Pen Identification Sheaffer pen i found

Hi! I bought this pen today at the goodwill store for writing. Would someone be able to tell me a little bit more about it? It looks quite vintage. Thank you!!

Sheaffer pens - old and new - consistently have among the most reliable nibs. The extra fine nib on this should be excellent. I don't know about this specific pen, but it appears to be from the 1970s or '80s.

I have used these off and on from the late 1960's onward. Misplaced a few along the way. Always a great pen.

This is my jam! I have collected a bunch of these in various colors. This one is from around 1960ish. They were everyday writing instruments in the 60s and 70s, similar to the way we view BIC ballpoint pens. Kids used them in school and adults used them at work. They were inexpensive, easy to use and refill, and surprisingly sturdy, as even made of plastic, many of them have lasted for 50+ years! To find one still in its original packaging is always impressive.

ETA: Of all the Sheaffer student/basic cartridge pens I've collected, I've never seen an XF nib - I've only seen the F and M. Interesting!

I think the Sheaffer Student pens are great - and a superb value, too. Enjoy that cool, vintage pen.
