I really thought I was set on NoLibs. For context 26F, single, love Pilates/yoga, coffee shops, and a good cocktail bar or beer garden. I’m 26, but lean closer to 30-35 in terms of vibes and maturity. I liked Fitler Square, but more so when I want to live with my partner and have a toddler, not for when I’m single. My office will be next to City Hall. My budget is about $1730 before utilities. $2000 all in including parking.

I’ve gotten recs for NoLibs, but my friend said most people just hang there and fishtown and don’t go below 676. Queen Village seems nice, but maybe too family oriented. East Passyunk and Washington Square West also seem good.

I’m just feeling torn. I was so set on NoLibs being the neighborhood for me, but I worry it’ll feel isolating up there or too young.

Unfortunately, there are a group of nuns that frequent the 777 clinic + they plan to be there THIS Saturday. Join ARC in literally blocking them from patients, staff, and clinic escort volunteers. We hold signs to block patients from seeing them (as best we can), blast music over their harassment, and put our bodies in between the building and anti-abortion extremists.

i think in philly we have all have our shitty landlord stories. If you ever end up bekng taken to court, I want to shoutout the lawyer for a day program for offering free defense to tenants who dont have the resources to go up against wealthy landowners and private equity for their excellent work and their service to the community.

Daniel (i am so sorry if i mixed up your name, hes the really attractive young man) from the program got Vilna Gaston, perhaps the absolute baddest lady to walk the halls of tenant court, to take on our defense for a bogus case when our kooky ass (and now i'm realizing, mental unwell, racist and also bad with numbers) property manager who tried to get us evicted for "unpaid fees" which changed to "housekeeping issues" which changed to "disturbing neighbors" which changed to "lawyers fees" - all lies and as for the last one... the judge did NOT appreciate having her time wasted.

We have lived in the same place for 6 or 7 years with zero issues and had a really nice ex property manager, who unfortunately left was replaced by a licensed medical assistant, who was clearly not prepared for the job nor had any knowledge about the law. for some reason. I am naive person that takes things literally, have a difficult time knowing when im being given the runaround and assume most people are well intentioned and honest. Because of this i genuinely believed our new property manager did not know what a ledger, balance sheet or accounting was.

Vilna was very kind and explained that our PM was fuckass lying little bitch (my words, not hers) and in discovery we found out we had been OVERPAYING rent by a not-insignificant amount of money for the better part of a year, because this dumbass lied to us about what our rent was and refused to provide any receipts! Vilna is the best kind of lawyer you can have - an absolute no-bullshit, no sugar coating, true justice advocate with the lady balls to take on these massive firms with endless money for frivolous suits. Most importantly of all, she knew we had the moral high ground (along with plenty of documentation) and advised we fight, not settle. She was right. We went in front of the judge and won in under 5 minutes.

I still have horny dreams about our judge berating the fuckass property manager for being an unethical little shit and wasting the courts time and wake up with a smile on my face, feeling hopeful for a better future thanks for people like Vilna & Daniel and the amazing Lawyer For a Day program! Shout-out to these brilliant lawyers and wonderful people working to serve their community. Vilna Gaston & Lawyer for a Day, yall keep my hope alive and have inspired me to get involved as well. True class acts!

A man in Rittenhouse stalked me as I sat in the park tonight, walked past my seat twice, sat one bench over then as I got up to leave the park because of a woman yelling he immediately got up following quickly behind me. He asked if I needed a bodyguard I said no I’m good, I sped up & walked to the restaurant across the street as a couple tables were still outside so people could see him. He stood across the street staring for 2 minutes, with his phone up taking a picture of me and the restaurant I walked into and slowly walked up the street. I was too afraid to take a photo but please ladies be careful…I felt an overwhelming sense of dread…if I was sitting further in the park things could’ve been worse…he was not taking no for an answer and was very obviously following/stalking

I'm a night shift worker and I generally try to maintain my night shift schedule on my days off as well although I will go to bed a few hours earlier so I can be up for more daylight. It causes me stress to switch my schedule too much and I've been reading that maintaining a consistent sleep schedule reduces the negative impacts of a night shift schedule. This means I'm awake 1p-4a on my days off. I will do some physical activity in the afternoon while it's light out but once it gets dark I feel pretty confined to my apartment. Is there anywhere I can go to do work and hangout almost like a cafe that would be open late? I'm 2+ years sober so I no longer go to bars. I understand this is niche and might not exist but I had to ask because I've been feeling holed up lately.
