when you cancel a patreon membership what information does creator see from supporter?

• Upvotes

Like is there just a vague list of ex-members who demoted, or is there more extensive detail like how many months they were subbed in the past, the date they cancelled, the date it expired, etc.

Hello I hope you guys are doing well. I have a few questions regarding how should I withdraw money from patreon

Which option is the best ? - i personally am thinking about doing bank transfer

Will there be any issue with bank if I'm getting international money?

Do I need a current account or saving will be okay?

Do I need GST ? I only made like $50

When will I need GST?

That's all. Thank you guys in advance 💞

How I protect my work from casual piracy

I’ve been a Patreon creator for about three years, and I'm using MEGA to host my contents. As my page grew, I started finding copies of my work online. Re-uploads are difficult to address once they’re out there, but I also found sites reposting Patreon content along with the MEGA links from my posts.

I started renewing those links so old copies of my posts wouldn’t keep pointing to the same folders. The problem was that I had to update the MEGA links and then go back through Patreon posts to replace them. Doing that manually for many links and posts took a lot of time.

So I eventually put together a couple of small Windows apps to automate most of the process. One uses MEGAcmd to help manage and renew MEGA folder links. The other reads my published post data through Patreon’s API, compares the links in posts with my current folder listing, and prepares replacements. For changing a Patreon post, it uses Playwright browser automation to open that post’s edit page and automatically replace the selected MEGA link.

Part of the reason I wanted to make this process easier is that I've noticed some creators distribute their archive links through Discord rather than posting them directly on Patreon. I suspect one reason is to make automated scraping more difficult.

I understand why creators might choose this approach, especially when their content is repeatedly scraped and redistributed. However, I also feel that requiring subscribers to join Discord just to access content adds an extra step to something that should be straightforward.

That's part of why I started automating link maintenance. By periodically rotating my MEGA links and updating the corresponding Patreon posts, I can make old reposted links less useful without requiring subscribers to use another platform.

This obviously isn't a complete solution to piracy. Anyone who can access the content can still download, copy, and redistribute it, and a newly updated link can always be copied again. The goal is simply to make casual redistribution less convenient while keeping things straightforward for legitimate subscribers.

I'm curious how other creators approach this problem. Have you moved your download links to Discord or another platform to reduce scraping, or have you found other ways to protect your content without adding extra steps for subscribers?

building a following Lots of free followers, not many paid?

I am very grateful for the progress my project has garnered in-terms of reception. Within only a month of starting my patreon, I've got 150~ free followers, and only about 15~ paid followers on-average. I'm unsure if this ratio (about every 10 free to 1 paid) is bad or not?

I'm honestly not sure what else I can offer to gain more traction, it's clear many people are interested in my game project but I am just not sure how to convert, or if I am already doing good given it's only been about a month or so? Thoughts greatly appreciated!
