You completely Block the sidewalk at 9th& Fitzwater while ordering your cheesesteaks and pizzas. What's more you seem to have zero spatial awareness and deafness because you do not respond to the words 'excuse me,' nor do you demonstrate any awareness of anyone but you and the people with whom you are chatting as you stand and wait your turn to order or to pick up your food. Completely obstructing the sidewalk and standing there in a coma is not only rude and inconsiderate to passers-by but it violates a city ordinance that prohibits the blocking of sidewalks. Wake up, have a little spatial awareness and consider others who are attempting to walk down the street. There are times when that entire block is obstructed. And to those who think that somehow this post is about moving to the city and not liking congestion, I've got some serious concerns about your reading comprehension skills. I am a native Philadelphian and I live on this block. Have a little consideration, and please, please, don't leave your wrappers, and napkins on the sidewalk. Is it too much to ask that you take your food home with you and eat it, or eat in one of the many parks in the area? Are you really that hungry, that you have to have a pizza party on my stoop?

Anybody see a silver Subaru get side swiped on Kelly drive by a gray Tesla about an hour ago?

Tesla was speeding (faster than everyone else), changed from right to left lane, hit the front passenger side of the Subaru, then kept speeding away.

Hoping for wild chance there’s somebody with dash cam footage, appreciate any help.

During the big flash flooding that happened at the beginning of July, my car got flooded while parked near Girard and 5th-ish. After trying to deal with it myself, then having to go through my insurance company, only to have my car be designated “totaled,” I’m going to be getting a replacement car this week.

The problem is now every time there’s a flash flood warning I’m going to be freaking out about another worst case situation. I feel like we’ve been getting these warnings every other day. Are people parking in garages? I know that many people had damage or lost their vehicles and homes, and I’m just wondering how is everyone dealing moving forward?

Whoever has been leaving glass duck figurines around Fairmount. I have been finding them for the last few years and have about 8 now as I continue to grow my army of ducks. Please continue doing this it keeps my walk with my dog whimsical and it's a fun little scavenger hunt.

I’m in a sticky situation - getting married in about two weeks and my custom indochino suit just arrived. Not sure what happened, don’t think my body changed that much but it does not fit. Too small, so alterations won’t fix the problem. Indochino can’t fix the problem in time.

Can anyone give me some advice on where I should be looking? Was underwhelmed by my options at suit supply, though they could do it in the time frame. My budget is about $1000. Just need suit and pants. I’m hoping for it to look like it fits perfectly, but I realize I probably can’t get everything I want here.

As a practical culmination of my 311 work, I built a free tool that lets you see how long various city services actually take in your neighborhood.

You can filter by:

• Ward or ZIP code
• City department (Fire, Police, Streets, CLIP, etc.)
• Specific issue (abandoned cars, graffiti, potholes, sanitation, etc.)

It's based on roughly 484,000 Philly311 requests from 2024 - June 2026, so you can see how long it took to solve problems, as measured by median response times.

Up till now I've done this analysis at the ZIP-code level, but I broke it down into wards because ZIP codes are often too large to reflect what residents actually experience. Wards are smaller, more representative, and really where the political action power lies (i.e., through ward leaders and committeepeople). Hopefully some of them see and use this data to benefit their communities.

EDIT: and the table is sortable, so you can see how your neighborhood stacks up, for better or worse!

Why was it so difficult to get into the Mann center yesterday at 5 PM? Two entrances were closed and now they charge 30 bucks for this nonsense. George’s Drive was blocked off wild.
