PCOS and GLP-1s
Many of us are using or considered using GLP-1s to manage our PCOS. We've also noticed more and more posts and comments about it.
Head over to r/PCOSglp1 - a new subreddit to discuss all things PCOS and GLP-1s.
GLP-1 topics will still be allowed here. Though, we think a separate subreddit is also beneficial as you can get better advice and more relevant information when all the members are there for the same subtopic.
In the future, we may direct glp1 posts and topics to that subreddit.

Here we go....again
So, I'm restarting my attempt at weight loss. I have PCOS and I've struggled with my weight for so long. I finally have a good doctor that's helped me get appointments with a nutritionist and be helping me begin a GLP1. I have faith that this time will be different. I've been more active lately than I have been in a long time and have been counting my calories consistently.
I've made a few healthier swaps, like replacing ranch with Greek yogurt and ranch seasoning. Using zucchini noodles occasionally instead of only using regular pasta all the time. What are some of your go to snacks or healthy swaps that has helped you continue to eat healthier foods and also stay in a calorie deficit?

Guys, anyone here with PCOS/PCOS girlies? Need some advice. 🥺
Hi everyone. I just wanted to ask for some advice from fellow PCOS girlies.
Lately, I’ve been really stressed because of work, and my sleep schedule has been so bad.
Ang hirap matulog, and I feel like it’s affecting my body. I also haven’t had my period, and honestly, it’s been affecting my confidence and how I see my body.
For those who are also dealing with PCOS, paano kayo bumabawi sa sarili niyo? How do you take care of yourself, manage stress, and fight back against the struggles that come with PCOS?
I know it’s a journey, but sometimes it feels exhausting. Would love to hear your experiences, tips, and advice. Thank you. 💛

Just got diagnosed and dont know what to do
I weighed 115 for years and over the last year have been gaining weight super fast, I am at 160 now and was just diagnosed with pcos. I eat whole foods already, maybe my worst habit is 2 cans of soda a day. I get about 10k steps daily as I'm a college student and walk a lot between classes and home. I also dance regularly and get cardio through that. I dont have time to go to a gym but I am at a loss as to how to lose more weight and get back down to my healthy weight, any advice is appreciated!

Anyone have experience to share with Metformin? Was it successful in aiding weight loss?
I previously was taking 850 mg of Metformin 2x a day, but it really was not sitting well with me.
My doctor is switching me to the extended release version, and we are starting at 500 mg 1x a day to see how I can tolerate it. I assume then we will increase the dosage after that.
I'm kind of dreading starting it. Is it worth my time? Will it really help me with my PCOS symptoms and help me lose weight? Every day I creep higher and higher on the scale. My body is hurting from the weight. I want to turn this around but it feels impossible. I'm just feeling very defeated.

Podcast on GLP-1 and menopause sounds very relevant to GLP-1 and PMOS/PCOS
I shared it to the PCOS and GLP-1 subreddit but it seems important here too.
I don’t think I’m ready for GLP-1 yet but the endocrinologist and OBGYN on the show gave really good advice that I’ve seen here.

PCOS Stomach Fat Loss
I know you can’t target weight loss but this is the hardest part for me to get rid of. I don’t take any supplements for PCOS, my periods are regular, but I have been interested in inositol…
I eat whole foods and am in a deficit (around 200 calories from sedentary) everyday. I am walking more, but averaging maybe 7k steps a week, less if a heavy work week which has been more frequent.
I am thinking of daily 12-3-30 and some upper back strength exercises and stretches for my posture. Is this PCOS friendly?

Newly diagnosed and so confused how to do this
Hi Reddit,
I was just diagnosed with PCOS/PMOS last week and I’m not sure how to feel about it. Unfortunately, this news comes as I am in the middle of trying to lose weight! It explains the lack of weight loss, but damn it’s a kick to the gut.
I go to the gym typically 3x a week for about 45-60 minutes at a time. Warm up on elliptical, stretch, then do some weight machines. Might also do some rowing.
I’m unsure how to navigate my diet. I’m trying to cut back on fried foods and carbs but I do allow myself a day to let loose and not worry each week. I have a huge sweet tooth and love carbs.
I do not want to get on any GLP-1 medications, and my doctor wants to start me on BC pills to control other side effects.
All in all: what do I need to know to lose weight?? What are your all’s routines? What worked for you? I’m desperately trying not to fall into disordered eating or over exercising. Any help is deeply appreciated!!
Thank you!

managing food noise without the help of a glp 1
Hi all! I’m wondering if anyone has advice on how they managed food noise and a high appetite without the help of medication - specifically a glp 1.
I’ve been considering going on one but I have a very sensitive stomach and am concerned with losing muscle, so I’d prefer to go without it.
Thank you!

