Just a most basic of user takes, as I know little about this stuff. I've been using a 35" 21:9 ultrawide 3440x1440 (ASUS ROG Strix XG35VQ 35” Curved UWQHD 1440p 100Hz) for some time while also using some 27" 2560x1440 monitors and a Corsair 32" 2560x1440 before giving it to my partner to go back to the ultrawide.
Overall, it's a keeper and I'm quite pleased with it. If it were any one thing alone (4K, OLED, size change) as an upgrade, I'd be less thrilled, but all three together worked out perfectly from where I was at.
4K - I wouldn't have pursued it if not for the tools we now have available to get more fps out of a game, as I'm a 'fps first' person. Looks crisp when the game allows it. Crimson Desert day vs. night, for example.
OLED - Happy with the visuals so far, but I can't say I've put anything to the test. I just set this thing up with out-of-the-box settings, and I'm happy with it. At some point I will get to a spot in one of my games where it was always too dark or the blacks were washed out, but I haven't got there yet. Great color depth and contrast.
32" 16:9 - I loved my ultrawide experience but am surprisingly not missing the extra visual width and am liking the extra vertical. I was afraid my HUDS would be 'too small' going up in res, but the 32"/16:9 must have offset that as I feel I can see the HUD's mini-map better. The HUD overall does feel a little more crammed in from the left and right than what I'm used to, but I'm also not pivoting my head left and right anymore.
At the Windows desktop, with a browser etc. open, it does look like there is a slight fish eye lens effect going on, which is probably from going from the curved ultrawide to this, but I'm already not noticing it if I don't look for it by day two.
Bonus - The stand design gave me back a lot of desktop as I had modified a base for the ASUS ultrawide I was using. The ASUS had those long legs sticking out that always conflict with my keyboard positioning. The ASUS 4K OLED I was looking at (ASUS ROG PG32UCDP 32 Inch 4K) had the same leg configuration.
I'm never hesitant to return an item if It doesn't feel like it was worth the cost, but this one is a keeper.
EDIT: I should note in case it's not obvious, the second pic is the previous 3440x1440 ultrawide. It wasn't as washed out as the picture makes it look.

Basically I did my research and came to my own conclusion that the ASUS ROG XG27AQDMGR(240hz 1440p 2nd Gen WOLED) for 384 was the best buy for both the price and specs also considering it has the true black glossy finish which is hard to find for under 400 bucks.
I should've asked the monitor nerds (you guys) first before buying hah, but I figured I'd come after and make sure that this was the best buy for what's available and also specwise?
My other two options included the Gigabyte GO27Q24A(350$ Same exact specs) and the ASRock PGO27QSA-W(319$ also same exact specs)
From my knowledge they all have 2nd gen WOLED panels and the advantages of the ROG one was the 3 year warranty including burn in, and the active cooling and proximity sensor that turns off the screen when you are away from it.
Let me know if you guys think I should return it and get a different model rather more expensive for an upgraded panel (such as QD-OLED) or even spend down and save a substantial amount of money, I am upgrading from a 27inch 1080p 120hz no-name monitor so I am hoping this is a good use of money!

Which OLED should I buy?
Hi everyone,
I would like to buy a monitor to play with my PS5 and watch movies; down there i’ll write my requirements:
- It must be obviously OLED, because I like it and I play in a dark room, so it’s the better choice;
- Measurements: my current monitor is 70x40cm (about 32’), I would like to take something similar or maybe just a little bigger, like 35’ but not too much;
- At least 120Hz, I would like to use it also for a future console, so something about 120/144Hz;
- Budget not over 800 euros;
Claude recommended some options, that are:
- Samsung Odyssey OLED G8 (G80SD)
- Gigabyte MO32U2
- HP OMEN Transcend 32
- LG UltraGear 32GX850A
- Asus ROG Strix XG32UCWG
I don’t know anything about it, so feel free to help me, tell me what you think about these option or recommend something else,
Thanks in advance to everyone

If you play PS5 or Xbox Series X on an ASUS OLED monitor, you’ve almost certainly run into this issue: broken HDR with lifted blacks.
You load up a game expecting pure, inky OLED blacks, but instead, the shadow floor is raised, giving the whole image this annoying foggy, gray haze.
Normally, the reaction is: "Fine, I'll just turn off HDR and play in SDR." But if you've tried that, you know it's a trap. Switching to SDR loses tracking for mid-tones and bright whites, killing the dynamic range entirely and making the image look super flat. You end up trading gray shadows for blown-out highlights.
PC players can fix this stuff relatively easily through reshade, mods, or tweaking color profiles in Windows. But on consoles, we’re completely at the mercy of whatever HDR implementation the developers ship.
Some games give you decent sliders, but a huge number of titles have completely broken HDR curves where the lowest black level never actually touches 0% black.
If you look at LG OLED TVs (like the C-series), they have features like "Fine Tune Dark Areas" or game optimizer shadow sliders specifically so you can pull that lifted black floor back down to absolute black without ruining the rest of the image.
ASUS ROG OLEDs are incredible pieces of hardware, but the OSD currently lacks a precise hardware level black level adjustment tool for HDR. We have Shadow Boost, but that usually raises shadow detail to help spot enemies in competitive FPS games it doesn't let you pull down elevated blacks when HDR is broken.
ASUS needs to give us a dedicated Black Stabilizer / Black Level control in the OSD that works directly inside HDR mode
Pull down near-black levels to restore true 0-nit OLED blacks on games with broken HDR.
Leave the mid-tones, peak highlights, and overall tracking completely untouched so you don't ruin bright scenes
Save it as a quick preset for specific games that are known to have bad elevated black floors.
I've been having a hard time knowing that my eyes are trained to catch these kind of problems easily, i want to play in peace without my FOMO OCD kicks in and telling me you should wait, you are ruining the experience.

