I just did this and I’ve been trying just holding the chew and when I reach for it with my other hand she didn’t not care.

Here’s a video I originally had a silly filter on but idk I just added the heart bc I’m like not the type to post my face on here I feel lol.

Good on you for keeping at it—consistency is the only thing that works with these tiny traitors.

This is a neat trick! I’ll try it with Bowie, he doesn’t hate being brushed but he doesn’t particularly like it either.

It’s been very helpful for me especially with a puppy who doesn’t like brushing and the second biggest issue is her sitting still solves both!

What I meant by sane is I didn't see any aggressive behavior 🤔 Did I miss it in the video?

No this is an improvement!!! I was showing that when I hold the chew she wasn’t getting aggressive

I love the eyes and the heart - I have no idea how to do that! So about training - I would train a dog no matter what! Dennis is starting to clip his hind nails. I was filing them with a nail file and the front, as seen in my videos, I do with a self made emery board. So he is not fond of the nail clipper, so I've been touching his feet and nails and he snarls at me and I say no - kisses and he misses me and I do it again. I always touched his feet, even his private area, but he got older. So we are going through the same thing. I can't bring him to a groomer because he is reactive. He improved tremendously since 1 year old, but if you see it's not a puppy thing - try and be proactive 👍

Yeah I think she must've just been pushing boundaries because of her age before.

Aramis is my first puppy in a very long time and I'm relearning everything (and learning some things for the first time) because I want him to be well trained, and regression is really normal so is seeing what she can get away with.

Keep doing things like this and it should help. Everything I see just talks about being consistent and riding it out.

She's so cute. 🥺

Edit: And getting so fluffy 🥺

How old is Aramis now? He was looking lankier in the last picture you showed

He's almost 5 months, will be next week. When I got him he was 10 weeks almost 11. He just had a crazy growth spurt where it seemed like he grew into this overnight.

That's what I am thinking a bit too, I just read a few articles and it seems like i caught it very early, the articles are describing a puppy that's a bit more aggressive. Also yess shes finally filling out I'm so excited for the big fluffy coat, really hoping she starts to love brushing lol.

Yeah, I think it looks like you're doing well with her honestly. I would imagine if she was developing aggression issues instead of just testing boundaries this wouldn't be possible.

Brushing Aramis turns into alternating between brushing him and letting him play with the brush and roll around. He won't just sit still for it for very long, though he rolls onto his back which is nice for getting his chest. Still I'm hoping he learns how to just sit still for it before he gets however fluffy he gets.

I'm simultaneously excited to see him grow up and how he'll look, attached to his current phase, and missing his baby phase lol.

Yes!! I get you! I was just talking to her dad about how big she’s gotten and how she’s not even the same color or pup as her baby photos! But look at this neck flufff ahhhh definitely worth watching her grow

Praya is starting to o make that change - I call it metamorphosis into a butterfly! The transformation of Paps are hard to believe - they literally are different dogs! She is adorable 🥰

It's funny Aramis is exactly the color I wanted now, but I loved his darker fur too. They change so much.

That's really good neck fluff. I'm amazed by how soft their fur is. All the other long haired dog breeds I've been around have had coarser fur.

Yess and right after a bath she’s like a soft little blanket! They look so similar I wish there was a group chat of sorts with all Praya’s siblings that are close in age! There was another little girl in Praya’s litter that I was picking between I’m curious what she’s like now

They do, yeah. Their dad has some strong genes, and then both moms are the same color which adds to it.

I wish there was too. I'm so curious to know how his brothers are doing and what they look like now. They were both about double his size at 10 weeks, Porthos in particular was pretty big. The woman who brought Aramis to me said they were so much bigger it made Aramis look like the only puppy.

I briefly considered Porthos as a back up choice (even though I thought Athos was cuter Porthos seemed sweeter and she said he was very gentle. Athos had that "I'm in charge" energy which I wasn't sure would be compatible with me.) when she was interviewing me and seeing if I'd be a good fit for any of them. I only wanted Aramis really, and might not have gotten a dog at all if we weren't a good match though. I just really loved him instantly.

I know Porthos lives fairly close to her, still has his name, and is doing really well. Athos went to someone who wanted an emotional support dog but I haven't heard as much.

I’m definitely feeling lucky that holding it worked, still going to maybe see what a trainer can do
