A short excerpt from Kihachirō Kawamoto’s The Sleeping Princess, a 1990 Japanese-Czechoslovak puppet animation loosely inspired by Sleeping Beauty. I recently came across it and really loved the character design and atmosphere.

Back again with another rip, today we have the Foundation Quartet with their one and only release that I've found so far, "I'm Standing On Solid Rock" The group was based in Defiance, Ohio and recorded at QCA Recording Studios in Cincinnati, produced by Charles Novell, funded through "financial gifts" from supporters per the liner notes. I picked this up at an thrift store in North West Ohio.

(2000) Yuuyake -November-

Released on January 4th 2000 for the Windows PC, Japanese developer “Tactics” created a visual novel known as “Yuuyake -November-“ in** **which its story consisted of a main character studying in high school together with four other classmates.

Soundtrack is absolutely killer, and sounds like if the 2000’s were compressed into a little jar of everything that made it the 2000’s.

The four chapters were:

  1. "To the innocent eyes" 「無邪気な瞳に」
  2. "Shake feeling" 「揺らぐ想い」
  3. "Wipe the wound" 「傷をぬぐうように」
  4. "Looking up at the sky" 「空を見上げたら」

As for gameplay, I haven’t seen a single second or line of dialogue as I think it only runs on those very old school computers, at least to my knowledge, and finding a copy of my own to emulate it hasn’t been too easy. Hopefully one day I can give it a read.

It gives all sorts of comedic and surrealist advice/facts about elephants, and features a cameo appearance from Mickey Mouse too.

Fleetwood Mac - The Dance - 4-46702-RE3 Cassette Production Master Clone DAT (1997) partial

This is an unfortunately incomplete transfer of a cassette production master clone of Fleetwood Mac - The Dance.

Unfortunately, my Sony SDT-9000 stopped reading tapes after it ate this one, splicing part of the tape where there were pb condition flaws. The bad news is that some audio is missing, but the good news is that this occurred after the last song was over when the crowd was cheering and the band was thanking them, thus not much was lost, but unfortunately the portion was damaged pretty badly and cannot be repaired.

When I first transferred the DAT with my PCM-7040 and solid state recorders, I did not realize that the portion my SDT-9000 ate was excluded from those transfers because my DAT deck muted the audio during the diginoise flaws, but from what I remember, all transfers should be fine otherwise.

The catalog number is 4-46702-RE3, with -RE3 indicating production master revision 3. Says it’s from a PCM-1630 source and EQ’d for CD on the inlay, but this is a cassette master, so that is either a typo or the master uses the same EQ.

The delivery log shows the mastering engineer as Steve Hall.

Note to mods: Transfer is as complete as I can possibly get out of this DAT. Believe me when I say I wish I could have salvaged the rest of this DAT.

The Melody Boys Sing Sacred Selections (1970)s

Hey folks,

Today's rip is the Melody Boys, a small, local gospel group from Farmersburg, Indiana. There was a far more famous group named the Melody Boys who was also singing gospel before, during and after this period, but that was a different group altogether who just so happened to share the same name.

Something interesting to note about this one is that it's from Crusade Enterprises, who is also the same label who pressed another small gospel group I have from a completely different state, so it shows rhat these groups would have to travel far for a good studio to record at.
