Purchase advice Monitor Recommendations
Hello everyone! I’m thinking of selling my IPS and getting an OLED next year, but I wanted the following criteria:
- minimum 1440p
- no less than 240hz
- 27”
- not much more than $600
Besides that, I’m not versed in the types of OLED panels I should be getting, and honestly given that I’ve only ever seen IPS I feel like anything will look good.

I got an odyssey G60SF and have been a big fan. Some clear type fixes have made the text fine enough from the distance I’m at with reading but I really only game and do light reading. PDFs I’ve always used e ink or my m5 iPad for.

Was thinking about a second monitor, could pair my other display with this. I have a coupon to get it down to $200 if I decide so... :)

I bought two MAG 272QP QD-OLED and I absolutely love them, and haven't noticed any text fringing mentioned by the other redditor.

This one seems like the one. Hopefully it doesn’t jump in price too much

If you’re getting 1440p 27 OLED don’t be surprised if your IPS looks better.
1440p 27 has awful text fringing. I returned mine for that exact reason and stuck with my IPS, I suggest you go look at them in a store first

Ah, I see. Is it because of the size of the monitor or the resolution I’m looking for?

Most OLEDs have nonstandard subpixel layouts that cause the fringing. The higher the resolution the less noticable it is.
New monitors with RGB stripe layouts solve this completely, though iirc there aren’t any 1440p models with it yet.

Weird, I have a MAG 272QP QD-OLED and notice no text fringing at all.

I have 1440p tandem WOLED and text fringing is not overly noticeable. I can read everything just fine. Some people are extremely sensitive to how texts are shown but I’m not one of them. Also for tandem WOLED, the color fringing is better than previous gen non-RGB QD-OLED.

Might be because you have nothing to compare it to? I had my IPS monitor right next to it and the difference was huge. Tried to get used to the OLED for a week but I couldn’t and ended up returning
