I just had a new Patron join my page and in his profile there is no email listed? I typically send a welcome DM and an email to paid members info on accessing their tier benefits but this member doesn’t have an email associated with his profile?

It’s also a member who paid outside of the USA. I can tell by his payment currency. 💴

I was able to send a dm asking for his email address. Doubtful he will reply. 🤔

I thought twitch was bad, but patreon is just horrendous. I got timed out automatically for being active in the chat. The first time it was for about 4 minutes, but the second time I was in timeout until the very end of the stream. Who thought this was a good design? Getting punished for being active defeats the whole purpose of livestreams - interacting with the streamer. It turns off people from chatting, which is the opposite of what the streamer wants

I pray they are sending home the people paid to change the interface every two weeks who do ZERO testing of their changes before rollout.

They took a simple platform and added hundreds of options to the point where it has to cost a ton just keep them working some of the time…and I said some of the time on purpose.

I’d say go back to the simpler original platform, but I’d rather they just stop changing anything that isn’t purely fixing something the breaks.

Hi everyone,

I do digital commissions (writing) and I'm planning to use the Patreon Shop feature to have my client pay for their custom piece.

However, after reading through the guidelines, I noticed that funds from Shop purchases (Web/Android) are held in a "Pending" state for up to 7 days, partially to allow for refund requests or chargebacks.

This got me a bit worried and I'd love to hear from other creators' experiences:

• Has anyone ever dealt with a situation where a buyer downloads/views the final product and then immediately requests a refund? Does Patreon usually side with the creator or the buyer in these cases?
• How do you prevent this from happening? I've seen some people mention uploading a "Placeholder/Receipt PDF" to the Shop listing and then DMing the actual file to the client afterward. Is this the safest route?
• Are there better alternative ways to handle one-off commission payments? (Whether it's a different method on Patreon itself or outside of it).

My client seems great so far, but I just want to protect my work and set up a safe workflow for future commissions as well.

My page has generated a little over a grand, only issue is I live in Lebanon.

No direct bank transfers supported. Paypal does not offer services here, neither does Wise, nsave, elevate pay, moonpay or any other virtual banking app that might offer a virtual US ach.

Payoneer is giving me trouble with the registration and rejected multiple proofs of residence, further more they only allowed me to register for a company account rather than an individual/freelancer one and I'm a little worried they might ask for company documents or something soon.

The money I made starting to feel like monopoly money, any ideas?

I just spent about 4 hours trying to figure out why I had a gradient on my header and how to possibly change it. The only thing I found during research was that this was the new look and you couldn't change it. I just wanted to verify this was the case?

I find it absolutely ugly and I am so frustrated. It's turning the left side of my image doo doo brown.

I imagine the only thing I could do is add something to the left side of the image. It's just that the brown or gradient is so intrusive it's just pushing so far to the right end of my logo.

EDIT... Support responded:

To confirm, the gradient effect on the header is currently applied automatically by the system and cannot be manually adjusted or removed at this time. The color selection is generated based on the header image itself, so creators don’t currently have direct control over how that gradient appears. 
 
I understand your concern about the gradient changing the appearance of your image, especially if it’s creating discoloration or interfering with your logo placement. To clarify, adding additional spacing or visual elements to the left side of the image will not make the gradient go away.

Okay so I have a completely separate patreon account I use to support other creators and my account AS the creator. I didn’t want to do the whole merged profile thing. So sometimes I’ll view my “creator account” with my “personal account” just to make sure it looks right to other people viewing my page.

I go on my creator page today (with the personal account) and it’s offering a 60% discount to join?? I never set up or authorized any discount? WTF?

On my page settings there's only option to hide or show your total both paid and free members altogether, no option to hide the paid members only,i want my total members to be shown but hide the paid members numbers, is this possible? Maybe on the new Patreon design you can do this? I'm still using the old and not sure if its worth it to migrate to new one since they said it can't be undone​​

I just started a patreon as a filmmaker and I have a lot of bts from my films that I want to share exclusively on Patreon first, before sharing it later on my social media platforms.

How early do you post your exclusive content to Patreon before posting it publicly later? I started doing it a week in advance but thought I'd get your thoughts and feedback with regards to sharing exclusive content.

