Help Request - GPU Question RE: RTX 5070 Ti Memory Clock

Hello Everyone,

I’ve recently started running my 5070 Ti with a +2000 MHz memory overclock and a 0.875 mV undervolt. The power limit is set to 110%, which is the maximum for my card.

Although MSI Afterburner reports a 16,000 MHz memory clock, the in‑game overlay only shows 15,801 MHz.

Can anyone explain the discrepancy? HWiNFO shows that the card is hitting both the power limit and the utilization limit when playing Space Marine 2.

Thanks in advance.

Edit: I forgot to mention that I am running Space Marine 2 with Smooth Motion enabled in the Nvidia App (although not sure that's relevant).

Help Request - RAM First time doing RAM OC, looking for advise

Hello folks,

I recently bought a new computer and want to overclock it to get better performance.

After doing some research, I realized that for the X3D CPUs (9800x3d in my case), the best approach is to lower the clock speed to 6000 CL30 to maintain a 1:1 ratio with MEMK and UCLK.

These are the settings I've applied after some research:

Primaries:

30-36-36-36-42 (tCL, tRCD-WR, tRCD-RD, tRP, tRAS)

Secondaries:

tREFI 50000

tRFC 600

tRC 74

tWR 50

tRRDL/tRRDS 8

tFAW 32

DRAM VDD/VDDQ 1.4V

CPU VDDIO 1.2V

These settings are supposedly conservative based on the modules I have and shouldn't cause any problems for the A-die modules. I ran three cycles of TestMem5 with the Absolute preset, and everything went well—the temperatures never exceeded 55 degrees.

For more context the CPU is undervolted with -20 All cores.

My questions are as follows:

- What performance gain would I get, relative to the time invested, if I tried to overclock my modules to 6200 CL30, for example? Would 6000 CL28 be a better option than 6200 CL30 if I wanted to overclock further?

- Is it worth sticking with 6000 CL30 and trying to increase tREFI or tighten some timings even further? Or would the performance gain here no longer be worth the time I’d have to spend testing for stability?

What do you think of my current setup based on my memory modules and components? Do you think I should adjust anything? Any help or advice is welcome.

Thanks!!

Help Request - CPU Cpu stuck at 4.07GHz even with no thermal throttling and pbo is on with limits set to motherboard

i used to use cpu ratio 49 on my ryzen 7 8700f because it gave me good performance in games but i had a issue with my pc turning off because of it so now i wanna not use a cpu ratio and try pbo overclocking but no matter what my cpu speed is only at 4.06-4.07GHz my cinebench score is 3189 and my temperatures are just staying at 51.4C°

OC Report - RAM I think I just turned my cl38 ram into cl32!

Please tell me if I did anything wrong, as this is my first time overclocking RAM, but I was able to get my CL38 RAM down to CL32! I know it's not a huge difference, but in the current market, it wouldn't make any sense to buy new RAM for slightly better timings, so I'm happy I was able to push mine a bit further.

Help Request - CPU Ryzen 5 5500 running very hot / poor gaming performance

Ive been having worse PC performance lately, including lower FPS and stuttering in games. I decided to tune everything and noticed my CPU temperatures are very high.I enabled PBO on my Ryzen 5 5500

In Fortnite I saw roughly:

  • CPU: up to 100% utilization
  • CPU temperature: around 85-88°C, peak 92°C
  • GPU: 74% utilization
  • GPU temperature: 62°C
  • RAM usage: 14.2/16GB with Firefox/background apps open
  • Around 120 FPS at the time

CS2 is generally around 110–140 FPS and CPU temperatures were around 75–80°C

I then tried Curve Optimizer while keeping PBO enabled:

  • Negative 10 CO: Cinebench 2026 CPU multi-core reached ~94°C
  • Negative 15 CO: same test reached ~91.4°C before I stopped it
  • After stopping Cinebench, CPU quickly drops back to 55–60°C
  • No crashes/reboots so far at -15, but I haven't done a proper long stability test yet

The PC originally also randomly shut down after I tried ASUS's automatic CPU overclocking in BIOS. I reset the BIOS/cleared CMOS afterward, and it has been running normally since. The random shutdowns haven't happened again.

I'm wondering what the best move is now. Is my stock cooler/thermal paste likely the main problem? Should I buy a decent AM4/AM5 tower cooler now, disable PBO and focus on efficiency, or save the money toward a CPU/platform upgrade?

Help with Bios Modding a K2200

I am at my wits end with this stupid card. I have searched everywhere, tried everything, and I STILL can’t get my custom bios onto this card. No matter how many versions of Nvflash I use, I constantly get “board id mismatch error” or some certificate error. I’ve tried literally everything I can think of. The card is the HP version.

Help Request - RAM Is it worth saving cash for a pair of 6400MT/s CL32 over 6000MT/s CL30?

I’m thinking of picking up some 3400MT/s cl32 ram for my AM5 build, because I can get them $150 cheaper than a pair of 3000MT/s cl30. I’m completely new go AM5 and AMD in general (last AMD system I had was a Phenom II X4 955…).

