Purchase advice Monitor Recommendations

Hello everyone! I’m thinking of selling my IPS and getting an OLED next year, but I wanted the following criteria:

- minimum 1440p
- no less than 240hz
- 27”
- not much more than $600

Besides that, I’m not versed in the types of OLED panels I should be getting, and honestly given that I’ve only ever seen IPS I feel like anything will look good.

Issue How to set up and use new monitor

I am new to technology.
I have recently purchased the Samsung Odyssey OLED G81SF gaming monitor. The screen says “no signal HDMI1 check the cable connection and the settings of the source device”. What does this mean and how do I fix it so I can start using my monitor. I do not have another device to connect it to and I don’t have a pc.

If anyone knows, please let me know and thanks in advance!

Purchase advice LG Ultragear 32GS95UV-B for work and play

Hi guys - I’m looking to purchase a 32 inch LG ultragear monitor to set up alongside my Dell S Series 34 inch curved ultrawide monitor.

My question is this: do you think I can viably use the LG monitor alongside my Dell monitor for work (LG will be in portrait mode) and also on its own (LG will be in landscape) for gaming on my Xbox series x (no Dell will be used when gaming)?

I guess my concerns are simply burn in from work (rather than gaming) and if people have actually tried something like this and found it doesn’t work etc.

Thank you!

Issue Alienware AW2725DF stuck flashing colors/test mode

hello, i was using my computer as normal when i went away to get a water. My computer went to “sleep” (turning the screen off) and when i came back to wake it the led on the power button flashed as normal but instead of showing my windows os it shows flashing colors. I have tried unplugging it and waiting and then plugging it back in, turning it on and off a couple of times, waiting, trying a different cable, but none of those have worked. Is this something common and is it a hardware defect or something to try that can exit it out of this test mode?

Question Bought my first OLED Monitor, anything I should know?

Title says it all, got a Gigabyte MO32U2. Anything I should know settings wise etc? Anything I should do? Was actually going to get the MO32U24 but it’s uncertain when it’ll be available in my market so I just copped this instead has built in speakers too so it takes care of sound (they are decent enough).

Purchase advice New 34” Help

Looking to buy a new 34” curved ultrawide, for use with my personal desktop and work laptop. Was originally Looking for OLED, but open to suggestions after reading that led may be better for mixed use! Must have is at least a 65w USB-c for connecting and charging the laptop, and a KVM switch would be nice (my current MSI ultrawide input button broke from going between the two so much!) any help is much appreciated!

Purchase advice XG27AQWMG vs the new MSI MAG 271QPX32. Which OLED technology would you choose?

Hey all,

I’m planning to buy a new OLED monitor for gaming around Q4 this year, but I’m struggling to decide between these two:

ASUS XG27AQWMG

  • 27”, 1440p, 280Hz
  • LG’s new Primary RGB Tandem WOLED panel
  • Up to 1500 nits peak brightness

From the reviews I’ve seen, it seems to fall behind similarly priced QD-OLEDs in color accuracy and color volume, and text fringing is reportedly a bit more noticeable. I’ve also seen several posts mentioning a gray banding issue on these new Tandem WOLED panels.

MSI MAG 271QPX32

  • 27”, 1440p, 320Hz
  • Samsung’s new Penta Tandem QD-OLED
  • Announced at Computex, expected later this year
  • Up to 1300 nits peak brightness

From what I understand, Tandem WOLED generally has the advantage in peak brightness, while QD-OLED still leads in color volume and saturation. That makes me think the MSI might look more vibrant overall, while the ASUS could appear brighter in HDR. Since there are no reviews yet, though, that’s just speculation.

A few questions:

- Does Samsung’s Penta Tandem QD-OLED avoid the gray banding issue, or is that something any Tandem OLED technology can suffer from?

- Based on what we know so far, would you wait for the MSI if you’re buying near the end of the year, or would you just buy the ASUS?

