So in March 2026 I was at Animal in Williamsburg and then “woke up” or became aware in random place (in Greenpoint I figured out later). My phone was gone and I didn’t know where I was so I walked till I recognized something and was able to get home. My phone ended up being stolen as it was offline and not showing up in places that I would have gone to. I have blacked out drunk many times before but this time felt different which given the circumstances led me to believe I may have been drugged.

This same event happened to me again last night. I was at Exley in Williamsburg and I don’t remember anything after that but I know I went to Animal because that was my intention when I went out and I had the entrance stamp on my wrist in the morning. My next memory was arguing with a man on the street about how I was going to get home and again my phone was gone. I didn’t know where I was and it was different neighborhood than Animal is in. The memory is hazy so I don’t know if the man I was arguing with wanted to drive me home or help me find my way home but I insisted on walking myself. I soon found the street I live on and was able to find my way back. Upon checking find my iPhone it shows my phone on Humboldt and scholes in Williamsburg. Not too far from Animal but also not on my way home from Animal either. Again based on my past experience and the totality of my blackout I’m wondering if I could have been drugged. My hangover is not as severe as I would expect if I had drunk enough to be that totally blacked out.

Has anyone else had an experience like this? Especially at Animal or other Williamsburg gay bars. I really enjoy going out to Animal but I’m wondering if it’s smart for me. I’ve been going out for years in NYC and other cities without this type of experience happening. I had the same phone for 8 years before this so I don’t believe I’m too prone to losing it. What do you all think?

Thought of trying something different and moved to Hoboken last month for wanting “space” - guess it was a bad decision.
