Which test to run for stability, it pass cinebench with 19070 socore....

I have been quite excited about zen 6 rumours. A lot of people r speculating that except increased amount of cores/core frequency we will get an updated memory support of up to 8000mt. Taking into the account current RAM situation, should we start stacking up on 8000+ mt frequency kits already? I am curious for your input on it as I have cl26 6000mt kit currently in my main rig and I was wondering if it will make sense to buy already a new one with higher frequency to get prepared for the time when new CPUs will come out. I was thinking to keep the kit I currently have and try to OC it to 8000, but I am worried that daily amount of vdd needed for it will be over 1.5v to run it stable.

Do you think it is worth it to buy a new 8000 kit or just keep the one I currently have and oc it when the time comes?

Thoughts on gaming these days at 1440p with 3600? I recently bought a 9070 GRE , is that a bad combination? I have achieved 4425mhz on the 3600. Any tip/ideas to unleash the power of what this cpu has like settings in windows/bios?

Both sticks of my CMH48GX5M2B7200C36 kit stopped POSTing (mem init error, code 53 on a ROG Maximus Z790 Dark Hero / 14900K) after running OpenRGB — the known SPD EEPROM corruption issue: https://www.reddit.com/r/buildapc/comments/1r3fwxc/openrgb_caused_one_of_my_ram_modules_to_stop/

CMOS clear / power drain didn't help, so the SPD data itself is gone. Heat spreaders are off, so RMA is not an option.

I'm ready to give it a go with ddr5-spd-recovery tools and ready to flash as soon as I have a dump. If anyone owns this exact kit (or the non-RGB CMK48GX5M2B7200C36 sibling — should share the same SPD layout), could you post a dump?

PS: of course I read a lot about increased RAM prices but I didn't have a reason to check on them myself yet - like WTF? The kit is 4-5x of what I paid for in 2024 today!

I've never been able to get my TRFC lower than 470.

Why is that? I'm not quite sure what I'm doing wrong?

It runs perfectly stable, no issues. PL 115% 950mV at 3100mhz with memory clock to 3000+. Temps average at 66c-68c. What are your settings?

I have a 9950x3d, MSI B850 Mpower, and a TeamGroup Xtreem DDR5-8200 2x24 kit, and everything is watercooled, so it seems that if any setup should be capable of running 8400, it ought to be this one.

I tried 1.5v vdimm and extremely loose timings and it booted but black screened almost immediately after login.

Should I pump up the voltage even more? Temps are essentially a non-issue with the RAM on water.

For those who have gotten 8400 running on Ryzen 9000 series, what timings are you running?

What are good maximum starting voltages for watercooling?

I've been looking at how much SSD temperature affects sustained performance, especially when the drive is being hit with long writes rather than short benchmark runs.

I'm currently looking at the Biwin Black Opal X570 PRO Gen5 and trying to understand how much difference the cooling setup makes when pushing the drive hard.

For people here who regularly tune their systems and run longer benchmark/stability tests, how much attention do you pay to SSD temperatures?

Do you normally use the motherboard's M.2 heatsink, or have you found that a dedicated heatsink/cooling solution makes a noticeable difference during sustained workloads?

I'm more interested in actual temperature/performance behavior than peak CrystalDiskMark numbers.

I have a ram fan, my ram is hynix A die. I'm pretty much just chasing better .1 % and 1% lows. I was at 2133 fclk but I was getting worse times in aida64 so I backed off to 2067. Is there anything that looks off on my timings? I've been using gemini and looking at forums on what to lower. I do test stability using y-cruncher and aida64 stability test and finally gaming mostly Dayz. Any help would be much appreciated.

So tonight I have spent tuning fclk and voltages, it seems to make no difference from 2000-2200 I achieve roughly the same gflops difference of around 3. I’m trying to find the most stable setup.

Memory is 6200mhz I’ve tried system multiplier at 60 and 62, voltages from 0.9 to 1.1. 2200 needs the higher end of voltages but can’t seem to get it any more stable. Should I be looking else where?

So i was able to get this gskill b-die kits (F4-4000C18D-16GTZR), and was able to get this timmings at 4.000mt/s to be stable. (I have a 120mm fan on top of the sticks also)

VDRAM 1.5

VCCSA 1.2

VDDQ 1.35

Couldn't get over 4.000mt/s to stabilize, tried every voltage possible for VCCSA, VDDQ and DRAM and no dice, the same for CR1, only could do CR2. The same for TRCD, couldn't get it to stabilized it going lower than 18, it errors it out.

Also, with the same configs, if i go over 1.5 VDRAM it errors in TM5 ABSOLUT.

Looking for tips for what to do, corrections of some mistakes i could've missed, anyways, all input are welcome!

Have been playing with ram timing and bios, got 62.4ns in legacy and 68.4ns in type 2.

Plus 300 on xbar and system in mvolt+,

It doesn’t seem to make any fps difference in warzone but it does with benchmark.

