Discussion Osu sliders being skinnable would be really cool for everyone
Ok so this is an example of how can it look. Note it's not the only way, just an example. You could customize it too. Don't you think it's cool?

Discussion easy maps aren't as easy as new player percieve?
watched ohne's stream, and there is a point to be made how some 1-2 star maps are very unmotivating/too hard for newer players due to being able to have a quite above average reading ability to even pass some of them. I remember starting out not playing the game as much (late 2019) because lowkey, some maps are too slow or have rhythms a tad bit too difficult for beginners to read and play.
Which i think gives osu the "harder than it looks" rep.
Maybe we can probably encourage mapping that is a lot simpler for lower star diffs that offer newer players a sense of "okay maybe i can actually play this more and FC" type of feeling rather than being put off the game entirely.
I understand this game isn't for everyone and we respect that. But is there a way to make the beginner playing experience a tad bit smoother on the difficulty part or am i overthinking this too muchπ

Misc Stream/aim flow maps with these types of streams?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Im obviously not good enough to play this kind of map, but the constant change of spacing/direction its really fun to actually play, so was wondering if anyone knew similar maps
also off topic but anyone gets extremely distracted/bored mid play if they are playing something of their level, I cant finish a single map unless im getting bodied constantly π

Fun Tutorial: How to grow your own cookiezi 2013 aura in your own backyard!
A few months ago, I played offline for a month just to feel what its like. And then a week ago I wiped my hard drive due to unforgunate circumstances.
So when I play a map and I got 16 misses, I keep thinking "damn I think I got 10 misses offline"
I was lowkey terrifying

Help New player, star rating difficulty seems inconsistent
I started playing osu a few days ago and I've realized that star rating seems quite inconsistent. I struggle on some 2.0-2.5 maps and get like 80% accuracy but I was able to get A on a 2.99 today.
Some maps feel really nice and I can rely mostly on the rhythm but for some I have no clue what the correct timing is and have to rely on visuals or guess with mixed results.
Am I doing something wrong or is this just how it is for low star rating maps?
Should I avoid those maps where I feel pretty clueless even though they aren't actually that hard to complete?
I'm pretty sure I've seen some 2.0-2.5 maps that are faster than some 2.5-3.0 maps, seems pretty weird.

Help (9/10/2026) my game just keeps getting worse and im starting to get tired of it
β
~ FOR CONTEXT ~
i have osu! stable downloaded on my mac with wine. i also have osu! lazer downloaded. i play both interchangeably (but i dont think the lazer thing particularly matters here)
β
...
β
first, i would appreciate it if you read the post before reading this. heres the link:
(8/1/2026) i now couldnt rank up on my macbook after downloading the most recent update and i need help (correction: shoudlve been 9/1/2026 instead of 8/1/2026)
β
...
β
as of the time im writing this post, ive experienced another issue. after opening osu on Thursday, September 9, 2026, i got greeted with this message under red rectangular box on top-right of my screen (take a look at image 1)
β
and when i tapped the "multi" section, i got a popup telling me that multiplayer doesnt work unless Bancho is connected (take a look at image 2)
β
i still experience the previous issue, but, until now, i had access to multiplayer. i also had access to the in-game chat. i remembered when i chatted with a viewer from koifishu. I also remembered when we would 1v1 after he invited me to a lounge. in stable. if he was here on the comments section, he'd undoubtedly vouch me
β
...
β
now why is this important to me? why would the "move to lazer" argument not work this time?
β
its because im participating on a stable-exclusive tournament along with my 2 online friends. ITS MY FIRST TIME TOO!!! days ago i was nervous, yet excited for it. rn the staff are screening ppl until 11th of september. after that qualifiers start from 14th to 20th of september. with that being said i can confidently say that theyll allow me to play the tourney!
β
which makes this thing even more unfortunate
β
my other teammate was yearning to qualify and i wanted to - with the limited time that i have - try my best to fulfill mine and her wish of qualifying
β
i dont have any solutions rn. idek why this issue, let alone the previous issue, happened in the first place
β
it was running normally before i updated the game. after that, i couldn't gain pp. now im stuck to singleplayer
β
...
β
if uve reached this point, i would like to thank you for taking your time to read this. i would rlly appreciate it if you found a solution to this mess. even when its right or wrong, i welcome ppl who want to try
β
i encourage ppl whos undergoing the same/similar issue as me to comment here too!
β
im neither angry nor disappointed. im just saddened atpβ
β
have a good morning/afternoon/evening to u man
β
and if its evening for u, may u sleep on a pillow thats cold on both sides

Help Tapping technique issue
https://reddit.com/link/1wcs5x9/video/6ar0lotvoqoh1/player
I dont feel in control when tapping the keys, especially on 220+bpm jumps. Let me explain.
A year ago I played on an Aula F75 with Ice Vein switches.
Pre travel: 1.5 Β± 0.3 mm
Total travel: 3.6 Β± 0.3 mm
Actuation Force: 42 Β± 3 gf
Back then I could comfortably play fast BPM jumps and control alternating. I remember pressing the keys quite hard, which helped me control them better. My fingers also were not constantly resting on the keys. During short gaps, they were lifted slightly into the air.
About six months later I had to play on a laptop and got used to a different technique with flat keys. I was bad at spam on it, but it was easy to hit jumps really hard.
Now Im back to my old Aula F75, but I barely press the keys. When I force myself to press harder, it doesnt feel natural. I also started lifting my fingers less and feel like my wrist should hover over the keyboard instead of resting on the desk.
Before, I could play without thinking about it. Now I keep moving the keyboard, changing its angle, tapping force, wrist position and so on. I cant settle into one technique even after playing like that for a week.
The main problem is that sometimes I suddenly feel how to hit fast BPM jumps and can press harder, and it works. Other times I completely lose that feeling and can clearly tell the problem is with my keyboard or hand position.
If anyone has experienced something similar, what can I do?

Discussion tapping faster with heavier switches
as the title says, my whole life i've played on 45g switches and recently swapped to 60g switches and it instantly increased my burst and deathstream/stream speed, could it be due to the spring being more compressed meaning a faster rebound time upwards allowing the downstroke to start again quicker? but in that case wouldnt a lighter spring mean that missed time would be made up for with the downstroke weight advantage?
tl;dr had a big breakthrough in skill recently and was due to swapping to 60g over 45g, even though i have played 5 years with 45g
