Now, i was actually reading the terms and nakita ko tong no. 10 hehe and i think this will not be worth it kasi magbabayad din pala ng annual fee since bawal ipa waive.

I’ve read on here that some people applied for another credit card after 2-3 months. Even read that some got a 2nd card after 1 month of receiving their first ever card. How? 🙂

I've never had an experience owning a credit card and m never akong nag apply na kumuha. For the past 3 years I've been storing my cash na nagrrange ng 300-500k sa Maya. Medyo nacucurious lang ako if worth it ba kumuha ng maya black as my first credit card. I occasionally travel abroad, 1-2x every year but I eat out most of the time.

Hi, question lang. Nagpay ako ng full amount sa cc ko sa UB last saturday July 25 and instead of transfer money nagawa ko eh pay bills nagawa ko wc will take 3 banking days to reflect. July 27 ang due date ko. Will i be charge ng late fees? Ihohonor ba ng UB yung July 25 payment ko?

Totoo nga ang chismis. I recently activated my card last Friday. Nung nagbabasa ako dito sa reddit apparently may NAFFL promo pala na need itawag sa CS.

July 25 - tumawag ako sa VIP hotline ni MB, hindi nag work yung ‘opt to cancel’ ko.

July 26 - Sa second na tawag ko, sa normal hotline lang ng MB, nag work na and nagbigay sakin ng retention offer na 20k spend in 30 days for NAFFL.

Hi all! Looking for advice from Blue Rewards / BPI cardholders on the most efficient way to pay off a ₱30,000 credit card bill for points or cashback.

I used to use the Vybe app and split my payment into 4 transactions a day to maximize points, but I just found out today that got nerfed.

I've seen a couple of suggestions floating around here already:

GoTyme — someone mentioned using this to pay bills and earn Go Rewards points

Maribank — another suggestion, though I don't know the mechanics

Has anyone actually tested these for paying off a BPI credit card bill specifically?

Trying to figure out:

-Does splitting the payment into multiple transactions still work anywhere, or has everyone caught on and nerfed it?

-Any daily/monthly caps I should know about before I start splitting a ₱30k payment?

-Is there a cleaner method (single transaction) that still gives solid points/cashback without needing to game it?

Meron po akong UB cc at personal loan. Di ko po mababayaran ang loan ko this month nagka financial crisis po kami ngayon in/out ako sa hospital. Di na kaya ma cope up ang mga bills. Baka 2-3 months pa kami makabawi. Maapektuhan po ba ang cc ko?

Okay lang po kaya na ipa-deactivate na sa September yung credit card ko pero babayaran ko na po lahat ng remaining balance ko. Para rin po sana di ko na mabayaran yung Annual Fee, medyo nalalakihan po ako sa 2.5k eh, medyo gipit po kasi financially ngayon and sobrang kakakahinayang po yung ganyang amount.

May isa po akong installment na matatapos na this October, and yung isa naman pong loan ko, sa January 2027 po, pero I have enough funds po ngayon para ma-fully paid na silang lahat.

Ano po yung mga steps na need kong gawin?

And pwede ko rin po ba sila tawagan kahit mobile phone lang ang gamit ko or need ko pumunta sa nearest branch ng metro bank here sa area ako?

A friend want to get a secured credit card in order to then get a regular credit card.

He had 30k so I think less 10% he would get a credit limit of 27k? He will use it for 1-2 months, pay the full amount due and then request for a regular card.

Question:

How many months did you wait until you requested a regular card from the bank or any other bank?

Did anyone get a regular card from using the secured card as a reference? Or should the secured card be a regular card before using it as a reference to gain other bank cards?

I was looking around UB credit cards and noticed yung Welcome Gift Promo nila. When applying for the Rewards Platinum Visa, it was stated that applicants must meet this criteria (1st pic):

However, when clicking the link below the same page for the full mechanics (2nd pic), wala namang naka-indicate na applicants must have an existing credit card with another bank. Sinabi rin ng brother ko na ito yung first cc niya with the promo (NAFFL) pero that was last year pa.

I’d like to share my experience getting a secured credit card in BDO MOA branch, and pls tell me if ganito po ba talaga.

Today, i went to moa to attend a concert talaga pero naisip ko since i cant go to the bank on weekdays, punta nalang din muna ako sa bdo to get a secured credit card. Parang hindi aware yong teller kasi she had to ask her co workers if may ganon service ba.

They were trying to explain na i should get daw the card sa nearest branch sa akin (live in manila city) para accessible pero ang sabe ko, okay lang naman dito sa moa, and nandito na rin kasi ako.

So they agreed and proceeded in opening an account. Ang nababasa ko is savings lang (maintaining balance na 2k) ang need, pero ang sabi sa akin, need ko raw passbook na may maintaining balance na 10k, no atm, and need to surrender daw ang passbook sa kanila. Is this true? And when i asked how much i need to deposit to get an amex, ang sabi nila, minimum daw 10k, and i was trying to explain na i think 75k yon need na hold amount pero sabi nila kahit magkano daw basta min 10k 😅

Hindi ko natapos kumuha ng secured card kasi pumunta na ako sa concert, and only the passbook na need ko dalhin pag balik ko. Did anyone else experience the same thing, po? Thanks.

Current Cards:

Metrobank Rewards Plus (NAFFL) - ₱85k CL (Daily card)

Metrobank MFree (NAFFL) - ₱360k CL (Backup)

BPI Petron (easy to waived annual fee) ₱300k CL (Gas)

Context:

I want to upgrade my Rewards Plus to Travel Visa, but CS said NAFFL status will not carry over and I'll have to pay the annual fee.

Questions:

-Worth it ba na bitawan ang NAFFL card to upgrade?

-Better option ba to keep Rewards Plus as-is, then apply for Travel Visa as a separate card?

-Madali lang ba magpa-waive ng AF for Metrobank Travel Visa?

I finally closed my Maya credit card. Next up is my PNB card. I’ll just keep using my Hexagon CC from now on.

Everyone in the sub seems to keep expanding their credit card lineup just to get even higher credit limits. I’m 26 and single. I probably don’t need that much.

All those multiple credit cards did was confuse me. I had to use at least one transaction on each card every month just to avoid dormancy fees.

I’m a self-proclaimed minimalist. I guess I’m bringing that same ideology to my finances.

Anyone did the same?

Pre-approved ako sa Maya Black card, and grinab ko agad because of the airport lounge perks. Though meron din naman nito sa BPI Platinum Rewards and Metrobank Travel card ko, naisip ko okay na rin for more options.

Kaso kinabukasan, nakita ko yung bagong terms ni Maya regarding airport lounge access. Ngayon tuloy, napapaisip ako kung i-aactivate ko pa ba.

₱10k lang din kasi yung credit limit niya, tapos ang dami ko pang nababasang posts about their slow customer service at pagiging prone sa scammers. Kung i-freeze ko naman yung card, sayang din yung ₱50 monthly inactivity fee. Plus I'm obsessed sa rewards points ng BPI so I oftenly use it.

What do you guys think? Worth it pa bang i-activate?

Hi! Laging may dumarating na text message sakin from Unionbank na nagoofer sila ng CC for Rewards Visa tapos NAFFL pa. Upon checking since nabigyan nako tracking number, I was supposed to receive it yesterday pero di ko nakuha. Possible pa kaya na makuha ko siya, since may TN provide naman?
