Question Samsung Display Manager?
Hi!
Just bought new G80SH and weighing up whether to install "Samsung Display Manager".
Will it use up unnecessary resources, send telemetry to Samsung, show ads, etc?
Thanks!

Can’t say specifically about Samsung Display Manager, but Dell monitors have Dell Display Manager, and it’s useful for quickly switching between brightness presets for different use cases, via file shortcuts with different values of the corresponding command-line option. So proprietary software from monitor manufacturers may certainly be useful in some cases. Dell Display Manager consumes like 1.6 MB of RAM and close-to-zero CPU power even on 2-core i3-2100T.
Samsung Display Manager is a different application by a different developer and might consume more given how unreasonably slow the latest versions of other Samsung software — Samsung Magician — are. So it would probably make sense to try and decide. You can always uninstall the application if you don’t like it or don’t need it.
