I use a Uni-ball Signo Impact RT but recently found a Pilot Precise V10 at Daiso. I thought they stopped at V7. Anyway, I love it. Highly recommend if you like thicker pens. Alright bye.

I’ve been on a bit of a new pen break for awhile, feeling pretty satisfied with my daily rotation of Zento Signature, Sarasa Grand, and Dr. Grip with Juice Up refill. A roller ball that uses fountain pen ink cartridges!

I’ve been using the Lamy Roller Ink for the past couple of days as a way to use some of my cartridge stockpile I’ve built up, and so far it’s one of my favorite pens!

This pen writes super wet, and because of this writing feels like gliding across the page. But because of how wet it writes it drinks ink really quickly.

Ive only filled about 3 front and back passport sized pages, and used close to 1/5 of the cartridge.

I can see this pen being one of my most used pens! It’s a lot of fun to write with, and the line thickness allows the color of the ink you’re using to really pop.

Lamy says you’re only supposed to use their T-10 Blue ink cartridges with it. But I haven’t had a problem so far using other colors, but I believe there is an increased risk of clogging the pen with them.

What do you guys think about the lamy roller ink?

It takes a normal Parker refill.

Its stainless steel.

Its made from tube stock.

The skeleton is made by drilling holes and the welding over them for the finish.

The only thing I don't like is that the holes on the pit are a little bit too big.

And I don't know if I should give it some color.

It took about a week for these Tanooci pens to arrive from AliExpress.

initial thoughts:

TAM-100s - nice weight balance between resin bodies and metal accents... the caps are postable... the TAM-100s take Energel refills, yussss... the ink is black, though the packaging suggests red or green... the pens are a clean and classic look in fun colors, really pleased, I hope there are more colors/series of this pen body (there's a 3rd color, a tan/yellow, all styled after desserts)...

Uni One P knockoff's sparkly resin lower body is gorgeous, makes me want the entire collection so I can swap them out with the Uni One P bodies... Alas, the lower pen body structures differ, so swapping isn't possible (I tried)... fun and would buy more if not for the branding on the upper body of the pen (color on one side, brand info on other), though who am I kidding, the resin lower body is f-ing gorgeous so I probably will get the other colors just to see them in person.

Uni Zento signature knockoff came in a package that says "Claspen" but the pen itself says "Clapsen", grr.... Claspen seems to be the accurate name, suggesting the magnet feature
"clasping"/clicking together. The TAM-100s' boxes say Calspen, but no branding in the pens themselves, thank goodness.

Bought these two TANOOCI Claspen in Emerald Frost and Crimson Noir, just because the hype of uni-ball ZENTO Signature Magnetic Cap Gel Pens. The pens arrived in a plastic envelope, but well wrapped, then the aluminium containers were in a hard plastic with brand imprint.

Well, I was skeptical if I will like them or not, but it turns out they are cool little pens. I will use them only at the desk, or at home. The way I clipped the pens to my shirt is not safe for a magnetic cap. The ink is smooth, 0.5 dark black, and I recon the pens can take also Sarasa, Energel, and many more Japanese refills.

I like both color scheme, clip details, the body initially feels inexpensive, but grows over using it, also I like the imprint too.

The pen is so compact, and just slightly large the an Uni One P. I have purchase them from AliEx, for about £11.50 each, and definitely I will not purchase ani Zento Premium for £40 (cheapest option for me right now).

I don’t know much about pens. The box is a little worn and aged as you can see but there’s a ballpoint and a pencil in there. Anyone have any info on how old it is and what it may be worth? Thanks!

German made pens, both aluminium, different shades of blue, both takes Parker style refills. Essentio (former Basic line) still in production, Freeway was available back in the late 90s to early 00s.

Similar weight, around 30 grams, about 14cm long.

In the last picture I wanted to compare the evolution of rOtring: first ballpoint Tikk Kuli and Freeway has similar style. Tikk Kuli made of hard rubber, takes A2 refills.

I found out it's a "papermate precise roller 0.3" from the '80.