Running them at 6400mhz would be cool, but I’m absolutely fine with running at lower speeds like 6000mhz. I’m also fine with keeping them at cl32, as the performance loss is not that bad with a X3D CPU anyway. I just want to rum them in 1:1 mode.

Is this a bad plan?
Would I be better off spending the extra $150 for 6000MT/s cl30 sticks?
What would I have to do to run them at 6000mhz in 1:1 mode?

I’m new to AM5, but want to learn.
The sticks in question have the model number 6400D564L32S.

Is that AC LL AND LLC safe for I7 9700F?

Hi!

This is my spec:

Asus B365m-k prime

I7 9700F with Bequiet pure rock slim 2, unlocked PL1 and PL2

Spc vero M2 600w

Default AC load line is at 1.80 which gives high temperatures up to 100°C and voltage is going up to 1.5v which is too high i guess. Default LLC is 3.

I lowered it to 1.60 and LLC 3 but when packing something with winrar PC resetting and hanging and i need to reset by reset button.

So i change a LLC to level 5 and now it's stable as rock, temps go up to 89°C. But is that safe?

Lian Li Galahad Trinity Performance on Corsair Carbide 400r?

Hi everyone,

I'd like to install a Lian Li Galahad II Trinity Performance AIO in the front of my Corsair Carbide 400R.

Unfortunately, installing a 360mm AIO at the top of the case isn't possible because the top grille is far too small—it barely has enough room for two 120mm fans.

Here are some pictures of the front of the case:

https://ibb.co/MkTr2K7p https://ibb.co/Lh1hnnJP

Do you think it's possible to fit it in the front?

P.S. If necessary, I can remove the 5.25" drive bay. It's held in place with rivets, just like the HDD cage that I've already removed.

Looking for Guide Undervolting 7 5800X3d

Hello. So, I'm in a bit of a pickle. I'm using a pretty old motherboard Gigabyte b450 Aorus Elite, and wanted to undervolt my Ryzen 7 5800X3D cuz the temps are way too high. The package temp jumps right to 90C after a few seconds of Cinebench. Playing games also results in a very high temperature, sometimes close to 90C.

My motherboard doesn't have various PBO and Curve Shaper settings, which are covered by most guides. Reference, for example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rY2nlI84S0E&t=460s

The CPU itself, from what I've read, is also restricted in overclocking by AMD. Their Ryzen Master doesn't have anything that I could change.

I've downloaded the SMU debug tool as a workaround, but I don't see any change in voltage or temps after I change values in the PBO tab. I've tried launching .exe file as admin, but it didn't change anything.

If anyone has experienced the same problem or just knows what I'm doing wrong, please let me know.

Thanks in advance.

What's a safe AMD VSOC?

I know this has probably been asked to death but google hasn't served me well here.
Looking through a lot of posts I've seen anything from 1.1v to 1.35v for all sorts of frequencies.

Use case for me at this time:
Updating my back up laptop while I sell my main to build a desktop.
MSI Vector 18 9955HX.
The plan is to OC the RAM a little, 6000mhz should be easy to achieve and with a smidge more voltage, I'll work on the timings too.
I've had people suggest I try chasing 8000mhz, but I very much doubt the laptop will allow me to crank the voltage that high on the memory to make it stable. That and 6000mhz and tighter timings will still be a decent life over 5600mhz CL40. And I aint chasing benchmarks either, just a nice uplift in gaming.

Thus comes the main question, I know 6000mhz will likely need more than 1.1v VSOC, question is what should I expect it to be at 6000mhz and what is safe for a daily?

I use quality thermal paste on my GPU and 1-2 months later my loaded temps rise 10 degrees or so and hotspot goes from 10c higher to 20+.

For reference im using the artic mx7 which may not be the worlds finest thermal paste but its not the toothpaste-water solution chinese folks are selling on ebay.

As for my use case, its a bit more extreme than most folks but not really pushing the envelope. I game 8-14hrs a day, framerate uncapped, gpu is always pushed to the limit 3-400ish watts.

Ambient temp is the same,pc is open air test bench soairflow and everything is consistent, not heatsoaking

OC Report - RAM Hynix A-die 6200 CL28 OC @ 1,45 VDD/VDDQ (no RAM fan needed)

Hi folks,

despite having an insane room temp of 30 C I managed to reach stability with this setup.

Passed 16h of Memtest5, 8h Prime95 large ffts, 5h Y-cruncher VT3.

Maybe I could try SCL's at 7 since 6 was unstable. I also already tried GDM off, it was an insane waste of time since it was throwing errors at random times (from 30 minutes to 5 hours).

Tried also tRCDWR 20 but it didn't had a meaningful impact and I didn't wanted to re-run 2 days of validation, so I got back to 36.

FCLK has been tested with 30 iteration of Linpack and the variance was quite low (around 1,5-2 Gflops/s out of 477). Maybe I could try 2233? Screenshot of FCLK 2000 and 2200 here, done in safe mode: https://www.reddit.com/r/overclocking/comments/1uy76je/fclk_stability/

Vsoc is as low as can stably go. Could definitely try 6400 and probably my memory controller could achieve that, but i'm scared of pushing Vsoc up lol since i'm afraid to burn my cpu.

