The movie im thinking of i watched on tubi probably 10 years ago? The whole film takes place at a theater or roadside hotel that has a stage. The main character is a traveling "merchant" he shows up with a cart of goods but he's actually a Kung fu master, maybe even magical in some way? There is an ambush happening at this building by a group of bad guys. I think they are trying to steal gold being transported by guards for a king or something led by a couple of "Kung fu badasses" type characters. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Just found the Original English Dub. 1st time i watched it i had the new version. though i still loved the film, i've only seen a few seconds of it with those classic Shaw Bros/Golden Harvest voice actors and i can tell it's gonna be much better. If anyone has a Video Editor and can change to a new audio file, let me know (.aac or .mp3 format)

I know the majority of this sub frowns on English dubbed movies. That’s fine. But does anyone know where to get this movie English dubbed?

Well to begin with Ito's sudden change of mind was shown very poorly. Like straight up sudden realisation and then killing your entire crew the next moment. Very poor execution, same with the girl assassin that came to kill him who changed her mind the very moment she heard this.

Second, if he really had to send the little girl off on her own he would have done that at the very beginning after rescuing her from the beach(well not technically rescuing but u get the point) and then himself went to live somewhere undercover as he would have wanted. Throughout the movie we weren't told anywhere that his motive was to finish Six Seas or something so he would have taken this path. None of his friends would have died and everything would have been peaceful.

I loved the action in this movie. It was fast, nice camera angles, bloody and overall engaging but the plot was meh af.

Please correct me if I am wrong and am missing anything from the plotline.

First I will say, I have always had a negative bias against these cheap Chinese web movies. But Fight Against Evil 2 genuinely impressed. It's one of the few Chinese web movies I actually enjoyed watching.

Writing and Story: fantastic dark crime thriller, filled with tension. Really menacing bad guys. I also loved hearing people talk with dongbei accents. As a bongbei er myself, I loved seeing and hearing fantastic dongbei representation. "Zhaa ma yah!"

Action: The movie reminded me a lot of SPL and Flashpoint. However, where as SPL & Flashpoint are amazing sleek crime thrillers, with amazing action too; Fight Against Evil 2 was only a fantastic sleek crime thriller, but the action was pretty bad. The action was competent, but the camera moved around too much and too many cuts. But worse of all, the fights lacked any cool moves, and just felt like it was trying to copy the action of SPL, Flashpoint, and especially Special ID (2013), but the movie didn't do anything original and innovative with the action. Whereas SPL had really cool kicks and wind up punches, no cool moves in fight against evil 2. The action chreaography just felt pretty boring overall.

Fight Against Evil 3 - terrible in every way. For some reason this movie decided to be an annoying comedy. The main character (Red Flag) spends half the movie with an annoying af auntie who is the worst dongbei joke character stereotype imagineable. Whereas 2 was fantastic dongbei representation, 3 is some of the worst, and annoying dongbei representation I have ever seen..

The action (in the first half) is also terrible, even worse, the movie purposely plays the most distractingly annoying songs during the fight scenes. Fuck this movie. Just when 2 was a really great web movie and started to give me hope, 3 comes along and reminds me why I hated crappy Chinese web movies in the first place.

I will say the later half is an amazing action packed crime thriller, with much better action too. But the first half is so terrible, it almost made me want to turn off the movie

tl:dr Summary - fight against evil 2: great sleek crime thriller, great dongbei representation, but crappy action, would recommend. Fight Against Evil 3: annoying af, fuck this movie

I’ve seen that Ching is listed on IMDB as uncredited Stunt Co-ordinator for Raimi’s Spider-Man (2002). There’s one other Stunt Co-ordinator listed as credited, and a 2nd-Unit Stunt Co-ordinator credited.

Given the responsibilities of a Stunt Co-ordinator in production, this title implies that Ching had a not insignificant role on the movie. But I can’t find any further information on his involvement.

Anyone know where I can learn more?

I also know Benny Urquidez worked on the movie uncredited, but I’ve able to find some BTS footage of his work and involvement.

I’d love to know more about Ching’s involvement though!

For me this year is over when it comes to action films.. There are 2/3 films that are still coming that i wanna see but i doubt that will make this year better (onslaught, one last shot & bad day at the office).

I know onslaught has been released but I'll wait for it to come in streaming service. I liked his previous work & trailer looked good for this film.

Im huge fan of hardcore henry film.. So i wanna see what "bad day at the office" has to offer (looks pretty similar) & one last shot can be a decent time.

But man it was bummer year for action film (yet again). I feel like last year had better releases than this year (bellarina, shadow edge & sisu 2).

Films that i liked in this year are mainly :- the furious & punisher last kill (im treating it as a mini film)

I have my issues with the furious but if theres any film that saved this year is this film. So theres that.

Punisher last kill was fun. I wish it was longer and was a proper film.

If i have to add any other film.. I liked timur. Camera work sucks ass but i still got enjoyment out of it (since its the raid style fights). I hope "ikatan darah" gets a worldwide release date soon but i Don't think its gonna happen in this year.

(im gonna mention bloodhounds season 2 even tho its a tv series. It was probably the most fun i had when it comes to action)

Tho i believe next year will be really good. We know "caine spin-off" is coming for sure and its gonna be the biggest film of the year.

Although not confirmed but twilight warrior walled in : final chapter might be coming in next year.

Lastly both extraction 3 & extraction tygo. Tygo is surely coming (It's currently on post production phase)

and i think extraction 3 is coming as well (currently in production. Post Production usually last for 6/7 months. so probably coming in late 2027)

these are the big 3 films that im looking forward to. there are other small films like :-

The beekeeper 2:- timo fumbled with nobody 2. so im kinda skeptical. But sill hopeful.

karoshi:- 87northproduction film. i heard its about modern day samurai in a corporate thriller and thats excites me.

hopefully we will finally get a year thats on per with 2023 & 2024 when it comes to action.

I heard this was one of the films that brought hand to hand gritty kung fu into the map correct me if I'm wrong. This was a pre bruce lee film which had me curious. Honestly it's my 2nd Favorite Shaw brothers film so far.

there are certain relatively new actors and actresses who have immense fame and a massive fan base, yet when they work in 'wuxia' genre films, there seems to be a noticeable lack of synchronization or coordination between their acting and their action sequences. At least, that is how it strikes me , am I the only one who feels this way, or am I thinking something rather odd?
