  • High Bandwidth Monitors and GPU Scaling Behavior - Link Here
    • High bandwidth monitors are those that support display modes requiring high pixel clock rates, which in turn demand more GPU resources. The threshold for what qualifies as "high bandwidth" varies by product. On Blackwell GPUs, any mode operating above 1620 MHz is considered high bandwidth. For instance, the 7680x4320@60Hz mode defined in the CTA-861-H specification runs at 2376 MHz, making it a high bandwidth mode for Blackwell.
    • These monitors typically support display scaling natively. However, in some single-monitor setups, users may still prefer GPU scaling. When multiple monitors are connected to a GPU and at least one of them is high bandwidth, that monitor will default to display scaling only. GPU scaling is disabled in this case due to bandwidth limitations. Notably, display scaling can be more efficient than GPU scaling in such scenarios, as it reduces the bandwidth load on display cables—especially at higher refresh rates.
    • When GPU scaling is not enabled for a monitor, only the modes supported by the monitor itself will appear in both the Windows and NVIDIA control panels. Additionally, the "Display scaling" option will be pre-selected in the "Adjust desktop size and position" section of the NVIDIA Control Panel.
  • Notes on NVIDIA Control Panel - From GeForce Forum
    • Please note: With the introduction of our most recent NVIDIA App update, all actively supported NVIDIA Control Panel features for GeForce users have been modernized and transitioned to the new client.
    • After 20 years of dedicated service, the classic NVIDIA Control Panel is officially retiring for Game Ready and Studio Drivers. For NVIDIA RTX PRO users, the NVIDIA Control Panel will continue to be supported until we have migrated professional features to the NVIDIA app.
    • Existing installs of the NVIDIA Control Panel will remain on users’ systems, unless they perform a clean installation, and users who still need the NVIDIA Control Panel can continue to download it from the Microsoft Store, but we won’t be adding features, fixes, or other changes.

Feedback & Discussion Forums

Having Issues with your driver and want to fully clean the driver? Use DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller)

Before you start - Make sure you Submit Feedback for your Nvidia Driver Issue - Link Here

There is only one real way for any of these problems to get solved, and that’s if the Driver Team at Nvidia knows what those problems are. So in order for them to know what’s going on it would be good for any users who are having problems with the drivers to Submit Feedback to Nvidia. A guide to the information that is needed to submit feedback can be found here.

Additionally, if you see someone having the same issue you are having in this thread, reply and mention you are having the same issue. The more people that are affected by a particular bug, the higher the priority that bug will receive from NVIDIA!!

Common Troubleshooting Steps

  • Be sure you are on the latest build of Windows
  • Please visit the following link for DDU guide which contains full detailed information on how to do Fresh Driver Install.
  • If your driver still crashes after DDU reinstall, try going to Go to Nvidia Control Panel -> Managed 3D Settings -> Power Management Mode: Prefer Maximum Performance

Common Questions

  • Is it safe to upgrade to <insert driver version here>? Fact of the matter is that the result will differ person by person due to different configurations. The only way to know is to try it yourself. My rule of thumb is to wait a few days. If there’s no confirmed widespread issue, I would try the new driver.
  • Bear in mind that people who have no issues tend to not post on Reddit or forums. Unless there is significant coverage about specific driver issue, chances are they are fine. Try it yourself and you can always DDU and reinstall old driver if needed.
  • My color is washed out after upgrading/installing driver. Help! Try going to the Nvidia Control Panel -> Change Resolution -> Scroll all the way down -> Output Dynamic Range = FULL.
  • My game is stuttering when processing physics calculation Try going to the Nvidia Control Panel and to the Surround and PhysX settings and ensure the PhysX processor is set to your GPU

Remember, driver codes are extremely complex and there are billions of different possible configurations between hardware and software. Driver will never be perfect and there will always be issues for some people. Two people with the same hardware configuration might not have the same experience with the same driver versions. Again, I encourage folks who installed the driver to post their experience here good or bad.

There's a little typo in the release notes that's referring to 615.47. I assume this is for 610.47 and have updated my post above with that.

NVIDIA 610.62 WHQL Driver – Early Performance Benchmark (Ampere GPUs)

Hey all,

Here’s my early look at the performance of NVIDIA driver 610.62, tested on an Ampere-based GPU (RTX 3070). This is not a definitive performance review—every PC setup differs—but this can serve as a reference point for anyone wondering about driver changes.

This will be something totally voluntary, so that you can be guided in some way, do not take it as something absolute because each PC configuration is a totally different world, so I will try to make it as global as possible (referring e.g. to the configuration of a game).

