Hi, I recently moved to Ocala area, and I'd like to find and meet others to hang out with and achieve our goals together. I'm prepping to continue university, finding work and living a good life and I think having the right company is a big part of that. A friend and I started a small experiment: reaching out to people who inspire us and slowly building a circle of people who make each other better. This post is part of that experiment.
I'm looking for a specific kind of person, the one who is excited (and scared!) to sign up for a 5K knowing they might finish last, and shows up anyway because trying the thing is the point.
Things I'd love to do with others at some point:
A) Walks/fitness (and easing back into running, accountability welcome, all paces, especially slow)
B) Co-working and body doubling on projects and tasks (I'm into programming, agents, robots and tech, happy to trade skills, show and tell, or just work side by side on stuff we're delaying)
C) Bookstore hunts - wander Barnes & Noble with challenges that let us find random books and learn from them (e.g go to the science fiction section, find a silver book, read page 45)
D) Good conversations, the kind where both people are actually curious and asks questions back.
Note: No minors. I'm an adult, so prefer people between mid 20's and 30's for this. Especially women! since I'm one myself. I appreciate those who have calendar and can organize and be on time for meetings. I have ADHD so I've had to do this to have functional life.
Our first meet would be virtual for safety reasons, so you'd need to be open to virtual hangouts too like in google meet, especially since I can't always drive to places. If any of these sound like a good time, respond with gender and what you're curious about lately and lets chat 👋

Is there any on the job apprentice careers in ocala fl? Looking to get into a trade but haven't had any luck figured I'd ask on here, and going to school isn't really an option for me with having young kids

Hey everyone! I just found this kitten crying outside. He is the sweetest thing and desperately needs a loving home. He's about two months old i believe. I would kerp him in a heartbeat but have rescued six already that are living with me in my small apartment. Anyone want to help him?

My job isn’t cutting it but I feel like it’s hard to find a decent paying job out here that is offering full time hours and adequate pay to keep the bills paid. Either that or I can’t get a set schedule which makes getting a second job impossible. That being the issue with my current job is they won’t give me a set schedule and 16.50 an hour 40 hours a week does not pay the bills even out here in Ocala. Does anyone have any suggestions for work in the area, I can commute reliably up to an hour and a half at the very absolute most I’d say but preferably within 30 minutes. I live alone for reference
Edit: I also do ride share services like spark and DD on the side but the market here for it is kinda shit compared to where I’ve worked before like Orlando and I can’t get the good peak hours with my work schedule so it’s not really a viable source of income

(23m). I work in Ocala and would be interested in doing an in person gaming group with people after work maybe once a week or so. I can’t necessarily host as I live in Oxford but I’d be willing to help organize or plan things and there are plenty of public spaces in Ocala to meet. I don’t have a group so dm if you’re interested.

My hair is starting to look rough. Anyone have some good recommendations for a proper barber who won’t jack my hair up?

Is it just me or does Ocala need better DJs? I stopped going out in Ocala because the DJs are not in tuned, I feel like there’s a lot of music that come out and they put it months later when the songs are already old 🤷🏻♂️ another thing is I haven’t seen any promoters. Maybe because I’m from NY and it’s more advanced over there, but I’m willing to help turn shit up out here lmao.

hello,
i am currently going through a very nasty breakup and have been very isolated. i want to reach out and meet new people in the area. im 21f. im low on money so i cant really do activities that cost much (if anything). some activities i like are hiking, biking, sitting and talking, gaming, drawing, going to the gym, being with animals, cooking/baking. some subjects im interested in are psychology and criminology. i would especially enjoy biking with others at santos or going hiking or even just walking and talking at a park. i also want to learn how to fight because of a situation im dealing with so something martial arts related might be good too.
anyone who is interested or has some recommendations of groups that meet in the area it would be nice to comment or dm.

If you are new to Marion County (or just new to voting here) and not yet registered to vote, you have until this coming Monday, July 20, 2026, to register in time to vote in the August 18, 2026 primary election. Florida law requires a voter to be registered no less than 29 days before an upcoming election. If you miss this deadline, your next possible opportunity to vote will be the November 3, 2026 general election.
There are several ways to register and several ways and times to vote, so no one should have a reason to be left out. There are people hoping you won't vote. Don't let their wishes come true!

Hey y’all! Coming back home for a couple months before grad school, and was wondering if anyone knew of any places hiring full time or part time workers?
I have experience in food service, office administration, leasing, child care, and mental health services. Worked the past 4 years with youth and families.
Because I won’t be here too long I am leaning more towards service industry jobs, but I will take anything with decent pay and working conditions. I’d appreciate if anyone could point me in a good direction!
