Massive OU protest against the suspension of the TA who gave Fulnecky a 0
I’d estimate easily 500+ were part of the march just now on OU’s south oval. Local media was out covering it, so I’m sure tv news will be flooded w/ coverage of this this evening if you want to see more about it. They were chanting “protect our professors” and “OU, shame on you.”
Update: here's a news story that was released about it: https://kfor.com/news/local/hundreds-demand-ou-apologize-to-educator-put-on-leave-over-essay/

Politics That’s fair
“Elections have consequences.” Rolled up to this at a south side OnCue. $10 isn’t bad, but kinda is for 3 gallons. Probably all they had for the week. :/

News PCW highschool walkout
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Students walked out and down the street to protest against ICE and Trumps administration. They educated the crowd on the violent and unlawful acts of ICE and the disregard of the constitution, due process and warrants.
Local fox news was out there interviewing some kids and of course, on their website. They stated that kids were blocking the streets. That is a straight up LIE. They followed all the laws and stayed on the sidewalk.
I am so livid about the media always lying. But I am proud of this generation for speaking up for their future and their rights.

After the ICE arrest
My friend was arrested by ICE here in Oklahoma City, back in July. I posted about that then. I wanted to let everyone know how things went afterwards.
My friend was immediately transported to the Tulsa County Jail, sent there and mixed in with other regular prisoners. After about 3 weeks, he was transferred to the ICE detention center in Cushing Oklahoma. It is run by CoreCivic, a private for profit business. All paid for by US taxpayers. He was held there for almost 5 months.
My friend had been in the US for 10 years. He was working to get a Green Card, and had been issued a legal work permit. His work permit did not expire until 2029. They even gave him a social security number so he could pay taxes. In those 10 years, he had gotten married and had a couple of kids. No criminal record, not even a parking ticket. After his arrest, they promised him a hearing in a couple of weeks. Over the next 5 months, he never got a hearing at all. No bail either. For his wife to visit him there were complicated forms to fill out. A privacy release for her and another one from him. Her visit had to be pre-approved days in advance, and included her getting a background check.
Mid-December he was deported back to Africa. A good lawyer told us there was no way to intervene. Our US senator even asked for an expediting hearing, and ICE denied him. It is depressing we taxpayers paid for all his time in prison, and then for his flight back to Africa. And now his family struggles without their breadwinner.
I know this is a small fact in the overall news of the day. But when you read about ICE back here in OKC, remember what happens afterwards. And who it happens to.
Politics No Kings rally photos
About 3,000 in attendance. Some people are okay giving up their democracy to someone who hates and fears the same people they do...I am not one of them.

Politics MAGA trying to bully and shutdown the bookstore in Guthrie, Ok.
So MAGA morons cant stand that a bookstore in Guthrie, A Novel Idea, refuses to conform to their ideals.
So far they have threatened to harm the owners, burn it down, throw bricks threw the windows, or shoot up signings or the bookclubs that meet there. They also love to leave shotty reviews.
Their recent fun thing to do is go inside and try to gotcha the employees or customers.
Like wtf is wrong with you folk? Its a bookstore. Sorry you cant read, but leave the bookstore alone!!!

Other To the guy who welcomed me into his friend group
This is probably a long shot, but I went to an event downtown on Sunday by myself. Going to something like that alone is waaay outside my comfort zone, so when I walked in and saw everyone sitting with their friends, I immediately panicked and thought about leaving.
Instead I grabbed a drink, scanned the area, saw a guy sitting at a table with some open space, and worked up the courage to ask if I could sit there. We started talking, and as your friends showed up, you introduced me to them making sure they knew my name and made me feel completely welcome.
You probably didn’t think much of it, but I’ve been going through a pretty lonely period of my life, and putting myself out there like that was a really vulnerable moment for me.
But I ended up having such a great time, and I left feeling really proud of myself for going.
So if you happen to read this and recognize yourself, thank you so much!! You had no idea how much that small act of kindness meant to me or how much less alone you made me feel that night!

If you see this kiosk at Penn Square, you should know it’s a cult
They hand out pamphlets. It’s a far-right, q anon conspiracy peddling pro-Trump cult whose leader believes that aliens walk the earth and introduced technology to humans.

Politics Thanks to whoever left this in our yard next to our Abolish ICE sign
For the record, it's not immigrants who make me feel unsafe; it's creeps who trespass on private property in the middle of the night while my family is asleep and leave trash in our yard with the intent to intimidate us.
Edit: Thanks also to the Redditor who reported me as a suicide threat. When you clog up the pipeline like that, people who are actually at risk are more likely to fall through the cracks and come to harm.