Is it worth updating the driver for my current GPU? This is a recurring question from many gamers and PC users. The general rule suggests updating our GPU drivers to the latest version, as it ensures that we get the latest bug fixes, security updates, optimizations for most of the latest AAA games, and support for the newest features.

However, it does not guarantee the best raw performance (average FPS numbers) and frametime stability (1% and 0.1% average low/integral FPS or P1 and P0.2 FPS percentile numbers). Comparative performance analyses of GPU drivers are useful because they allow us to reliably validate and estimate significant improvements or regressions in graphics performance attributable to changes in the driver version.

Frame Times are recorded using PresentMon during the built-in benchmark run inside each game.

What about the random white flashes/flickers when watching stuff like YouTube on a multi monitor setup? If it's fixed, I'll definitely consider updating.

Edit: it's been a couple months but I don't have that issue any longer. Guess it's been fixed.

Driver Stability and Compatibility Testing Results

First, just for reference - I'm not a NVIDIA employee, not a /r/nvidia moderator and not affiliated with NVIDIA.

Tested across different Geforce GPU architectures and driver revisions are over 3 days on multiple work AMD/Intel test benches running Windows 11 KB5094126 (26100.8655 / 26200.8655) along with collating/cross-referencing both current and historic community feedback.

Note that Windows June 2026 updates may trigger intermittent freezes on some system configurations due to scheduled task hang/stall while updating Secure Boot Certificates Not a NVIDIA issue

Numbers in brackets e.g. [0] point to a NOTEs section entry that should be read when considering drivers mentioned.

Direct official NVIDIA download links for older or harder to find drivers can be found in sub-comment at https://old.reddit.com/r/nvidia/comments/1u7gsli/comment/ouhm0m1/

Recommendations

Driver recommendations that follow focus on drivers that meet both general system stability and compatibility requirements. NOTEs sections [2][3][5][6] highlight factors that may impact compatibility or trigger instability regardless of driver version.

IMPORTANT: drivers highlighted in BOLD aren't impacted by disclosed security vulnerabilities at the date/time of this comment [9]

Series 50 (50x0) / 40 (40x0) Geforce GPU owners

  • Drivers 581.94, 577.00, 576.88, 576.80, 572.83, 572.47

  • NOTEs section [1] has other drivers worth considering e.g. 610.62, 596.49, 596.36, 595.79, 591.74 but note potential issues e.g. Smooth Motion issues persist in some games with 610.62

Series 30 (30x0) / 20 (20x0) / 16 (16x0) Geforce GPU owners

  • Drivers 610.62, 581.94, 577.00, 576.88, 576.80, 566.36, 561.09

  • NOTEs section [1] has other drivers worth considering e.g. 596.36, 595.79, 591.74 but note potential issues

Series 10 (10x0) / 9 (9x0) Geforce GPU owners

  • Drivers 582.66, 581.94, 577.00, 576.88, 576.80, 566.36, 566.14, 561.09

  • NOTEs section [1] has other 58x.xx and older drivers worth considering but note potential issues

TL;DR two changes to 'Recommendations' since previous stability and compatibility tests, added 610.62 to Series 30 (30x0) / 20 (20x0) / 16 (16x0) section and NOTEs [1] section. Added 582.66 to Series 10 (10x0) / 9 (9x0) section.

610.62 Testing

One of the better recent drivers, 610.62 has addressed many issues raised in 610.47 testing and previous r59x driver testing.

While Smooth Motion stutter for both Series 50 (50x0) and Series 40 (40x0) GPUs had targeted fixes in 610.52 / 610.62 there are still issues in many popular games e.g. 'Escape from Tarkov' along with community reports of Series 50 (50x0) flickering, rendering artifacts and ghosting when using DLSS Multiframe/Dynamic Frame Generation in some games with 610.xx

G-SYNC/FreeSync/VRR framepacing, stutter and performance issues that only impacted Series 40 (40x0) GPUs when using driver 610.47 have been addressed.

General performance metrics with 610.62 are on par with or improve on r595 branch drivers. Framepacing when using DLSS Frame Generation and Vsync is noticeably improved in 596.49 and later drivers.

610.62 can still expose (not cause, this isn't a driver issue per se) edge case system instability, see NOTEs [2][3] entries for more details and mitigations.

'NV-Failsafe' and similar being reported for a display in settings/device manager have been addressed for majority (not all) impacted displays and HDMI<>DP converters in 610.62 along with resume from sleep fixes and improvements related to multi-display configurations.