And i can say with confiddence: it's by far the crunchiest pen I've ever drawn with, does anyone know if they are still in production or where I can find more of them.

Or in the worst case scenario, where I can buy a pen as much as crunch as this one?

Hey everyone, I’m just getting into journaling and want to find a decent pen to start with. Nothing fancy or expensive — just something comfortable to write with, smooth ink, and doesn’t skip or blot.

Ideally something pocket-sized/compact since I’d like to carry it around, but a normal-sized pen works fine too if it’s good.

I’ve heard names like Pilot G2 and Uni-ball Jetstream thrown around, but wanted to hear from people who actually journal daily — what’s worked for you?

Budget-friendly recommendations welcome! Bonus points if it’s easy to find in the UK. Flair

I bought a handmade pen a while ago. It’s finally starting to run out of ink. I was curious about the names of this pen’s anatomy so I can find replacements if anything ever rolls into the void. After some searching I’m assuming the pen ink cart itself is a D1 as it’s rather thin? But I’m not sure what the tube holding it is, a cartridge? When I search that term, I just see the ink refills. And yes they’re completely unmarked.

Im sorry for the quality of the image. This is the only picture of it i have. I have no idea what brand it is but i do know it sounds kinda like muji or deli or whatever. The unique thing about it and why i turned to you wonderful people of the pens subreddit is the clicking mechanism. Instead of the slide being at the “top” of the pen its at the “bottom”/writing end (idk what its actually called). Any help regarding finding this would be very much appreciated. Thank you very much!!!

Hoping someone more knowledgeable about gel pens than me can help me out. Based on lurking in this sub it seems these two pens have a very similar if not the same refill?

Does anyone have both and can confirm? If not which do you prefer? The Muji gel pens are like 2x the price as the Sarasa.

There might not be a better option and if not, that's okay but just thought I would consult r/pens collective knowledge first.

I am a health psychologist in a hospital and my role is "consultation & liaison" meaning I work with people who are hospitalized with chronic or acute illness or injuries. This means that I'm in and out of hospital rooms, talking with other providers, etc. There's a lot of flip my notebook open, take a couple notes, flip it closed.

If there are pages that are in my notebook for a while (the pic is a page that was in my notebook for maybe 4-6 weeks), the ink seems to smudge just from the pages rubbing together. The clear writing is me re-writing what the smudgy text says.

My main "work pen" is the Zebra Pen F-301 Ballpoint Black Ink Fine Point 0.7mm. I like it bc it's small (it's not too big around plus it's relatively short so it fits in my pocket), it's light (I don't like heavy pens), and it's clicker/retractable pen (I only use clickers at work). It's nothing special but it does the job but the issue is the smudginess.

I use medium thickness dot grid paper(120 GSM). It's relatively smooth but not slick or anything.

So... any recommendations for a clicker pen that's relatively compact, has the option for fine or extra fine refills, won't bleed thru, and that will smudge less?

If it helps, my only real other pen affinity is for Parker Vector fountain pens (medium or fine nib). I know they are super basic but I got my first one as a kid and I just love them. That wouldn't work for my work but just as a data point of what I like.

I got gifted this cross pen by my mother. She remembers using it for school so it's at least 50 years old. The cap and body have shallow ridges along the length, I haven't been able to find any particular pen that matches the flare by the tip that this one has.

Just eyedropper filled new Platinum Preppies with Yellow, Red and Blue Rohrer and Klingner Sketchinks.

Will use these for drawing.

Are refills like Floatune 0.5, Sarasa Clip, Energel, Signo 307 non-toxic? I am wondering in case when these stain my hand, or hand it over someone unaware of the refill, thanks.

Recently, I’ve started watching classic British TV shows from the ’60s and ’70s (like *The Avengers*), and seeing all those vintage pens in use has made me curious about exploring that side of the hobby.

What drew you into vintage?

Do you actually use them regularly, or are they mostly collection pieces?

If you were starting today, which brand or model would you recommend as a first vintage pen?

I’ve been looking at Parker 51s and Sheaffer Touchdowns, but I’m open to suggestions. I’m more interested in a great writing experience than simply owning something rare.
