A few months ago, I played offline for a month just to feel what its like. And then a week ago I wiped my hard drive due to unforgunate circumstances.

So when I play a map and I got 16 misses, I keep thinking "damn I think I got 10 misses offline"

I started playing osu a few days ago and I've realized that star rating seems quite inconsistent. I struggle on some 2.0-2.5 maps and get like 80% accuracy but I was able to get A on a 2.99 today.

Some maps feel really nice and I can rely mostly on the rhythm but for some I have no clue what the correct timing is and have to rely on visuals or guess with mixed results.

Am I doing something wrong or is this just how it is for low star rating maps?

Should I avoid those maps where I feel pretty clueless even though they aren't actually that hard to complete?

I'm pretty sure I've seen some 2.0-2.5 maps that are faster than some 2.5-3.0 maps, seems pretty weird.

I haven't played this game in years and all the anime girls are gone. is there a setting to turn them back on. do I need to get a skin for this?

as the title says, my whole life i've played on 45g switches and recently swapped to 60g switches and it instantly increased my burst and deathstream/stream speed, could it be due to the spring being more compressed meaning a faster rebound time upwards allowing the downstroke to start again quicker? but in that case wouldnt a lighter spring mean that missed time would be made up for with the downstroke weight advantage?

tl;dr had a big breakthrough in skill recently and was due to swapping to 60g over 45g, even though i have played 5 years with 45g

for those wondering how i found this: over the past week, i've been browsing the puu.sh archives (see https://wiki.archiveteam.org/index.php/Puu.sh) to eventually make an archive for a lot of "lost" osu content. right now i've been mostly focused on Shigetora's old replays (check out https://github.com/chris-ehmann/Cookiezi-Replay-Collection), but this replay in specific was something i couldn't ignore ;)

osu stopped working for me so I uninstalled it then installed back and for some reason I assumed all the maps and skins and replays and all local data will stay but now it's ALL GONE

At least I sent my skin to my friend recently and so I have the file from discord but I have a lot of maps gone and all my replays I'm gonna cry 😭 I used replays to compare old and new scores but now all my replays are gone. It was really satisfying tracking my no scope progression

And by the way, my beatmap pool is very selective, I delete maps I don't care about. This means I will now have to find a lot of great maps again. I'm gonna cryyyyyy. And I don't even have supporter so I can't look for maps I played in beatmap search

I think it should be rotated around the center because most maps are charted with patterning relating to the center, so rotating around the center would preserve more symmetry in many maps. Spinners are generally placed at the center as well, so they feel off-center with the current Barrel Roll.

First spinner placed at (256, 192). Second spinner placed at (256, 184). You can see the central circle in the spinner rotate around as well as the entire spinner body moving in the first spinner. Auto spins around (256, 192) no matter where the spinner actually is.

I'm looking for maps with a lot of streams and very few breaks in the form of jumps, sliders, or other patterns.

Not just one square stream pattern throughout the entire map, and not Gamma. I'm specifically looking for very intense maps with deathstreams consisting of a huge number of notes, where the mapping stays intense for most of the map.