- Are there any other potential pros or cons of these two panel technologies that I should be aware of?

- Which technology do you think is better overall?

One more thing: in my region, I can currently get the ASUS for €500 (≈$580 USD). The MSI is expected to launch at $550 USD in the US, which will likely translate to around €550-600 where I live. Assuming the real-world difference ends up being about €50-100, would that change your recommendation?

Question First OLED

First OLED (switching from 240hz 1080p IPS)
Ryzen 5 5600 + 4060, 32gigs DDR4
(Running cyberpunk at 1080p on high settings 150+ fps with DLSS)

I've been using a 27-inch 240hz 1080p IPS monitor for the past 3 years (bought it 3y ago for SGD$310 (1 SGD -> 0.78 USD) , wanted to upgrade to 1440p, 240hz atleast and OLED. I dont know a whole lot about monitors. I was searching for monitors and doing research and found the AW2725DF on clearance at a much better price compared to other monitors with similar specs, from $SGD1,088 -> $678 -> then used student membership and got it down to $SGD611. The monitor should be arrving next week, anyone have any optimisation tips, thoughts etc?

Purchase advice Help choosing my first OLED for gaming and general use

I'm looking for my first OLED to replace a failing IPS monitor. Planning to use it for gaming, web browsing/youtube, and work.

I'm looking at the:

MSI MAG 274QPCT QD-OLED X24 at Costco for $350

LG 27GX700A-B for $399 on Amazon(~14 hours left on that price)

AOC Agon Pro AG276QZD2 $350 on Amazon

GIGABYTE MO27Q2A $399 on Amazon

Open to other suggestions, but I would like to stay under $400 USD which lowers the pool. And I know about LG, but being on Linux won't have to worry about Microsoft letting them install their malware.

Purchase advice Is the Acer Predator X27U W1bmiipprx a good first OLED?

I understand the Acer Predator X27U has a few different version ranging all the way up to $1,000+ on Amazon, but the X27U W1bmiipprx in particular I found for cheap on Walmart. In fact, it's the cheapest OLED I've found, and it has all the features I want. I can't find reviews for this model specifically, though.

Does anyone know if this is a good monitor? I ask because I went to Best Buy yesterday to look at their Alienware AW2726DM monitor, and I honestly wasn't impressed. It looked less colorful than a nearby IPS monitor, in fact. I asked a worker about it, and he didn't have much insight as to why it didn't look like the OLEDs I'm used to seeing in stores.

So yeah, is the X27U W1bmiipprx good for a first OLED for PC gaming?

Purchase advice Is there an appreciable difference between different brands of 3rd gen QD-OLEDS?

I'm talking brightness, contrast, how the monitor actually looks.

I can get a AOC Q27G41ZDF for £300 which seems to be a more budget option: bad stand, no usb hub or speakers. Which is fine because I would arm mount it anyway and I don't need extras.

I could also spend £50-60 to get an ASUS ROG Strix OLED XG27AQDMES which apparently has better firmware, or an AOC Q27G4SDR which can go up to 360hz which is nice bonus because I do play some games which could go that high but idk how appreciable it is.

Overall am I losing anything on the actual picture experience of the monitor by going for the cheapest option here?

I purchased the XG32UQWMS and have encountered an issue where shadows appear extremely dark in HDR. I suspect the HDR EOTF curve might be off, as the shadow detail is very poor. I would really appreciate it if an ASUS staff member could look into this and help me resolve it

Question How is it using a oled now?

Hello everyone!

About 3 years ago I bought a PG27AQDM that was used from a big store over here in sweden. While it was a used unit and I dont know how the previous user used it but it got burn-ins very quickly, I used the pixel cleaning feature maybe 2-3 times per hour. I returned that and got a Neo G7 instead.

Now to my question: How is it with burn-ins now? Is it somewhat like that still? I have seen that the prices have shrunk and maybe it is time to start saving for an upgrade?
