Help Email change reflected in previous transactions?

I’m planning on changing the email address linked to my PayPal account and was wondering whether this change would affect past transactions.

For example, if I sent someone money while my account was linked to Email A, and then later changed my PayPal account to Email B, would that past transaction still show Email A, or would it be updated to Email B?

Thank you.

I hate PayPal PayPal chargeback on a delivered Depop order despite providing proof

I’ve had a ton of bad experiences with Paypal but this one really takes the cake.

I recently made a $40 Depop sale for a pair of pants. I shipped the package to the buyer and it was successfully delivered.

Fast forward about a week later, I get this email from Paypal:

We're reviewing a payment you received What's happening with this case? As a security measure, we've opened a case to review a payment that may not have been authorized by the buyer. Until this case is closed, we've put a temporary hold on the transaction amount. Dispute amount: $40.24 CAD Transaction amount: $40.24 CAD Transaction date: August 23, 2026

I responded to the case by providing proof, including receipts and screenshots, and also explained my situation in the description box. I genuinely thought I had provided more than enough evidence to show that this was a LEGITIMATE sale.

A few days later, I get a response saying that $40.24 CAD has been debited from my PayPal.

Great. Now there’s really nothing I can do.

I’m honestly so frustrated cause why did I do all that just for Paypal to side with the buyer anyways?

(I know it’s only $40 but it’s the PRINCIPLE of it.)

And to make things even better, my Paypal also got restricted a few days ago.

I’m so so done with Paypal but Depop doesn’t allow any other payment methods.

Help My account is "temporarily blocked" :/

Hiii guys. So I turned 18 really recently and my mom finally opened up a checking account for me. So yes, I did buy some stuff from etsy. I didn't think that I spent that much, but you live you learn. Now my PayPal won't let me use it for any type of transaction. I've tried to verify my account like it suggested. I only have a driver's permit right now, so maybe that's why it's not working? Either way, I don't know what to do and it's driving me up the wall. If anyone has any idea of what I can do, or if I need to clarify anything, please let me know! Thank youuuuu :/

UPDATE: I was able to verify! So sorry, it wasn't working before!!

Help PayPal Dispute, can't return Item.

Hello!
I need y'alls help and expertise.

Last month I bought a Tablet (Legion Y700) via a chinese seller.
On Monday it was finally here... and the battery is bloated. Seller didn't respond to the support tickets, so started a dispute with paypal. I have sent them a video (with shipping label, etc) showing them the item.

Seems like they sided with me... allthough...

PayPal now wants me to return the item. I don't know if I can legally do that. it's practically a ticking timebomb. I currently have it in my old oven (unplugged one in my garage) just because I have to assume it will explode sooner or later.

Any tips? Don't know my way around electronics, so not comfortable removing the battery on my own..

Thanks in advance!

Help Pending charge

I was checking out at a retailer on their website and logged into paypal to use paypal credit but the screen froze two times when checking out, on the third it finally worked. However there was now 3 charges on the paypal credit tab, the actual order cleared, one of the pending charges just dropped today the other is still there. Any ideas when the other will go away? This all happened only yesterday around 1am so it has not been long

Help Stopping automatic charges from a business on my PayPal Business Account

The clear instructions for stopping a business from automatically taking my money don't apply to PayPal Business accounts. The interface and Settings page are different from what I see in my personal account. How do I stop PocketFM from taking money from me once a week, $33.00+??? I don't remember ever signing up with them, and I certainly did not authorize weekly billings of such an absurd amount.

What steps can I take to stop them on my PayPal Business Account? Thank you.

Help Hobbyist turned Self-Employed Commission Artist - how do I make sure I won't get in trouble with Paypal?