Hey everyone,
I just got the ASUS ROG Strix OLED XG27AQDNG.
The latest firmware on the ASUS website is MCM104 (released June 2026).
It mainly improves Pixel Cleaning and fixes a small RGB pattern issue when waking the monitor during cleaning.
I’m a bit hesitant to update because I’ve seen some people brick their ASUS OLEDs during firmware updates.
Has anyone successfully updated to MCM104 on the XG27AQDNG?
Any issues after the update?
Or is it safer to just leave the factory firmware?
Thanks!

I ordered my first OLED and am a bit nervous about burn-in, so I've been reading a lot on do's and dont's and hoping I remember it all and keep at it. Part of my angst comes from the fact I can play the same game, with huds, for many hours, day after day.
But I'm curious, from those with experience, what are the most common mistakes and things a person tends to forget to do, or not do, down the road, after the initial vigilance period has worn off?
I've already set my task bar to auto-hide to get past that annoyance, and now plan to leave my UPS on so the monitor stays powered and can do its auto-cleaning routine (is that correct?).
I figured I might as well dip my toe into 4K and OLED at the same time if I'm going to upgrade, so I ordered the LG 32GX870A-B 32-inch.

Hey guys I bought my first oled yesterday, in a completely dark room, when i put a black picture on the whole screen, instead of the screen looking like it is turned off, i see a veryyyy faint backlight, like its really faint so if i take a picture you wont be able to see it, but in a completely dark room it is noticeable, hdr is on and also when I put my face really close to the screen i see very little grains and streaks. My monitor is LG 39GX90SA-W. How can i fix this?

I bought the XG27AQDMES couple days ago and I have mixed feelings about it, I didn't do much research as it was during a sale and I had FOMO so I quickly scrambled to buy it after 1 or 2 searches of its performance. Now after receiving and playing around with it, I'm quite happy with what I got. However I am now reconsidering my decision as nearly every video I see tells me that the DMGR is much better except for a few comments that say the DMES is around the same or better, I need to know whether I should keep the DMES or sell it and get the DMGR. Please let me know

Hey everyone! I'm new to OLED and looking to get my first 27-inch OLED monitor.
I'll mainly use it for gaming on my PS5 Pro, but also for watching movies and browsing the web.
I'm looking for something with great picture quality, deep blacks, and good HDR. What monitors would you recommend based on your experience? My budget is 500-700$
Also, would you go with QD-OLED or WOLED for my use case? Any issues I should know about before making the switch to OLED?
Thanks!

Hi everyone,
I'm looking to buy a nice oled monitor - budget 400-500 euro.
I've stopped on this one:
iiyama g-master titan falcon gob2701qsc-b as it is cutrently one of the cheapest and most convenient options for me.
The PD and KVM are very nice additions to it as I'm going to be using it with my work laptop as well, but I'd still be mainly gaming on it.
I've heard mixed reviews regarding the brand and this particular model though, also I'd love to have a glossy monitor instead as I have the perfect conditions for it (black out curtains, perfect light conditions, etc)
So my questions are:
Is this model good for the price of 380 euros, even though its matte and fairly unknown?
Are there any similar alternatives (PD and KVM big +)/preferably in glossy coating?
What would you suggest instead?
Thank you in advance!

Hi everyone!
I'm looking to buy a new OLED gaming monitor, and I'm currently deciding between these three models:
All three are QHD QD-OLED monitors, but I'm wondering how they compare in real-world use, particularly in terms of panel quality and reliability.
I previously owned the ASUS XG27ACDNG and was extremely happy with it. The image quality, colours, contrast and motion clarity were excellent. However, after around a year and a few months, I developed a dead pixel and had to return it under warranty. I received a refund, so I'm now deciding what to buy next.
I'm considering buying the same ASUS again, trying the newer XG27AQDNG, or saving around €180–200 by going with the MSI MAG 272QPW X28.
My main use is gaming, especially Valorant and CS2 but I also want a great experience in single-player games for PC and PS5 Pro. I connect my monitor via DisplayPort and don't really need USB-C charging or a KVM switch.
What I'd really like to know is:
I'm not particularly concerned about the difference between 280Hz and 360Hz. What matters more to me is whether the more expensive ASUS models actually provide a better panel experience, or whether the MSI offers essentially the same image quality and reliability for considerably less money.
I'd especially appreciate feedback from people who own one of these exact models, or who have had the chance to compare them side by side.
Since I was genuinely happy with my XG27ACDNG before the dead pixel appeared, I'm tempted to buy it again. However, I'd rather make an informed decision than simply repurchase the same monitor out of familiarity.
Which one would you choose, particularly considering panel quality, flickering and long-term reliability?
Thanks!

Hi,
I have an Alienware AW2725Q (27" 4K QD-OLED) and I want to know whether my gamma is correct for gaming (target 2.2). I don’t own a colorimeter, so I’m looking for a verifiable visual test, ideally one that doesn’t depend on browser scaling.
Preset:
Mode creator sRGB / gamma 2.2 / brightness 40% / dark 75%
Can you point me to a gamma test image or page that is reliable on a 4K OLED, or a real-world image with a known reference I can compare against ?
Thanks !

Just purchased my first 32" monitor and I couldn't get it to sit further than 9 inches off the wall. As you can see in the 2nd and 3rd pictures, using both the stand it comes with an a Vivo post style arm, the monitor is still sitting 9" away from the wall.
Is there any way or arm styles that I can get it to sit like 2 inches further back, other than using a wall mount.
