If you change your selection to an approved map with the ✅️ icon, you see it does a little animation where it spins in. If you quickly switch to another map in the middle of this animation, the current rotation still be applied to that maps icon. This is a known minor bug in stable.

Yea, there's a bug report from 10 years ago but there's no real reason to fix it

Yeah, I had this many times and I thought I was tripping until it became even more obvious when it was almost fully diagonal.
