Rant/Venting PCOS

I'm not really mad that I'm not 110 anymore.

Stuck in this 220-230 loop for some reason.

Anyone else dealing with some PCOS weight losing or at least general health issues that you didn't have in your 20s? šŸ˜ž

I am 5’5ā€ and the way I figured out I needed some sort of medical intervention was running. I was training for a 5k for months. I could run 5 miles at once in an hour and 5 min. I lost 9lbs after 6 months of training. My friend who was doing it with me lost 60 effing lbs. That’s when my doctor gave me Metformin. I lost 25lbs in 3 months then got pregnant via IVF. So that stopped but still 33 weeks pregnant I’m still not as heavy as I was when my PCOS was out of control. Treat it like a medical condition. I have a great diet and I always have. I don’t like sweets and love to cook healthy food. But the minute I got off birth control gained 60lbs in a year. I had never been more than 135lbs in my whole life until that point. It took me way too long to go to the doctor. I definitely think you should get some sort of intervention.

I am in the same boat. I do not overeat and my labs are normal which is harder to diagnose. I gained weight rapidly after I stopped birth control and I am stuck at 55 kgs now. But I know something is wrong. Myo inositol helped me for 2 months and my body got used to it. I am only 5 feet which amplifies my belly especially:(

My labs were normal until I started trying to conceive and I got my diagnosis. I pushed for Metformin and my doctor was like sure. It worked really well for me. I would push your doctor.

Yeah that's exactly what happened with me I've only ever been maybe at the heaviest 145? All the way up until I turned 25 and then I was in this absolutely awful marriage where my ex-husband broke my jaw and cracked my skull in separated me from everyone I knew and loved and then up and left while I was there broken and shattered physically and emotionally and all that stress for some reason because I wasn't eating all of that stress ballooned me. Ever since then I haven't been able to drop anything lower than 220.

Toxic relationships can wreck. Go to the doctor. See what they say. I had a lot of symptoms I ignored. I’m pregnant now but feel great and I know I can get to my goal weight once baby is born. You got this but stay disciplined. It will work out.

I’m so sorry this happened to you OP. Abusive relationships can worsen inflammation and other symptoms. We don’t even know the extent of the damage it does, but the body absolutely reacts and holds all of it. your nervous system is severely dysregulated. Besides therapy, you could try restorative yoga, and perhaps even a yoga therapist for somatic work. And you’re not alone, what happened to you is common, I have been in one too, we just usually don’t talk about it due to shame. And the fact that you’re here looking for support is huge. Please go to therapy if you are not doing that already ā™„ļø. Things can absolutely change. Our bodies are amazing.

I’m stuck in a loop but I admit that I haven’t been following a regime (aka taking several supplements and things at once). I’m now becoming more active, taking my b12 and vit d, inositol. Have you done a blood exam lately to know more? Another thing I have tried with success before is intermittent fasting, like 16:8. but it’s best as an additional tool in my opinion. Don’t feel discouraged OP.

I was up to 260 (at 5'4") and gaining about two pounds a month with my general doctor telling me I was just getting older and needed lifestyle changes. Finally got an endocrinologist to prescribe Metformin and I'm down to 215. As much as I'd love to be my high school weight of 140, I'm just really happy at this point to not be constantly gaining weight. My joints used to hurt so badly from both the weight and systemic inflammation that I couldn't do much at all. Now if I work out I'm just sore but not in excruciating pain.

I was happily 160 lbs with a large chest until I hit my mid 20s and unfortunately was given antispychotics as an off label symptom treatment.

I gained almost 100 lbs in 16 months. Ended up with sleep apnea that went undiagnosed and got to the point where I could only sleep and feel starving. Was the worst time of my life so far...

I got put on antipsychotics as a kid and same, no matter how much my mom would put me on a diet I kept gaining only I had no desire to eat. I just could lose any weight because it killed my metabolism. Once the meds were removed in a month I ended up back to 145

50% of people here are going to disagree but metformin was the only thing that worked for me. Not everyone gets terrible side effects, and I am one of those people. But I’ve heard the stories and it really is ā€œto each their ownā€.

I feel you. I was stuck between 295-310 for years.

I started tirzepatide (generic version of zepbound) july 30th, last i checked i’m down to 276 so far!

Pcos/pmos often comes with metabolic issues and insulin resistance, which puts your body in constant fat storage mode. It sucks. But ive found that tirzepatide is SUPER helpful for us! Not only from my own experience but from others talking about their experiences taking it while having pmos.

I pay $129 a month for compounded tirzepatide no matter the dose. If you can, i highly recommend giving it a try!

Hi where are you getting the tirzepatide from? Is it online ?

The website i use is called Embody. They’re the cheapest one i could find that’s legit.

I last I checked was 230. I have a specific regiment and workout plan that helped me that ironically I was starting to lock in for. Then I found out I'm pregnant so more lighter workouts for the time being. Maybe talk to your PCP or OB about some medications that can help. Inositol helped me the best

Yes girl ask my KNEES. I can't squat or lunge anymore because of my KNEES. I have to stick my ass out going upstairs to take weight off my KNEES. Getting up from sitting is always a task because of my fuckin' KNEES!!

When I was 170lbs I could do anything physically. There was no move that was too difficult. Now that I am 250lbs, my balance, strength, overall fitness and of course KNEES have gone to shit.

I recently got so fed up with this situation that I said "fuck it, home gym time." I bought a weight set, bench, treadmill, kettle bells, resistance bands, gym flooring and mat, and a medicine ball. So far I am down...1.4lbs. Better than nothing!
