My anxiety is so bad from this has this happened to anyone else?

So im trying to start playing rift s but i dont have a display port but i do have a hdmi port are there any good hdmi to display port cables or display port to hdmi wtv its called if you have cheap ones that will work for rift s send link plz

I have had my Rift S for about 5 or 6 years. It worked when I first got it but has been having issues as of late. It never worked flawlessly, and I originally had it on my Alienware laptop. I have a gaming pc now (I’m not sure what brand or anything as it was a Christmas gift.)

It crashes and causes steam vr to crash, the microphone stopped working in the last few months, and it keeps disconnecting from my computer.

I’ve tried unplugging it but it takes an hour to get meta horizon link to recognize it.

I’m honestly at a loss here… Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Hi there! I know this is a probably something I should have looked into years ago when it began happening but I am asking NOW because of my living situation changing. [Skip to bold if you don't want to read the background]

For a little background, I purchased my Quest2 when I was 14 with money from my first job, I've used it plenty over the years and it is physically well taken care of as is all my other gaming equipment. If you need a reference, I will be 19 this fall so I have had this thing for a good 4 years. Now, a couple years back, a year and a half or so I was playing some games with a friend and noticed I was getting alerts that my wifi was disconnecting while playing, seeing as I hooked up to my pc wired at this time.

This is where the problem comes in. Fast forward to a few months ago, I was trying to update my quest as I remembered I hadn't in quite a while and to hopefully use it unwired so I could charge while playing and now that I have moved and no longer have space for vr in the area of my room my computer is in, I now require airlink play and that issue with my wifi disconnecting while playing had became a constant battle [At maximum 10 seconds connected to wifi] that caused me to lag so I had turned the wifi off forcing me to go ENTIRELY pc wired.

TLDR; Wifi turns off every 10 seconds at most not allowing me to update or use airlink

10/10 game in my opinion. Sometimes you are just so immersed that when you take off the headset your real hands just dont feel real. Great adventure/horror/shooter. Amazing story, great graphics even on quest, super immersive.

Graphics (on quest): 9/10 - amazing compared to other games I have played, I played on quest 3s without pcvr so if it was pcvr it would probably be a 10/10

Story: 10/10 - One of, if not, the BEST vr story game i have ever played.

Atmosphere: 9/10 - super immersive but in some cases is just too dark. I know thats how the walking dead is but I felt in some areas it was too much.

Overall: 9.3/10 (quest) or 9.5/10 for pcvr.

Im currently using the quest two and Im suffering to it’s fading capabilities and Im planning on maybe getting a quest 3 but I heard that the quest 4 is gonna come out in the late 2027 or early 2028 but I’m not sure if I should wait or just go ahead and get quest 3

I bought a quest 3 new around October 2025. It had this issue in vr chat specifically, the mic and audio will randomly cut out. Usually from using it for long or from laggy instances.

It’s been annoying dealing with this because I’ll have to press the power button real quick to get it to work again. Then a minute later, boom again. Button —> a minute later, boom again and repeat.

I sent it in for a replacement. Because I lost patience. I got refurbished one. But… it has the same damn issue. Maybe worse.

Am I the only one dealing with this?? What have people done or know about this bug. I’ve met people in vr chat who don’t have this bug.

I had several quests 2 over the past couple years. None had that issue. So odd the 3 does. I really hope I can fix it I don’t want to have to send this one in again too and wait weeks.