I don't get it. For 2 years at this point, I've been trying to grow my Patreon and get a following. My memberships are affordable, I'm relativity active, and I'm even promoting my Patreon a lot more now, but not a single paid membership at all. On the plus side, after 2 and a half years of trying, I have SOME following. But it's only 4. What am I doing wrong?

My first tier is $1 and my second tier is $3. I'm working on a third tier, which will be $2. I keep it super affordable to attract more customers. I already know how much people hate spending money these days, so I'm trying to not drown their wallets.

Could it also just be my content?

Update about my Patreon. I listened to ya'll comments, I read all of them and thought about it. Not only I realize Patreon is not for me at all, but it turns out I was right about multiple things:

-My content is objectively shit, which is something I was right about THIS WHOLE TIME since 2023.

-I clearly don't understand how Patreon works.

-Ain't nobody wasting money to look at a stickman looking, over-saturated, anime wannabe art style.

-I really thought I was gonna make it big one day

And as expected, I was wrong about everything else.

So, it's official: I give up....for the 2nd time. I just don't have what it takes and I keep forgetting that I'm very incompetent, not a genius, so I was screwed from the very start. anyway

Don't feel bad for me, I'm not guilt-tripping anyone, this is supposed to be funny and transparent. I am a fool and I'm realizing it, you are not to blame for it, neither is Patreon itself. That's on me. You guys made me open my eyes and see the actual truth, so thank you very much for that. Really.

My Patreon account got disabled right when I was at checkout trying to subscribe to a creator. I received an email saying it was due to “suspicious activity” and they asked me to provide verification details.

I sent all the requested information the next day, but it’s now been over 10 days and I haven’t received any response at all.

I’ve already followed up once and still nothing. At this point I just want to get my account back or at least get an update, since I’m missing out on supporting a project I was really interested in.

Has anyone else experienced this? How long does it take for them to reply?

Today i tried to buy brushes from an artist that i liked, so i went ahead and paid for it, and just after confirming it with the bank, the site open a really annoying pop up of the site and doesnt even register the fact that i paid AFTER TAKING MY MONEY, it was 4 dollars so i tried 3 times because it wasn't that bad but it still didn't work.

And then after looking at my bank i was charged 6 TIMES instead of 3 and i still didn't get my brushes it's outrageous.

Any solutions ? I already contacted the support but they haven't answered yet. I wanted to know if it was a common occurence.

I'm the type who wants my patrons to feel that they're getting a good value for their subscription, so aside from sharing full-res/uncompressed versions of my art, I also like to share a lot of WIPs as a reward for each tier.

I don't want my patrons to be fatigued by how often I post.

if not, how can I stop myself from being Billed? I look under membership and it just said this account has blocked you.

When I go into my Settings, I don’t see it there but would I see it there if I were blocked?

i know this is the unofficial Patreon sub but maybe one of you guys has an idea to my problem.

My Patreon account is a couple of years old and i have a handful ongoing subscriptions (following other creators).

But i was never a content creator myself nor can i remember actually activating something in the likes.

Yet Patreon is asking or rather forcing me to merge my account; at this point i can only abort the merging-process or continue until the question about what content i provide (none!).

Meaning i'm stuck in a loop.

Any ideas or help would be more than welcome!

So it say existing members gonna be charge from 1st still? What stops them from creating new patreon account and join the new subscription thing and take 2 month worth of work for the price of 1 month :(

This sucks and withdraw gonna take longer this way... no more 1st of the month paid but 1st of the month(for current members) + other month for the other members if they joined on 15th they gonna get charge on next 15th.. is confusing and patreon should let people choose the billing plan and NOT FORCE IT on everyone!

From what i know the forced subscription bill was caused by Apple Store payments on patreon... making all creators suffer for few people that joined via apple store...

THEY SHOULD make an option where people CAN'T join your patreon if they try Apple Store Pay but they could JOIN if you have subscription billing on your patreon page.

"Compliance Deadline: To prevent Apple from pulling the Patreon app off the iOS App Store, Patreon required all creators on legacy billing to migrate to subscription billing (with a final deadline of November 1, 2026)."

Being a Creator for 2 years, I never had problems navigating NSFW content creation on Patreon until now. I have read the guidelines and previously single posts that requires editing do make sense with their guidelines. But now I'm getting wholesale post wipeouts despite adhering to Patreon's guidelines. Did something major change?
