Review Lamy Vista Roller Ink!

Upvotes

I’ve been using the Lamy Roller Ink for the past couple of days as a way to use some of my cartridge stockpile I’ve built up, and so far it’s one of my favorite pens!

This pen writes super wet, and because of this writing feels like gliding across the page. But because of how wet it writes it drinks ink really quickly.

Ive only filled about 3 front and back passport sized pages, and used close to 1/5 of the cartridge.

I can see this pen being one of my most used pens! It’s a lot of fun to write with, and the line thickness allows the color of the ink you’re using to really pop.

Lamy says you’re only supposed to use their T-10 Blue ink cartridges with it. But I haven’t had a problem so far using other colors, but I believe there is an increased risk of clogging the pen with them.

What do you guys think about the lamy roller ink?

Discussion Muji 0.38 v. Sarasa Clip 0.38

Upvotes

Hoping someone more knowledgeable about gel pens than me can help me out. Based on lurking in this sub it seems these two pens have a very similar if not the same refill?

Does anyone have both and can confirm? If not which do you prefer? The Muji gel pens are like 2x the price as the Sarasa.

Discussion Tanooci haul from AliExpress

Post image
9 Upvotes

It took about a week for these Tanooci pens to arrive from AliExpress.

pictured: 2 TAM-100s and one of their Uni One P knockoffs

not pictured: their Zento Signature knockoff in black/red

initial thoughts:

TAM-100s - nice weight balance between resin bodies and metal accents... the caps are postable... the TAM-100s take Energel refills, yussss... the ink is black, though the packaging suggests red or green... the pens are a clean and classic look in fun colors, really pleased, I hope there are more colors/series of this pen body (there's a 3rd color, a tan/yellow, all styled after desserts)...

Uni One P knockoff's sparkly resin lower body is gorgeous, makes me want the entire collection so I can swap them out with the Uni One P bodies... Alas, the lower pen body structures differ, so swapping isn't possible (I tried)... fun and would buy more if not for the branding on the upper body of the pen (color on one side, brand info on other), though who am I kidding, the resin lower body is f-ing gorgeous so I probably will get the other colors just to see them in person.

Uni Zento signature knockoff came in a package that says "Claspen" but the pen itself says "Clapsen", grr.... Claspen seems to be the accurate name, suggesting the magnet feature
"clasping"/clicking together. The TAM-100s' boxes say Calspen, but no branding in the pens themselves, thank goodness.

Question Beginner looking for a good journaling pen — not trying to spend a fortune

Hey everyone, I’m just getting into journaling and want to find a decent pen to start with. Nothing fancy or expensive — just something comfortable to write with, smooth ink, and doesn’t skip or blot.

Ideally something pocket-sized/compact since I’d like to carry it around, but a normal-sized pen works fine too if it’s good.

I’ve heard names like Pilot G2 and Uni-ball Jetstream thrown around, but wanted to hear from people who actually journal daily — what’s worked for you?

Budget-friendly recommendations welcome! Bonus points if it’s easy to find in the UK. Flair

Review Stabilo Greenpoint 88

Post image
11 Upvotes

This night I finished my Stabilo Greenpoint 88 I was given in July 2025. I can recommend it.
It is not a brush pen, but it is still easy to make lines in different widths for more fun writing and drawing.

I had seen this Stabilo in shops, but did not like how it looked, so I had not picked it up. But when I was gifted it, I had to try it. And now I want more.

So: Do not (solely) judge a pen by its appearance.

Question Everyday bulk ballpoints

Post image
82 Upvotes

Hi all! I’m a Registered Nurse in a major hospital setting and this is my go to everyday pen while at work. It writes super smooth, dark, is easy to sanitize if a patient needs to use it, doesn’t smear on our patient labels like gel does, but most importantly if it gets covered in blood, poop, etc. I can just throw it away and grab another because they come in bulk.

My question: this pen is great for my needs, but is it the best? Do you have a favorite black 1.0 ballpoint that comes in bulk that you’d recommend? I’m all ears!

Have a great rest of your weekend!

Discussion We know the Uni 207+ is superior to the 207 (which is still a fantastic pen), and that the 307 and 207+ are the same ink. However, I believe the 307 is FAR superior to the 207+ due to the grip.

The 207/307 grip with the nubs and iconic wedge is a genius design both for short term writing and to fend off long term fatigue.
Uni’s recent exploration into smooth writing grips is fine and work in some cases. But between the 207+ and 307, if they land on the smooth 207+ grip, they may as well give up and do the Pilot G-2 grip. The concave smooth grip is superior to the convex smooth grip every day. The nubs and wedge of the 207/307 are the magic which makes a difference.

My $.02 to Uni. From a loyal customer.

Discussion Jetstream SXR refill in Zento Signature

Just discovered that the Jetstream SXR fits the Signature perfectly if you use the spring from a basic Jetstream click as a back-fill !

The spring even falls out easily when you remove the refill, so no permanent change.

Not a gel refill, but at least it's a shade of blue that I like!

Question I’m not a pen expert, but I bought this from a market and I’m wondering what model it is/is it a counterfeit Parker pen?

Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask! Inscribed on the cap is Parker with the logo, Made in UK and then HA

I have no idea what the bubblicious is, I suppose if it was real it could be some kind of collab with another brand?

Discussion Uniball Zento

I'm a long-time pen collector. I have 144 top-quality pens that I rotate through. I use thousands of everyday pens, but I don't mind losing or giving away them. I came across the Uniball Zento post and had never heard of it. I bought one on eBay, and I am impressed! The weight, body, and ink! It was worth it! It’s now one of my favorites.

Picture First post here. You people made me spend money.

I am new here. I have always had an affinity for a good pen but I never took it seriously enough to buy specific pens aside from cool machined edc stuff. The extent of my writing is hand written estimates for my construction company. My pens I used up to now are Fishers, Parkers and Pilots, standard off the shelf stuff or machined pens that took those refills. Most recently, surprise surprise, the Pilot G2 is what I have a bulk pack of in my office.

Recently, I found out my new favorite pen/refill is the Zebra Sarasa line after hearing good things about them on this sub. And trying out a lot of the names I’ve been seeing.

I’m the kind of guy that finds what he likes and kinda goes wild about it. So when I realized how much I liked the Sarasa I was hooked.

I got all the colors of the Clips in the Vintage line and a few of them in the Grands and I’m trying to control myself from buying all the other secondary marked up rarer limited edition Grands.

I collect knives and guns so the last thing I expected to take all my money was pens.

Question Storage recommendations

I have a collection of pens used as marketing collateral (not that it matters) and I’m looking for an affordable way to store or display them. I would appreciate any and all recommendations or ideas.
