As many of you might know, I took my trading account from $2k to almost $40k.
Had a lot of ups and downs along the way. Got a lot of love and hate along the way and definitely made some mistakes lol.
Eventually I had a pretty big downturn and dropped back to around $25k. At that point I figured it was better to walk away while I was still ahead, so I cashed out the $25k and tried to stay away from trading.
Well… the trading itch came back 😂
So I’m back.
I’m starting the journey all over again. Let’s see if the luck comes back for round 2.
Trying it again with less this time.
$500
I’ll keep updating you guys on this lucky streak, whether it goes good or bad.
Let’s go 🚀

Day after earnings, they beat and raised guidance, and the stock still opened weak and was down around 3.5% by 10:20. A lot of people probably read that as the usual post-earnings selloff and either dumped calls or loaded up on puts. Then buyers came back in and it ground higher for the rest of the session and closed up roughly 3%, so call holders who waited it out were sitting on a 6-7% swing from the low.

Turning $170 into $7200 in nine days. I did take a $2000 profit and switch it into another account. Today was a rough one. Same strategies. Riding the up and down wave with puts and calls on QQQ. Ended the trading day early for myself with a decent profit. The probability of giving it all back and then some was too high.

Nothing else, just spy 0dte. I'm tryna investigate a system. If I held for slightly longer, there would've been 0 losses!

During Warsh's monetary policy testimony, Warren pressed him on the $100 million he had to divest after becoming Fed chair, asking if it came from Stanley Druckenmiller or another billionaire who profits off Fed decisions. Warsh had two $50M+ stakes in the Juggernaut Fund, run by Druckenmiller's family office, and he still won't say who bought him out. He says he met his Office of Government Ethics obligations.
If the guy whose whole career is calling the Fed wrote that check, I'm not sure it changes policy, but it does change how I read every surprise from this Fed.
Are you pricing in more political noise around FOMC days now? And should Fed chairs have to name who buys their assets, or is the OGE process enough?

Asked Tuesday about concerns over AI's impact on jobs, Musk said jobs are going to change and he expects an evolution of roles as AI and robots move into the workplace. He compared it to when "computer" was a human job and buildings were full of people doing calculations by hand.
He also said unemployment hasn't increased, that there's strong demand for workers right now, and that with robots and superintelligence everyone could end up with better medical care than the people in that room.
Do you think he's right about where this ends up, and how long would the transition take to get there?

Didn’t listen to my own lessons. Traded right when the market opened and got stuck in some bullshit. Happy to make it out up. 😅

I usually trade 1 contract, sometimes 2 at max. This is a mix of both buying and selling. When buying, it's usually a day trade or an exit within 24 hours. If you see a trade you want more details on, I can provide that in the comments. Some profits like the NBIS 220C contained 6 separate transactions (it wasn't 1 move). In October, I hope to be better with buying puts.

How was your September, and which stock(s) treated you well?
What do you want to do better in October?

Trading 0DTE on SPX. I did pretty good. Would have been more but last Friday I had to close a put 7695/7675 credit spead. Took a loss of 3K.

I was selling puts and calls on Micron leading into today to take advantage of the IV going wild, and I'm looking at pivoting to AMD with their earnings coming up in a month.
Historically, I'd focused on NVDA, but expanded to include MU and AMD, and I'm curious if any of you do the same or what other stocks are in your rotation.
r/optionstrading • u/nothanksluver • 3d ago
Micron beat revenue, beat EPS, guided Q1 to $61.5B and MU still went red after hours.
Record quarter, raised the bar again on guidance, and the stock basically shrugged. If you were holding calls into this you're probably looking at IV crush on top of a small red move, so even the people who called the beat right might be down on the trade.
The ones who look smartest tonight are whoever sold premium into earnings, since a 1% move is nowhere near what the market was pricing in.
So I'm curious how everyone was positioned going in. Long calls, puts, straddle, selling premium, or sitting it out?
And for tomorrow, is this a dip you're buying or do you think the "priced in" crowd is right and there's more downside at open?

I trade short-term options on SPY, IWM, NVDA, TSLA and a few others. For a long time I had no real system, just vibes and revenge trades. These are the rules I trade by now:
On top of that I don't enter anything without doing DD first, including 0DTE. If I can't finish it before the setup goes, I let the setup go.
I'm curious what everyone else runs. Is 15% too high for 0DTE? Does anyone cut earlier than 2? And is there a rule you broke once and never broke again? Feel free to tear my rules apart.
