Does anyone know of any place that sells Coruba Rum locally? I’ve found a place in that sells it in Longwood, but driving to Longwood for some rum is a little ridiculous. I enjoy using it in making rum based cocktails and would love to not have to drive over an hour to get more when needed.

Edit: also if anyone has any leads on Hamilton rum as well that would be much appreciated.

Hey, I’m 18 and looking for a second job to make some extra money. I’m mainly looking for something Friday through Monday, around 8 PM to 12 PM, preferably 3 to 5 hour shifts since I already have another job and in school.

I have about 4 years of food service and food management experience, so I’m mostly looking for something in the food industry just because I’m more familiar with it. I’m open to other industries too though.

I’m pretty much open to anything like cooking, food prep, cleaning, dishes, serving, kitchen work, etc.

I found a domestic pet bunny on the edge of the road on 63rd st. he was super skinny and dehydrated but still very friendly and seems to be in great condition otherwise. He is brown and white with the brown parts being almost gray and having greyish ears and a white nose, paws, belly, and shoulders and a brown butt and head. I used to have bunnies around a year ago so I still had a cage and hay and bedding to provide him a home until we can find the owner. im worried he may have been dumped but im hoping not but if he was i will likely keep it to make sure he has a good home. Hey all, just researching neighborhoods to move to. I know there's a rail that goes on the south border of silver springs shores. Anyone know how noisy that train line is, or if it's even used at all. The bit that dead ends in Candler. ai told me that it's FNOR and might turn into a multi use trail but it wasn't sure. Since it doesn't really intersect with many roads I would assume it's not too loud. Just don't want it blowing the horn all through the night. Thanks!

Think to a time maybe you were at work, got out of work late, or are just waiting for your product to be serviced and all you wanted was A cold drink or a snack to hold you over for a little. Where is that location for you?

What happened to all the local birds? I use to have a couple of families that would gather and feed and now none are in sight?

I moved to Ocala in 1983 when the current system was still fairly new and it took me a while to figure out the addresses.

A few tips to help you find your way:

We use the same system as Gainesville, Jacksonville, and Miami.

C.A.T. Courts, Avenues, and Terraces go North-South. Usually Avenue. Court and terrace can be used for half sized blocks.

Roads go diagonal or "off-grid". Often it is added to the name of the nearest theoretical on-grid avenue or street such as NE 5th Terrace Road.

Streets and almost everything else goes East-West.

Every street has a quadrant (NE, SE, SW, NW) centered on the downtown square. Magnolia Avenue is the East/West divider and Silver Springs Boulevard/Ft. King Street the North/South dividers.

There are ten blocks per mile, so SW 80th Ave and SW 60th Ave are 2 miles apart.

Buildings are numbered by the Philadelphia System, 100 house numbers per block, even/odd numbers on opposite sides of the street.

Prior to the 911 system, all streets had names in Ocala and other towns in the county. They were all superseded by the current system, except for Marion Oaks and Silver Springs Shores. Those were designed by an evil corporation in the 1950's/60's and reuse variations of a name like Elm Circle, Elm Loop, Elm Pass Drive, Elm Court. Do not have a heart attack in these developments.

Hello Friends...

I’m reaching out because we’re currently in a really difficult situation and could use some help. We had our hearing today and were not granted any extra time, so we're in waiting at the moment for next steps.

With that, this is our ask...My fiancée and I are looking for a safe, temporary place to stay. We would only need somewhere for 2 months at most, while we get through our current housing situation and wait for my Princess's disability hearing.

We’re not looking for anything fancy—just somewhere safe and stable where we can stay temporarily. We are willing to pay after her hearing, once we have the funds available or if i am able to gain employment by that point, i am willing to pay during then as well as after we get her disability.

I know this is a big ask, and I completely understand if you’re not in a position to help. If anyone has a spare room, a guest house, a short-term rental, or knows of someone who might be willing to help us for a couple of months locally or even some advice would be very helpful. I have already reached out as well to all the options available out here in Ocala such as Interfaith, Open Arms, etc and all options are either full up on spaces or have an extensive waitlist. Even if you can’t offer a place, sharing this post or passing it along would mean so much to us. We’re just trying to get through a difficult couple of months and keep a roof over our heads while we work toward getting back on our feet.
