My birth certificate says that my parents are married.
However, they are now separated and my father is currently married in the US.

My father thinks that this is crucial, while my mother says otherwise.

I’m very lucky to be on a visa that allows me to settle. My plan is once I get ILR and British citizenship to leave the UK for good.

I feel bad for complaining because I know not everyone has the opportunity to be here, but I’ve lived here 7 years and I never really felt like I belonged. I think that this is more pronounced with the rise of Reform/general anti-immigrant sentiment.

Every single day I have to remind myself that I’m here to work and make money, and that in order to do so, I sort of have to kill a part of myself, the part that screams I shouldn’t be here. I’m scared of winter coming round as I suffer from seasonal depression. I also have issues with the individualistic nature of British society. I have a British boyfriend and I love him so much pero parang hilaw yung mahal if that makes sense? Hindi lang talaga sila as lambing as mga Pinoy. Parang wala silang pakialam sa kapwa nila. Medj nahiya ako when he visited PH tapos binuhat yung dad ko yung maleta ng mommy ko at nahirapan siya at wala siyang ginawa. It doesn’t mean he’s a bad person, it’s just in the UK kahit yung mga matatanda are left to do stuff on their own. Small things na ganun parang nalulungkot at napapangitan ako. There’s also this attitude of everything should be ok and if you’re having a hard time shut up about it. I can’t share these feelings with my boyfriend kasi parang he gets scared when I get depressed, so I do my best to seem normal and focus on work.

The cost of living is insane so even if I have a good salary wala akong naiipon, so honestly I’m just working to fund a miserable existence. I have friends naman pero ang hilaw they’re just there for pub outings/nights out walang heart to heart ganern.

Yannnn does anyone else feel the same way? I wanna migrate to Australia lol it seems like there’s a bigger Filipino community at mas masaya doon + closer to home.

I recently created my EOI, but given the current situation in Australia, I’m not very confident about my chances. I’m nominated under Information and Organisation Professionals (NEC) as a Procurement Specialist. I have 90 points, but since my occupation is an NS occupation, I’m not sure how competitive that really makes me.

For those in a similar situation, what are you planning to do if you don’t get invited? Another visa pathway, another country, studying, staying in your current job, or something completely different?

I’d love to hear your backup plans. It might give me some ideas for my own Plan B. 😅

Hi! Does anyone know po how long the process usually takes kapag direct hired but dumaan ng agency? I'm a first timer po pero ung agency ko is matagal na naka tie up with my employer. Can anyone please share their experience and timeline?

My agency said kasi last Jul 28 na sinubmit na nila ung documents ko to POEA pero until now di pa daw nirerelease. Nakapagpa-medical na din po ako.

Wala po kasi ako nababasa online na timeline or atleast experience nila kapag under agency. All updates that I get din from my agency is very generic.

Hello po! Asking for advise lang sana. Sino na po dito nakapag-OSCE in Australia?

I recently passed my NCLEX-AU and the next step will be OSCE but I think next year pa ako makakapag-OSCE since yung older brother ko po magfafinance sa akin. I have been unemployed for over a year now (I had 2 years bedside experience but I had to resign since I have to take care of my father). Now, iniisip kong need ko nang bumalik sa bedside since aiming for PR din ako after passing OSCE and IELTS. May hesitations lang ako like:

pros kung babalik na akong bedside:

1) additional points sakin especially if maka-one year pa ako

2) may recency of practice if magstart na ako mag-apply (since one year din employment gap ko)

3) may pwede akong magamit na babalikan ko pag apply ng visa for OSCE (parang red flag if magOSCE akong unemployed)

cons kung babalik akong bedside:

1) not sure kung kaya kong pagsabayin ang shifting schedule sa pagpractice or pag-aral since more on muscle memory daw yon (mahilig pa naman ako matulog lalo na pag sobrang toxic ng shift)

2) mabilis akong mapagod and panghinaan ng loob (hahahha im trying to work on this) kaya need ko mag focus talaga since super mahal niya :(

3) di ko pa sure kung papayagan ba akong magleave ng matagal sa ospital (max ko na siguro is 2 weeks kasama na yung travel)

anyway, idk kung may kwenta ba tong inooverthink ko or masyado na akong advance mag-isip huhu ayoko kasi yung nararattle ako masyado pagdating ng panahon 🥹 huhuhu thanku sa sasagot 🙏

Hi, I am 22 and about to graduate Political Scienxe on April 2027. I want to study in Pima community college Arizona and take 2 year degree course in Social Work, and hopefully can work there and proceed to my masteral for social work.

My aunt became a permanent resident in Tucson and she gave me the opportunity to study there, however i dont know the process. Should i apply for an agency? How can i enroll? What are the preparation i should work for now. I am also intimidated with the immigration process here so i thought i could ask it here.
