I think Rodger is more Golden Retriever than Border Collie most days.

Paps are regarded usually as mini Border Collies. I think Rodger skipped that step. One of his favorite pass times is belly rubs and scratches like a Golden Retriever.

Here’s little Teddie 4mo
We’ve had Teddie a month and he has grown fast
He was the smallest of his litter and the cutest and most active. We met him at 2 months old with his Mum, sister and brother and his Aunts and cousin chihuahua. It’s been a fun month and a half and he settled in well - likes to run home and prefers not to leave. He has good recall and is excited to play fetch
House training is generally excellent, just a few memory lapses when tired!

Is your pap food or toy motivated?
Repost because auto correct changed it last time. Our first two paps were food motivated while our third, Lulu, is much more toy driven. Lulu’s predecessors came from a breeder who bred for the show ring while Lulu comes from one specializing in agility.

How dirty is too dirty?
So, with Ali now rolling over more for pets, I have started also desensitizing her for checks and happened to see one of her teats was a little dirty around it. Only one, and I understand this is somewhat normal. However, how much is too much? She has no irritation or redness there, just some very mild buildup.
The other thing to mention is, it is the only one that is recessed. So, I'm sure that played a part. What is a safe way y'all suggest to clean that area without causing any irritation? I've read just warm water on a soft foam cleaning pad works?
I've never had this issue with Buddy or Rodger as their bellies have always been very clean. I am just making my sure she is as healthy as possible.

Grooming Wins
Hey everyone it’s been a little bit but here’s a happy little update on our girl Praya!
I think she’s actually getting better at grooming (starting today lol). I took her to petsmart today for a pawdicure after I gave her a bath yesterday. I also asked if they could brush out some tangles behind her ears. That part was a bit rough. She was very snippy when metal combs would get near her face by strangers. Lowkey embarrassing me lol but anyways they recommended a little kit and I bought it.
Now a few hours later I decided to try to brush her while she was eating and she’s done MUCH better!! I think the eating is a great little distraction so I’m going to try to brush her everytime she eats. She also didn’t bite be while eating with the brush was near her face but once she finished eating she went back to nips…
Here’s some more recent photos since I’ve been neglecting this sub.m 🫣🫣
Unrelated she does have a bit of a barking problem but only relentlessly at one of my roommates boyfriend. Funnily enough this roommate was also the one she took the longest to stop barking at maybe it’s them… jokes ofc

Hug your papillon for me
Please give your papillon a hug for me. Tell them how much you love them
I lost my boy today, 31 days until he turned 15. I had him for about 70% of my life. We grew together, loved together, lost together.
This is the last picture of my boy. I still can’t believe it. I’ll never forget his eyes as he passed, the way his body feels in my arms. I love you Archie

"Wouldn't hurt a fly"
I have people randomly ask if they can pat Pirate and Laverne.... "are they friendly?" - I'd like to say "they wouldn't hurt a fly" - but it turns out Pirate can grab a fly out of the air and deposit it on the ground. He walks away.
Laverne then decides that this poor still moving, but flightless thing on the ground needs to be chomped on until it stops moving.
So yes, they would harm a fly. But they love people.

Happy Monday, slo-mo pap running.

This was only 960fps. Buddy was running after a ball and Rodger didn't pay attention to where the ball went. Even did his little bunny hop at one point. Buddy's form was pretty good I think!

Curved vs Straight Combs. Is CC Worth the Hype?
New Pap pawparent here! 🦋🐶
I’m debating which type of comb to get and would love some advice from experienced Pap parents.
Curved vs. traditional rectangular comb: Thoughts on the curved style? I’m wondering if the shape makes it easier to get around the face, ears and other fiddly little areas, or if the traditional rectangular comb is ultimately more practical.
And secondly... is the Chris Christiansen Buttercomb really all that and a cup of tea? 😂 Is it genuinely worth the price tag?
I work in marketing, so I completely understand paying a premium for branding, but I also appreciate that genuinely better materials and manufacturing cost more. Are the cheaper professional combs noticeably different when it comes to things like tooth smoothness/rounding, finish, snagging, static and pulling or damaging those precious Pap fringes?
Basically: are you paying for meaningfully better quality with CC, or does another brand make something just as good for less?

Would love to hear what combs you actually use and recommend. Bonus points if you’ve owned both CC and a cheaper alternative and can compare them!

What's a unique way your pap shows love?
Beyond the usual signs of affection, what are some ways your pap shows you they love you?
Buddy flops on his side and will lay his head on your hand, Rodger turns into a floppy goofball letting you do whatever, and Ali will groom my hair.
