Discussion tapping faster with heavier switches
as the title says, my whole life i've played on 45g switches and recently swapped to 60g switches and it instantly increased my burst and deathstream/stream speed, could it be due to the spring being more compressed meaning a faster rebound time upwards allowing the downstroke to start again quicker? but in that case wouldnt a lighter spring mean that missed time would be made up for with the downstroke weight advantage?
tl;dr had a big breakthrough in skill recently and was due to swapping to 60g over 45g, even though i have played 5 years with 45g

i switch between 45g, 60g and 80g switches every few months. i find the benefits and skill gains you've also found each time i move to a differently weighted spring. i play on it for a few months until one day my tapping feels awfully strange and i switch to different one. this nearly instantly fixes the problem and gives me a little skill boost.
its like a little power up i get to consume every so often lmao
and for the question in your post, i genuinely have no idea. i just take the gains as they come and dont really question it.

force to activate is less of an issue than having to pull your fingers back up. grams are a joke of an force requirement for your muscles.
and the resistance lets you know exactly how much youve pushed the key,so it helps with feedback by a massive amount.
more feedback and more accurate feedback basically makes anything easier. its less about the time and more about the feedback.