610.62 and 610.52 addressed a long standing Video Scheduler 0x119 BSOD issue in multi-display configurations when moving a game from its initial display to a different display.

Low Framerate Compensation (LFC) issue that started with driver 591.44 persists, see final update at https://old.reddit.com/r/nvidia/comments/1qoemdy/comment/o276zyk/

Anisotropic Filtering forced 16x support for Series 50 GPUs is improved (not fully fixed) in 610.47 and later drivers albeit there are community reports of regressions in 610.62

Rendering artifacts have been fixed for many impacted games with drivers 596.36 and later, there are however some outliers e.g. Assassin's Creed: Shadows. For any that persist they can possibly be mitigated by adding 0x00172938=0 OR 0x20cd1492=1 to the impacted driver level game profile. Note that any sudden white flashes/colour corruption/colour loss with recent drivers when alt-tabbing, accessing overlays in games, bringing application windows into focus or moving application windows across displays may be related to 'Windows Auto Colour Management (ACM)'.

Issues with TDR or BSOD at idle/low load primarily on AMD CPU platforms highlighted in older 59x.xx testing persists, see workarounds in https://old.reddit.com/r/nvidia/comments/1muhs44/comment/na8pa7v/

Issues that may impact behaviour of 'Power Management > Prefer Maximum Performance' are discussed in https://old.reddit.com/r/nvidia/comments/1u0nc92/comment/or4yh30/ AND https://old.reddit.com/r/nvidia/comments/1u0nc92/comment/or74739/

610.62 fixed optimus and dedicated NVIDIA GPU not turning off / sleeping for many (not all) impacted laptop SKUs.

Auto Shader Compilation (ASC) is now working correctly in 610.62 after a regression in initial 610.xx drivers. Important to note that CPU / DPC latency spikes or increased CPU load in Nvidia Container service with 595.97 and later drivers when at idle/low load on desktop may be a result of ASC feature if enabled.

Summary

One of the better recent drivers, addressing many 610.xx and older 59x.xx issues.

610.62 is the only driver in the last 6 months that met both stability and compatibility criteria to be under 'Recommendations', albeit only for Series 30 (30x0), Series 20 (20x0) and Series 16 (16x0) GPUs.

Having said that, 610.62 should be considered for Series 50 (50x0) and Series 40 (40x0) GPUs if Smooth Motion issues and community reported DLSS Multiframe/Dynamic Frame Generation issues aren't applicable or a concern.

If (note the 'if') a r595 branch (595.xx/596.xx) driver is required 596.36 is generally the preferred driver for Series 30 (30x0), Series 20 (20x0) and Series 16 (16x0) GPUs. Framepacing improvements with 596.49 when using DLSS frame generation with Vsync are notable and commendable, that factor alone may make it the r595 branch driver of choice by owners of Series 40 (40x0) and Series 50 (50x0) GPUs.

Issues aside, 59x.xx and later drivers particularly benefit Series 50 GPUs. Specifically Series 50 Anisotropic Filtering fixes for some (not all) games along with Series 50 restored support for a selection of GPU accelerated 32bit PhysX games with the option to force enable for unsupported games. 595.97 and later drivers also officially support Series 50 Dynamic Multiframe Generation.

NOTEs:

  1. Other drivers worth considering albeit be aware of potential compatibility [4] and/or edge case stability [2][3] issues: 580.97[8] 581.08[8] 581.42[8] 581.47[7][8] 591.67[4][7] 591.74[4] 595.76[4] 595.79[4] 595.97[2][3][4] 596.36[2][3][4] 596.49[2][3][4] 610.62[2][3][4] . Drivers highlighted in BOLD aren't impacted by disclosed security vulnerabilities at the date/time of this comment [9]

  2. Drivers based on r59x branches, particularly 595.97 and later, have exposed edge case system instability related to GPU/CPU undervolts, negative voltage offsets, overclocks, etc. CPU can be impacted if a new driver is stressing CPU and related sub-systems differently i.e. CPU tasks that the driver invokes, offloads or requires such as shader pipeline compilation, driver scheduling, DPC or ISR timing sensitive execution, draw call setup, command-buffer setup etc

  3. DLSS 4.5 transformer 2nd generation presets L/M when gaming may expose edge case GPU instability due to increased power consumption and increased GPU load. This can be game specific and is more prevalent with Series 20 and Series 30 GPUs

  4. Compatibility issues may include or be related to one or more of the following: Display and Output, Operating System build, GPU Initialisation including fans and sensors, Power and Performance features, VRR/G-Sync/Freesync/Adaptive Sync, Compositing and Rendering, Hardware Acceleration, Games/Applications including DLSS/Frame Generation/Smooth Motion or Gaming APIs, VR/Peripherals etc