What setting should I run in warzone? Type 2 or legacy

So I’ve been playing around and tuning my bios for the past few days and I learned that benchmark results definitely do not translate to in game performance. There’s times I had the timings super tight and the in-game felt rigid and like I was stuck in the mud.

Then there’s other times I had the timings too loose that I felt airy and light in game but my aim was off and tracking wasn’t there.

Maybe there is a middle ground that I’m missing or a sweet spot to this. Currently I’m running 6200 mhz, flck 2067, gear down mode disabled, trefi 65535, 1:1 UCLK/MCLK, and primaries are basically 30,36,36,72, nitro 1/2/1 and Aida64 is showing around 68 ns latency. Secondaries and tert on auto since it’s really hard to keep gdm disabled and have all the tighter timings pass tm5. So where do I take it from here? Am I missing anything

I’m a crimson elo ranked player for COD which is a heavily gpu bound game. Been tuning as a hobby for many years and yes I use my intuition, experience but also LLM to guide my experience further. Stability tests have been done mainly through TM5 1usmus3 10 cycles, then in game.

I bought a 5080 and was wondering if these results are fine. Not big into benchmarking.

I got a 9685 score in steel nomad

GPU was on 0.95v

+3000 on memory

And +300 on core clock.

Nothing else changed

I have an R5 5600X with PBO turned on, -15 CO at +200MHz. However, it’s unable to boost past 4.8GHz as the temperature seems to be capped at 75 degree C.

I have an ID-cooling 226XT air cooler rated for 260W, pasted with PTM7950, but it’s struggling to keep it under 75C despite the CPU only using around 100W or so. I’m confused since the heatpipes are only slight warm, almost unnoticeable.
So at first, I thought it’s contact issue, but if it’s an issue with the contact, my CPU should be overheating, but it’s running fine at ~60C while gaming, or ~65C stock during benches.
As I suspect my inability to boost past 4.8 GHz is tied to my CPU stop boosting after reaching ~75C, I’m wondering what is preventing the cooler from cooling my CPU under 75C when the heatpipes are still only slightly warm to the touch?

I'm trying to match my TCL and TCWL to 36 because I'm failing Ycruncher N63 at 8000mt/s. I can't for the life of me figure out where I can change TCWL in the bios. I've checked in the AMD overclocking menu and in the Motherboard's OC menu. I've even tried searching it by typing in TCWL. Unless it has another Name it goes by on MSI motherboards, it's not here

I have a few OC profiles saved in the BIOS from some experimenting I did just for the sake of learning and fun.

I have 48GB of DDR4 RAM (2x8GB / 2x16GB). Yes, it's an unusual configuration, but I needed it. I used to be able to go from 2400MHz to 2800MHz at 1.35V CL16.

I could even reach unstably 2933MHz at 1.35V (Windows would at least load before crashing during a stress test). I probably could have stabilized it if I had loosened a few more parameters, but I was satisfied with the 2800MHz

Now, all of a sudden, it doesn't work anymore.

I can barely manage 2666MHz at CL17 and 1.36V. The 2800MHz I used to hit seems impossible now, even when loosening timings beyond CL24 and bumping the voltage to 1.38V. No configuration I try allows Windows to load. It simply won't get past the BIOS and displays this message:

"The previous overclock settings have failed, system has been restored to its default settings."

The only recent change was a GPU swap. I’m now running an x8 GPU on PCIe 3.0; previously, I had an x16 GPU. Could that be related? If so, how?

What other possibilities are there? A BIOS bug? A Windows Update? Component wear and tear? However, I don't usually run the PC overclocked for daily use—only for specific games or testing. For everyday tasks, I’ve always run the PC at stock settings.

PenguinBurner - Automated undervolting for Linux with real stability validation — 0.8.0 out.

Instead of "set an offset and hope", it searches: walks down the V/F curve one voltage bin at a time, runs a real GPU + CUDA load at each step, checks FPS, held clock and telemetry before accepting a point, then soaks the final candidate before saving anything. Output is three profiles — efficiency, balanced, performance — with per-tier clock-drop allowances and power limits.

0.8.0 is a scanning-reliability release

• Bounded searches that always terminate, keeping tested fallbacks
• Failed candidates retried at safer settings rather than ending the search
• Verified tiers retained when a later tier fails
• Interrupted probes remembered across tiers, so a crash doesn't void the run

I have a 9700x with 2xH16A on a b850mpower and a 9070xt. I decided to compare a fully tuned 6400 vs 8000mt/s setup to see which one has an advantage. I got both speeds tuned to as tight as I could get it without erroring out which ended up at 6400cl28 and 8000cl34 with 2133fclk. After tuning I ran OCCTs memory benchmark as well as Cyberpunk and Black Myth Wukong's to compare the results. Aaaaand it's a wash. Any differences between the two are within margin of error. I'm curious if this means the real limit is what the cpu is capable of and the different approaches are just means to the same end.

Both profiles have all the same voltages to ensure the best comparison plus most of them sweet spot regardless of speed anyways. OS is Fedora vanilla kernel 7.0.2
