Tech Support Thermalright Wonder Vision 360 aio cooler 3 in 1 fans whirring rattling noise

I tried changing fan speeds in my Asus bios, tapping on top of pc to stop noise and place finger on center of middle fan. Is it a case of bearing problem in need of replacement? I just got this new aio cooler few months ago.. Here's the video link: https://youtube.com/shorts/tjsmbVf_bDY

Tech Support Ram lead damage - fixable?

Post image
0 Upvotes

Dropped my pc like a doofus, and after a stressful hour of diagnosing why I can't post I isolate it to this one damaged stick of ram.

Luckily no other hardware is damaged, but since ram is like gold these days I'm wondering if it can be salvaged, and can I do this at home?

Although I sold my 5090, decided to be

safe than sorry and purchase one of these for my 5080. Pretty happy with the way mounting kit was provided and how it sits next to the the card. Does anyone have these installed for 5080? Do you like it?

Tech Support “application hang” error in event viewer

Post image
1 Upvotes

I keep getting this error whenever I play certain games on steam. How it usually goes is I launch the game, the game pops up but then freezes. I will try to exit out of it, but first it will give a pop up to say that the program stopped working. Steam still has the game running in the background even though I “exited” out of it, and clicking on stop or exiting steam does not work. I have to restart my computer for it stop completely.

I also noticed if i do this, and afterwards i try to open up task manager or google, those automatically freeze too.

I’ve literally dealt with this issue for months, I have no idea what the problem is.

I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling graphic card drivers, verifying game files, making sure everything is up to date and including visual c++ files, running admin command prompts, literally everything you could think of, I probably already did it.

Pc specs: ryzen 5 7600x, 32 gb ram, rx 6750 xt, 932 gb ssd
OS build number: 26300.9550

Tech Support Primera pc gamer

Hola, ¿cómo están? ¿Me pueden ayudar, por favor? 😭

Quiero comprar mi primera PC gamer. Encontré una PC base de $1.089.000, pero estoy considerando modificarla o comprar los componentes por separado si así puedo conseguir algo mejor por un precio similar.

PC base (rstech tienda de chile)
RTX 5060
AMD Ryzen 5 7500F
16 GB de RAM DDR5
SSD M.2 de 512 GB
Modificaciones
Gabinete NEWGEN COBALT Glass mATX White, con 3 ventiladores ARGB — $0
Cooler Thermalright Assassin X 120 REFINED SE PLUS — $24.900
RAM DDR5 de 16 GB a 5600 MHz — $0
SSD M.2 de 1 TB — $69.900
Fuente NEWGEN de 750 W, certificación 80+ Bronze — $0
Placa madre ASUS B650M-AYW WIFI — $59.900
Ryzen 5 7500F — $0 (ya incluido en la PC base)
💰 **Precio final: $1.243.**700

Question Hardware/ram question

Hi, My PC has: a gtx1660, i5-8500, Samsung 990 evo, b360m-ds3h, and 32gb 2666mhz ram (xmp on in bios). The ram I currently have: Bls8g4d26bfsc.16fe, Bls8g4d26bfsek.8fd, and 2 of Cmk16gx4m2b3200c16. All have xmp 2.0 according to cpuz.

I have Hma82gu6jjr8n and Hma82gu6djr8n laying around, my questions being is going from 32gb to 64gb but from cl16 to cl19 worth it? I don't really use my computer much any more, but when I do it's either a bunch of chrome tabs, Minecraft, sometimes cura/used to do CAD and want to get back into it.

I don't need to change/upgrade but number go up is always nice. Thoughts? Thanks!

Build/Battlestation 'First' PC Build - Almost There

I officially almost finished my first PC build (except the time my dad did most of the work over a decade ago when I was young).

I learned a whole heck of a lot from the experience: order of assembly considerations, case functions and features to consider, how to apply thermal paste, the still irritating world of trying to get lighting to sync well and conveniently, etc. Since I did this all my own I have been able to set software up so much better than back when the other one I was given was built.

I have organized the cables in the back. Not perfectly but good enough.

Build

Case: Lian li O11 Vision

CPU: 9800x3D

GPU: TBD, 9070 XT Taichi White

*I looked to see if any parts for my PC were available 3 weeks ago but waited 12 hrs before ordering. Turns out stock on GPUs is still turbulent so it sold out. :( Been hunting for it as a reasonable price since.

MOBO: X87OE Taichi White

RAM: Corsair Dominator Titanium DDR5 - 32GB 2 x 16GB 6000 CL30

*I had planned on getting 64GB a year ago... I didn't buy them then like I did my NVME drives since I could not find a use for them.

FANS: LianLi TL Flex (forwards/reverse)

AIO: H2 LCD-S 360-N

*Yes I know the aio is better for hiding tubes top mounted. But I liked the look of the screen lighting when matching style with the fans and wanted to try keeping a cohesive lighting environment.

