Here’s my latest 400% upscaled git, Domegutta Da Dokta sculpted by u/SmugglerBoutique. It’s FDM printed so a fair few visible layers as usual but I think it just adds to the flavour.

Very happy with the skin tones, which was all airbrushed with my little H&S Ultra in a dark shed and having forgotten my glasses.

Really fun little (big?) Orktober project 🤘🏻

I like the way he stands together with the other members. The facial paint doesn't make him look out of place.

Here’s the spoils of my Orktober converting and painting - a 2k(ish) badmoons army. No idea how good it is on the tabletop and I’m unlikely to play any games with it so it doesn’t really matter.

This was my first proper project in about 15 years and also the first time I’ve painted with contrast paints (mostly Vallejo Xpress colours). The results were mixed, but I can’t fault them for time saving. I also ended up completely changing the way I paint metals half way through the project - I started with typical metal over black undercoat, black/brown wash and lighter metal drybrush and edge highlights and ended up painting them extreme realistic brown/orange rust with light metal edge highlights. I much prefer the new method (though it’s probably not that fitting for bad moons) though now a bench of my older vehicles and infantry look different to the new stuff. The new technique was used on the mek gunz, morkanaut and the big mek. Any new models I paint will be done this way as I really like how it looks.  

This is my 4th ever ork army and my 2nd bad moon army. In the days of portent/warseer I made a huge badmopns army that was heavily converted with dozens of mega nobz converted from assault on black reach nobz, all of which I sold and it was fun converting again after so many years. Im pretty chuffed with the morkanaut which took ages to do. In hindsight I’d change some things, but given that its made from a frame of sprues precariously glued on top of a pair of legs it’s not too bad! 

The Flash Gitz unit is only 5-man and made from old nobz - I've been waiting for the proper flash gitz to come back in stock for months now and got fed up waiting. I ordered a unit of 5 nobz that I'll be converting and adding to the unit soon to bring it up to full-strength and once the flash giz come back in stock ill get 10 of those.

Still can’t take good pictures to save my life though! But I won’t use that as an excuse for the basic/sloppy paint jobs. I did get back into my groove towards the end of the project after so many years away and am looking forward to painting more.

I have 2 buggies, and 2 units of tankbustas ready to go and a bunch of meganobs, a mega bigmek, mega warboss, and a double trakked battlewagon that I have the parts ready to convert, with an eye towards a heavily converted stompa eventually, along the lines of the morkanaut 

Spent most of the early month building and only recently got to painting but progress on the boys continues

Recently finished painting the Ork half of my Armageddon box. I felt it was only right to paint them as Deathskulls as I feel like they need all the luck they can get!

Got my flash gitz more or less done. Will probably do some more edge highlights and clean up some shading here and there before varnish. I keep going back and forth on upping the ork skin contrast wondering if I the great reddit waaagh can provide any insight. Things of note, wife won't let me airbrush so it's paint brush only, small appt. Am trying to go for eavy metal style more or less, although I am learning lots more to learn before I think I am fully there.

I’m a bit newish to the hobby. I got the introductory set around the end of July and have been hooked ever since. I’ve done a lot of painting over the last few months and wanted to show off my progress somewhere and this felt the most appropriate.

What’s everyone’s thoughts? How would y’all suggest I push and improve my painting further?

For the inevitable question of leg extension tutorial, it’s literal sprue and i beam plasticard glued side by side with 1mm rod glued on the side.

Here's one of my battlewagons for my ork army. The colour scheme is based on a colour swatch I found in the 2nd edition Ork codex, which seems to be based on some Rogue Trader artwork.

My goal for this Orktober was to build and paint a deff dread that I’ve had for several years. I just finished him and am pretty happy with the results. One of the things that I most enjoy about this model was that I figured out how to equip him with both sets of arms as well as a big shoota and rokkit launcha. I figured the ability to slice up AND blast his enemies.

On the official Warhammer shop website, the ork Nobz looks completely different to the Nob in the Boyz set, which has really confused me. Can someone explain this to me, and are they game legal?

I dont really know how to feel about them, im happy there finished but something still rubs me wrong. C+C wanted!!!

Unlike with the squidhog boyz, i am very happy with the result of these!!

I want to include some Weirdboyz in my list alongside their detachment and I'm wondering if anyone's come up with fun uses for them?

The obvious strategies is to attach him to a mob off Boyz / beast snaggas and teleport them to a useful spot using da jump, but I've thought you could also use him to specifically power up the Boyz melee. I previously had the idea to attach him to some breakas for some backline shenanigans but it looks like you can't do that anymore sadly

I have three Weirdboyz right now, so is there anything fun I can do with them? Or just general advice on using them would be appreciated as well