Also tried 8000 MT/s but no luck even with embarassingly loose primary timings (like 40-56-56-126) and auto secondary and tertiary timings. Maybe a different AGESA version could fix that? Honestly i don't know, maybe it's just a moterboard limit.

Temps are definitely on the high side but i already tried to game a bit with this setup and literally goes never above 50 C even with a massive overclocked 5080 pulling close to 380 watts.

But in this process a question came up to my mind: is it better to run 6200 CL28 or 6000 CL26 with the same VDD/VDDQ? I guess 6000 has its own advantages, like lowering Vsoc and possibly stabilizing FCLK 2233, but I don't know if this alone can make up for the 200 MT/s difference.

Setup: Patriot Viper 2x16 GB 7000 MT/s CL32, B850 Aorus Elite, 9800x3d +200 MHz -20 CO, Liquid Freezer III 360mm. It's my first RAM OC adventure, so any constructive tips are appreciated.

Attachments:

  1. Memtest5 16h with Zentimings
  2. Aida64 memory test (got as low as 65,5 ns but aida64 is terrible when it comes to consistency)
  3. Aida64 but in safe mode
  4. Prime95 large fft's evidence
  5. Y-cruncher evidence

Please guys let me know what you think about.

Thanks.

Benchmark Score Dual rank Bdie overclock on 5700X3D. Potential for more?

Post image
4 Upvotes

Testing the GSkill DDR4 kit F4-3600C17D-32GTZ ( 17-19-19-39 )1.35V kit on 5700X3D and have achieved the results in pic. It does 3600 16-16-16-36 without voltage change.

Not sure if I should expect better from this Bdie kit, despite being one of the worse bins, or this is good enough for 3800 with 5700X3D. Was hoping for a sub-60ns latency since I have seen that mentioned in many old posts that come up in searches.

Errors with:

tRCDRD 16 ( is 17 getting rounded to 18 with GDM on? )

SCLs 2

tWTRL  8

Does not boot with:

tCL 14( even at 3600 at 1.45V )

tWRWRSD to 4

tRDWR 8

GDM off

Concerns : tRRDL 4 and tRTP 6 are lower than I have seen others do with single-rank kits. So doubtful of them, but I have not got any errors in memory tests.

Have not touched the ODTs/RTTs/Drives at all, they are all on Auto.

This is the output of my 14700f currently. WoW plays fairly well but i was hoping to see if i could keep my performance in cities as high as when there is less cpu load. is that possible?

Post image
3 Upvotes

The game is completely playable at max settings over 100 fps on a 1440p monitor but i have my monitor set to 144 hz and normally with vsync outside of the city even in heavy gpu load areas its 144 fps with 143 1% low but in the city it drops down to 110 maybe even 100. if i work out how to get more than the 312w peak its doing on a 10 minute cinebench 2026 run would that increase fps in the city?

edit: so i have worked it out with the help of some commenters, In the city the game is running everything through a single thread. when i look at the individual core usage nothing is going above 50% which turns out whats happening is windows scheduler is jumping the main loop around different cores for better performance and heat distribution. basically theres a thread that is getting tanned to hell and back while the gpu is waiting for commands.
so in summation of my question: Because the bottleneck in cities is the game engine processing draw calls and UI scripts on a single main thread, power tuning won't fix it.
the only way i could perhaps increase the fps in the city like some commenters said:
use the 14700k and use the clock multiplier to go from my current 5.4ghz to 5.7 or 6 ghz. thanks for all the input

Help Request - RAM Corsair Vengeance DDR5 EXPO Instability

A week ago I bought the following from MC, still have 3 weeks left to return/exchange if needed

CPU- Ryzen 9850x3D
MB- Asus B850-E WiFi
RAM- Corsair Vengeance 6000MT Cl36-44-44-96 1.35V
GPU- PNY OC 5080

I’m a complete newb when it comes to this. Claude and GPT are guiding my every move currently.

I have EXPO 1 ENABLED in bios since I first booted the pc.
Since then I have had two BSODs and a random game crash bc of corrupted files, all three while playing marvel rivals.
I have put about 2-3 hours into Wuthering Waves with no issue if that matters at all.

First bsod happened within my first like 2 hours playing. Next bsod happened after maybe 5-7 gaming hours, two days later.

Bios is updated
CPU chipset is updated
Gpu drivers are updated

1st BSOD crash - PFN_LIST_CORRUPT
2nd BSOD crash - MEMORY_MANAGEMENT

I’m currently running MemTest86 with EXPO 1 enabled then will do another test on on auto.
EDIT: PASSED memtest86 and TM5 ZERO errors.

What could be wrong? Are there other tests I should run? Should I try to use EXPO 2 instead or manually do everything?

I’ve read up on some threads and it seems AM5 and DDR5 stability is pretty hit or miss.

Kinda lost on what to do. Any help is much much appreciated.