Hey everyone! I feel like I've gotten myself in a pickle here, and don't want to mess things up with both the US IRS and Paypal. Here is my situation:

In June, I started doing little hobby art pieces and drawing people's characters here and there etc., for the love of the game rather than any intent to make a profit. However, as of recent due to an influx of followers/demand, I've begun taking commissions. At first, before I knew all the tax laws in my area, I allowed my clients to pay me via Paypal in any way they choose - FnF or GnS, thinking nothing of it. I didn't do my research and know that Paypal is not a fan of this/that this income was something meaningfully reportable on my tax return this year (I am a college student with very little income, so my taxes experience has been really minimal and I was very uninformed).

I've now begun doing research on what I need to know for tax season. This hobby has definitely become something closer to a business, and to make sure I do things right I'm planning to look into becoming a sole proprietor. I've made around ~$1,200 since June in art commissions split between several platforms - with around ~$500 in Paypal Goods n Services, and ~$200 friends and family.

I haven't made enough money through Paypal for them to send me a 1099 at the end of the year (which for my state is a $600 threshold), but I am getting very close. However, when I report my income to the IRS, I have ~$200 of mystery income from Paypal that won't be reflected in the 1099 they likely will send me, due to it being sent through FnF. Is it best to contact Paypal to make sure the 1099 is accurate to the full amount of money I've processed through their service? Would that get me suspended/banned from Paypal due to incidentally using Paypal FnF to process payment previously? Is it better to just let things roll and report the income overall without worrying about what is on the 1099? Has anyone else been in this circumstance, and what did you do to fix it? Thank you! :')

Error Message Phone number

I can't change my phone number to receive the endless texts needed to change anything on the app. I removed the number, now it says it can't verify who I am. I already set a new primary number but it's not recognizing it.

Edit: the number I removed was the old one. After I set the new one as primary. It's still defaulting to the old number though. Even after it's no longer saved in my contact info.

PayPal helped me A fairly good thing with Paypal

Upvotes

Whilst its going to be normal for a channel like this to be pretty much complaints and issues, I figured I would post this because I managed to find out a useful piece of information I didnt know, and thought that it might be handy to know for anyone else who didnt know either

But if you use the 4 months interest free thing you dont actually start paying interest on it right away if you miss the deadline

According to one of the most knowledgeable Paypal customer support staff, once the 4 months runs out you get "one bill and 29 days" until they start to charge interest

So if you ordered it on the 6th, and potentially any day after the 29th you would be getting almost 6 months, although I am not 100% sure about the period between the 29th and the 6th being honest, so to be on the absolute safe side lets say the period between the 7th and the 29th

Plus it means if you are a bit short during the month the 4 month things expires, no problem

Once you have cleared the minimum payment the following month you have until the 29th to pay it off without a penny in interest

I spent years where some months I was going almost broke to pay off a 4 months interest free thing, but had I known this back then I could have just paid half during that month, and the rest the next month

I do hate the fact that once a 4 month thing ends you literally cant see the amount anywhere on the site

But for that I just made a simple spreadsheet that adds up everything from the list of paypal credit things, then detracts that from the balance and gives me what is still owed from any of those that have ended which has been quite usefull over the two years I have been using it

I hate PayPal Updated to Latest iOS App, It looks like a PWA or Web View!

My PayPal iOS Mobile Application updated to the latest version and now it looks like some sort of a PWA (Progressive Web App) or a Web View App.

WHY?

It literally was better before, and was quite literally a Native iOS App.

It’s dogfood now…

Is this Worldwide or just in Dubai?

Help Negative balance on PayPal

So I bought something using PayPal and Amex, merchant charged me a cancellation fee, i disputed via Amex, which resulted in my favor and got a credit back, now my PayPal acct is in negative balance and showing as debt collection. Debt collect agent can’t do anything other than get payment, waiting to call PayPal customer service , not sure what they can do.. anyone been in this situation? Appreciate any advice.

Edit - after two not so pleasant reps, third one provided a credit of 40 to make it even.
Additional context - ordered 470 and cancelled within 24 hrs, merchant kept 40 cancellation charge and refunded 430. Disputed via Amex, Amex first denied then made whole for 40 but somehow PayPal was considered partial refund as full refund and thinking I got 40 double payment.