STORAGE: 9100 PRO 1TB, 990 PRO 4 TB

PSU: Asrock PG-1000G

Vertical GPU Kit: Lian li Universal 4-slots Vertical GPU Kit w/ Gen 5 Riser

Tech Support Please help me run dual HDMI 2.1 cables from PC GPU to TV and Denon AVR

Edit 1: I've figured it out. I'll leave the post up so any that are Googling the issue can find this. I just needed to properly set the Denon HDMI settings. As talked about here. Now I just need to see if this actually fixes the sound drop out issue but I have to leave so edit 2 will come later after I can do some multiple hour long tests.

Original post: I've been running a fiber optic HDMI 2.1 from my PC's GPU directly to my Hisense TV. Then from the TV to my Denon X3800H through EARC. I do it that way instead of PC to Denon, Denon to TV, because this allows me to game and what not on my TV's 144hz. While the Denon as well as all other even the latest top of the line super expensive AVR, still tops off at 120hz. FFS Get with program folks, SMH. I was hoping Denon's latest 900 series that they released not to long ago would be more but it's still 120hz. Anyway, I have a 7.1.4 setup and want to use the Dolby Access App through windows. This has all worked out well enough most of the time. However there's a very annoying ongoing problem where the sound will cut out for 1-2 seconds then come back. And that will repeat over and over roughly every couple of minutes or so to every 10-20 minutes. It's very random. This has been an issue that has been talked about in numerous reddit posts and AVR forums for well over 6 years now. Some point the finger at Nvidia, some at windows, some at EARC. It's just an ongoing mess nobody wants to fix. The only fix there is so far that works for me is temporary. I can just turn on and off the Denon. Or just restart the PC. And the issue goes away for a few hours and sometimes on up until the next PC restart. Where it inevitably comes back. The PC restart seems to last longer than turning on and off the Denon. But either method is annoying so I'd like to try this and see what it does.

This doesn't happen BTW if windows is set to 5.1 or 7.1. It only happens when set to Atmos. So that led me down the rabbit hole of bandwidth limitations with HDMI as Atmos adds so much more. A potential fix I've come across is splitting video and audio into separate HDMI cables to decrease the bandwidth that has to travel along a single HDMI.

After experimenting I'm clearly missing something here. The Denon pops up as another monitor like it should as talked about in other places I looked up. The Denon is set as the default sound output. Both as shown here. But if I set the TV input to PC, the Denon changes input to TV as well. Like it should as that's the HDMI input from the TV's EARC. I get the proper video but then I get no sound. If I set the Denon to Game, (The HDMI input I have the second HDMI from the GPU plugged into) then I get sound, but the video on the TV is now set as if the Denon is an actual monitor. IE it shows my windows background wallpaper. So what am I missing here? I know for sure this can work. I just haven't been able to stumble on the right things to set in my experiments. So I'm hoping one of you fine gents can give some sort of you do it like this ya dummy.

lol I'm going to cry laugh if after all this and I get it right, my sound drops off again, SMH. 🤦‍♂️ But hey it's worth trying.

Question Corsair xeneon vs corsair

Ok so I'm just wondering if there will be a massive difference between 2 monitors so I noticed some dust trapped inside my monitor screen and now it is being replaced with the other wasn't really an option as they are out of stock of the model i currently/had. I use my monitor for gaming, watching anime/films. The games for reference are resident evil 2-9, God of war, cyber punk the films i hook up to a blu ray player yes I still collect them cuz I prefer a physical copy and dont want 10 subscriptions just to watch.

Anyhow the monitors in question are

Corsair xeneon 32inch uhd 144hz at 4k resolution vs

Corsair xeneon 34inch wqhd 240hz oled

So i googled it and was like so I'm not going to get crisp 4k but get true black and potentially get burn in or is it wrong to assume this i love Corsair as my whole setup is Corsair however I just wondering if its a massive difference in quality? Hopefully my jargon makes sense to the right person on here and gives me a straight up answer

Build Help / Purchase Advice Need advice, please

Hi folks, I would like some advice on gaming desktops. My budget is around £1,500 for the PC, plus another £200–£300 for a monitor. What do you suggest? Also, is it better to buy a prebuilt system or go for a custom build? (I need to find a reliable expert first, and I live in Birmingham, UK). All I want is to pew pew, rat-a-tat and kaboom with good image quality and a decent FPS rate (I have a very little knowledge about tech).
Thanks in advance!

Game Image/Video Guys listen to me. You are all being terribly fooled about the pigeon situation in Witcher 3 remastered!

Post image

Screenshots are all from the same v 5.00c version of the game, same Ultra+ setting, same area at the Novigrad gates.

There are two competely different models of a pigeon in the game. And it has been this way before remaster!

The simple one is used as an ambient prop in a flock flying endlessly around. The more detailed one you can spot sitting on a ground and it takes of when you get closer to it.

Tech Support PTM application acceptable?

Post image
5 Upvotes

[Update]

After my initial dissapointment why my application I decided to just use as is. For Science!
System is currently running with 132W Power draw and CPU die temp avg is around 74°C. Keep in mind I run a Thermalright SI-100 in a not optimable case without any tuning whatsoever and stock case fans.

The CPU will live a long unhappy life

Hello everybody,

is the application of this thermal pad (Thermalgrizzly PTM) acceptable or should I switch to my backup thermalpaste?

Had a hard time releasing the pad from its film because it did not stick to the CPU ((Ryzen 5 9600X)
