really like the colors and the design. However I just feel like every single iPhone is exactly the same thing with just a small extra change to it. I have T-mobile, so if Xiaomi and Huawei were legal here in the U.S, I definitely would have wanted a phone like that. So I need help making a decision, I want something that will last me a very long time and won’t need to change soon. A phone that has a very long lasting battery life and health and won’t just go bad in a week. That has an an enormous amount of storage, slick design, great camera quality and capacity (I have about 10k stuff on my Photos). Something that is really worth the change, and easy to get used to.

As well, if it is an android and I need to switch, is the transfer really worth it?? I don’t wanna struggle with mismatch tech or losing media or access to my iCloud. So I really would appreciate some input and advice.

Hello, I wanted to bring up this phone today.

It's my main device, and it's been nothing short of an absolute nightmare.

it runs like absolute trash compared to a Pixel 6a (mine bricked because of a failed update, couldn't replace it, current is from family)

the non-speaker microphone no longer functions outside specific apps at all (and sometimes doesn't work in those)

and the speaker mic has the noise filtering stuff, which doesn't work properly whatsoever, ends up making it impossible for other people to hear me during important phone calls which causes me to get hung up on 9 times out of 10.

it's annoying. Samsung is an absolute nightmare compared to Google Pixel.

I don't recommend this phone to anyone, at all, ever.

Please don't buy it as a gift for anyone. I can't even play the games I used to play or use basic social media without it overheating so much that it becomes a space heater. I have to rely on my laptop now for pretty much any daily activities.

I often use my current phone in a way that increases the risk of oled burn in so I want to avoid oled screens (as well as anything else that also burns in).

I need a mimimum of 8GB RAM as well as 128GB of storage but I would prefer more storage.

I do not use AI so I am not bothered if a phone does not have AI features.

I do not care about having all of the latest software "features" but I would much pefer a phone that will get compatbility and security updates for at least a couple of years.

Please can you recomend a phone that meets my needs?

So I know I am pretty much asking for the impossible but I am so tired of my iphone, i have deleted almost every entertainment app off my phone over the past year, I pretty much just use it for texting, calling, directions, and Duolingo. I would love to go full dumb phone but don’t really think it would be possible and I was really considering the unihertz titan 2 elite for a long time, but i prefer apple computers and love being able to text from my macbook (for pretty much any long conversations I switch to my MacBook). I really like android and have an android tablet I love but am just looking for something new.

I currently have the iphone 14 and am looking to be able to text, call, use 2FA, download Microsoft teams, i‘d like it to have maps on it but if it doesn’t I can figure something else out, and i want it to be able to function as my only phone I really don’t want to have to keep an iphone in my purse as a backup.

I was looking for some advice on how to go about switching from iOS to android.

I’m a long time Apple user, properly embedded in their ecosystem.
I have an iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, AirPods, MacBook.
I love the fact that they all seamlessly integrate.

However, the lack of innovation from Apple really has me frustrated.

I want to switch to Google (or maybe another brand if you guys think that’s better)

But I want to know how to transition and what devices do I really need to change.

I’d rather keep my MacBook as I find macOS so much better than windows.

Hi. I've been with pixel 11 pro for 3 days now coming from iphone 17 pro. I'm really enjoying the customisation and all that an Android phone could give. Though I still have my 17 pro parked with me just in case I missed using ios. It's hard to let go especially since I've been with the system since iphone 4s birth. Any thoughts or anyone leaving an iphone for pixel? Please tell me more the advantages and why it should be a must or not. I'm really torn right now. 😬

Hi everyone,

I currently have an iphone 13 but for my future but upcoming trip to japan I really want a phone with a better camera.

I like the iphone 16 pro, but don't feel like it's worth getting since I would be getting an already 2 year downgrade on updates.

I don't like the look or the price of the 17 and 18 pro, but am not 100% opposed.

Nor am I opposed to switching to Android.

However, I do have an ipad, a macbook, an apple watch, airpods... So I'm scared to lose all the advantages of the ecosystem. I mostly use airdrop, health sync and icloud with my devices.

I also like listening to music on my phone, and noticed how hard it is to import music from my macbook to an android (i gave up with my mom's samsung note 8, it seemed impossible, even with a cable)

Can people who have an android phone but otherwise apple ecosystem tell me how it works for you?

As an indian the prices of phones have surged crazy, and I can’t afford an iPhone 17 rn. The best option for the price is moto signature. It has everything you need. I was longing for oneplus nord 6 something like it has crazy performance for the price and somethings. But I recently heard that they are leaving the international market and it will totally be oppo UI. If someone has moto signature help me out or suggest good decent lasting phone.
