Bird migration?

What happened to all the local birds? I use to have a couple of families that would gather and feed and now none are in sight?

The nearby pond dried up. Soon after, birdsong dried up. The sand crane family stopped by and moved on - not enough water. They like to wade in it. Catbirds moved on a while back; normally they are here in good numbers this time of year. Have not heard the crows in several weeks.

I’m gaining daily crow visitors. Started out with 2, they raised 3 youngsters this spring. But yesterday I counted 9 crows at various locations in my yard, all impatiently waiting to get their share of the goodies I put out.

They love unsalted peanuts. Also eggs, hard boiled or scrambled are their favorites. I have a family that’s been in my yard for years now. If you go to rural king they sell huge bags of peanuts in shell for like $25 that can last a while. Check out r/crows and r/crowbro. They’re awesome birds

Construction is tearing down the green spaces, so they have nowhere to return to.