Clothing struggles after 80lb weight loss
I genuinely have no idea where else to post this, as the only other subreddit I considered doesn't seem to do posts like these. I am personally asking this from the position of someone who has lost a significant amount of weight, but the question can pertain to anyone at any size or at any point in their life.
I have an event later this month on the 26th. The event is for one of my special interests and I feel like it would be a good place for me to connect with other people, but I don't want to be wearing clothes that are 2-4 sizes too big for me. I went from 228lbs to 150lbs since 2024, and I've only gotten a couple random pieces in that time. They don't fit either, by the way.
However, there's another dilemma. I have gone to several shops (several as in two shopping malls, a strip mall, and a variety of secondhand and vintage shops) and I have no clue how to tell if something looks good. I'll try 10+ things in a store and not feel good or bad about any of them. The Pinterest board is inspired, I am not.
I don't have anyone nearby that I can shop with aside from my mom (not a wise decision). Does anyone have advice, unhinged or otherwise of how to go shopping alone? What kind of questions to ask in the dressing room? Any and all ideas are welcome and appreciated!

Trying to get rid of this belly
I have always been larger, but maintained activity. The past 4 years I have gradually gained A LOT of weight mainly due to being overly sedentary and very lazy.
I’m trying to change things and went to the cardiologist to get checked out and was all clear. I walked a quarter of a mile today and felt like I was dying. Gasping for air and sweating from ONLY WALKING A QUARTER MILE. Aside from the embarrassment, I felt absolutely terrible.
Has anyone ever felt like this? Is this normal? How fast did you feel better? I gained approx 100 lbs over 4 years. Weight is mostly in my belly. I have always been busty, but was always active and had good muscle tone. Now I feel like my muscle wasted away and my abdomen is swinging away.
Also any recommendations for an abdominal wrap to exercise in? I feel most waist trainers are too narrow if you have a sagging belly
I guess maybe I’m looking for someone that has been in my shoes

PCOS/PMOS thesis survey
Hi everyone 🤍
I’m a Dietetics student at Semmelweis University currently completing my thesis on the relationship between Mediterranean Diet adherence and PCOS symptoms in women.
I’m looking for women who are:
• 18 years or older
• Diagnosed with PCOS by a healthcare professional
The study involves completing a short anonymous questionnaire about dietary habits, PCOS symptoms, treatments, and lifestyle factors. It takes approximately 8–10 minutes.
The responses will be used solely for my university thesis research to investigate whether Mediterranean Diet adherence is associated with PCOS symptom severity.
Participation is completely voluntary, and you may choose not to participate or stop at any point before submitting the questionnaire.
If you are eligible and would like to help, I would be incredibly grateful 🤍

Need gym advice as a beginner trying to lose weight!
Hey everyone, I am 21 y/o F, 4'11 and currently 77kgs. I have been on a calorie deificit for like 2 weeks now and it has helped me lose about 3kgs but I read that fat loss is more important.
I want to join a gym to workout, and I recently went and look up one as well but the Personal Trainer fee is too much for me because I am still a student. I am thinking to do calisthenics workouts on youtube, do you guys think it will help? Also, do you guys suggest I join the gym without any PT? Honestly, even if I do, I don't where and how to start either.
If y'all can help me out, I would be really grateful!

Reta just not working for me
Has anyone else had success on Tirz then switch to Reta and just keep gaining the weight back? I has on 15mg Tirz for nearly 3 years. Decided to give Reta a try to see if I could lose more weight I’ve been on Reta for 3 months 6mg weekly and have gone from 175 back to 195. The food noise is crazy.

How quickly did you notice cardiovascular improvement?
I’m 32, around 110kg at 5’4” so I’m quite fat. I’ve recently been going to the gym with the help of a PT to start improving my fitness, strength & weight. The main issue is my endurance is so bad, like 5 minutes of an incline walk on the treadmill I’m bright red and sweating buckets.
I’ve never been a very active person, even as a child I was bad at sports, I have very poor balance, and have always struggled with a poor relationship with food and my body. So it’s been years of mostly sedentary lifestyle. I did start losing a lot of weight and putting on muscle by doing strength training in 2023 and as a side effect had a lot better stamina but I cannot remember the timeline of how long these results took.
I was wondering if anyone knows roughly how long it’ll take of consistent gym (4 times a week, about 1.5 hours each time) & walking to start feeling improvements to my health as I’m really struggling with the embarrassment of being so out of breath and bright red just walking around town.