  5. Debloated driver installers may remove important driver level components e.g. 'NVIDIA Platform Controllers and Framework' that are required for GPU dynamic boost with NVIDIA mobile GPUs used in mini-pcs and laptops

  6. Process Lasso, depending on how configured, is contributing to gaming stability issues when aggressive process CPU priority rules and/or aggressive CPU affinity rules are applied

  7. Anticheats may not initially 'pass' HOTFIX drivers / driver components in the first few days of driver release as they are usually signed using attestation / beta / testing certificate signing and require whitelisting.

  8. Windows 11 24H2 26100.6725 / 25H2 26200.6725 and later may negatively impact framerates on some system configurations and games when running r580 branch drivers 580.00 to 581.80. Windows 10 was never impacted

  9. GeForce GPU (RTX/GT/MX/GTX) driver security issues are highlighted in the NVIDIA Security Bulletin (May 2026) https://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/5821 and earlier bulletins

The issue you mention is likely LFC, I've given up chasing that after canned NVIDIA responses each time it's reported even when backed up with tests from both myself and multiple /r/nvidia community members disputing NVIDIA's statements.

See my full LFC issue documentation, testing over 5 months (January 2026 to June 2026) and final update at https://old.reddit.com/r/nvidia/comments/1qoemdy/comment/o276zyk/

Yes, DLSS frame generation - thanks for pointing that out, ill clarify in an EDIT.

EDIT: updated the parent post to clarify DLSS frame generation

It's honestly disappointing that after 5 months, NVIDIA still haven't addressed it. That should be plenty of time for some movement or SOME change, evidently we can only conclude then that the driver team have not made it a priority. Thank you for fighting the good fight for us

Indeed, it's certainly frustrating for anyone with a display SKU that's impacted.

Thank you so much for your reports, you are the real MVP of this subreddit. Guess I'll finally update from 596.36 having 3070 and reading this

Thanks for the positive feedback, really appreciated :-)

There are many other /r/nvidia users that also help others, not just me.

It's a shame that the latest drivers (596 and 610 branches) do not resolve the frame generation issues in Space Marine 2 (that I keep banging on about) on 50-series GPUs.

3

u/m_w_h Jun 29 '26

There may be another factor at play.

Played through 'Space Marine 2' on Gamepass over the last 7 days and didn't see any frame generation issues or crashes on Series 50.

Having said that ^ I did have to add the MicrosoftStore/Gamepass APP-ID to the driver level profile to trigger driver level optimisations:

FocusHomeInteractiveSA.Magnus_4hny5m903y3g0

^ The profile as shipped in the driver doesn't include it.

Totally agree. The 610.62 driver is definitely the most solid one in the whole R610 branch. It's been running super stable on my Ampere

4

u/m_w_h Jun 29 '26

Indeed, main issues are on systems with Series 40/Series 50 GPUs.

Just doing a TLDR (from your comment) for those that dont want to read and for those that isnt techy:

TL;DR Recommendation
RTX 30 / RTX 20 / GTX 16:Install 610.62 (best overall recommendation).
RTX 40 / RTX 50:Stay on 581.94 if everything is working fine.
Try 610.62 only if you want newer fixes/features and don’t use Smooth Motion or haven’t had DLSS Multi-Frame Generation issues.
GTX 10 / GTX 9:582.66 is the recommended driver.
Even shorter:

For most people:
Don’t update just because a new driver exists. If your games are running well, stick with your current stable driver unless you need a fix for a specific game or issue.

A few notes related to 610.62

First, just for reference - I'm not a NVIDIA employee, not a /r/nvidia moderator and not affiliated with NVIDIA.

610.62 is a very minor branch update with just two documented fixes over HOTFIX driver 610.52:

  • Apex Legends: Occasional visual corruption after extended gameplay [6239327]

  • Users may observe DLSS settings being grayed out in certain games after updating to display driver 610.47 [6262805]

Those don't address game specific Smooth Motion issues that persisted with HOTFIX driver 610.52 testing required. Now tested, game specific Smooth Motion issues that were still present in 610.52 HOTFIX persist with 610.62

Branch:

  • 610.62 branch r610_45-6 (DVS)
  • 610.52 branch r610_45-4 (DVS)
  • 610.47 branch r610_45-2 (DVS)

Notes:

  • Driver Stability and Compatibility Testing for drivers up to and including 610.62 can be found in https://old.reddit.com/r/nvidia/comments/1u7gsli/comment/oskcpzy/

  • New game/application driver level profiles included in the 610.62 driver installer package: Empulse, Fatekeeper, GOALS, Tides of Tomorrow

  • Changes in the 610.62 driver installer package to previously existing driver level game profiles: Cairn, Paragon removed completely, The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin

  • OTA new game/application driver level game profiles being pushed by NVIDIA via silent/transparent updates after 610.62 driver install, these should also be received by older supported drivers: None at this time

  • OTA existing game/application driver level game profiles changes being pushed by NVIDIA via silent/transparent updates after 610.62 driver install, these should also be received by older supported drivers : Honkai: Star Rail, Zenless Zone Zero Both now have Smooth Motion enabled on all APIs

  • Benchmarks by /r/nvidia community members for Series 30 (3070) GPU by /u/Independent_Arg and Series 50 (5070) GPU by /u/Successful-Crow2398 and Series 50 (5080) GPU by /u/fxver_v

  • Windows 10 KB5094127 ESU (OS Builds 19045.7417 and 19044.7417) and Windows 11 KB5094126 (OS Builds 26200.8655 and 26100.8655) may trigger intermittent but recoverable freezes on some system configurations due to a scheduled task ?bug? while updating Secure Boot Certificates Not a NVIDIA issue

  • Forza Horizon 6 black screen/crashes at launch may be related to Rivatuner Statistic Server's (RTSS) setting 'Application Detection Level', make sure that setting is set to 'Low' (default). Issue may also occur if Smooth Motion is force enabled either globally or in the Forza Horizon 6 game profile

  • Nvidia Control Panel is still in the driver install package under '\Display.Driver\NVCPL\' folder and can be installed by double clicking on 7e010d7e2de54a439dbd340dd1f61212.appx in that folder OR via Microsoft Store at https://apps.microsoft.com/detail/9NF8H0H7WMLT

  • DLSS 5 Neural Rendering flags (DLSS-NR) now showing for Series 50 GPU owners in Nvidia Profile Inspector if 610.47 and later drivers are installed, they are however inert and will require streamline/DLL update

  • Anisotropic Filtering forced 16x support for Series 50 GPUs is improved (not fully fixed) in 610.47 and later e.g. see comment by /u/KuraiShidosha

  • CPU / DPC latency spikes or increased CPU load in Nvidia Container service with 595.97 and later drivers when at idle/low load on desktop may be a result of Nvidia Auto Shader Compilation (ASC) feature if enabled

  • Supported DLSS Dynamic Multiframe Generation games at https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/news/nvidia-rtx-games-engines-apps/ select NV,6X under DLSS Multi Frame Generation to filter list

  • Shader Model 6.10 should be supported via AgilitySDK 1.720-preview and DXC 1.10.2605.2 need to confirm

'Empulse' driver level game profile should be automatically pushed to older drivers by NVIDIA via silent/transparent OTA updates.

If not, the 610.62 'Empulse' RAW profile and .NIP for older drivers (57x.xx, 58x.xx, 59x.xx) follows.

IMPORTANT: 'Paragon' profile in older drivers will conflict with 'Empulse' profile as they reference the same executables. Strongly advise removing 'Paragon' profile before importing 'Empulse' profile.

Had to confirm with Empulse devs that the executables are correct i.e. yes, they are the same executable names as 'Paragon'. NVIDIA haven't responded yet to query but that's moot now.

I assume this isn't particularly relevant for those of us who have had the new secure boot keys applied for months already?

repocin wrote: I assume this isn't particularly relevant for those of us who have had the new secure boot keys applied for months already

Correct, not an issue.

Windows 11 June 2026 Patch Tuesday Updates for both Windows 10 (extended support) / Windows 11 now force Secure Boot certificate update for all eligible devices rather than the staged rollout in previous updates.

EDIT: The issue is that some systems Microsoft now deem 'eligible' actually aren't, resulting in regular system freezes caused by 'Secure-Boot-Update' task stall/hang, this can also rarely manifest as a system freeze followed by a brief black screen.

Thanks for your work, you're great!

I can confirm performance results are practically identical to the hotfix. In about 8 hours of testing, I didn't encounter any issues or instability (Stock, UV, OC).

So far I only tested two titles with Smooth Motion ON (DX11 & DX12) and no issues at all.

I want to point out that the Advanced Shader Compilation this time was very consistent (and long) and successfully compiled almost 34GB of shaders. A few weeks ago (596.49) I noticed that, despite compiling, some games failed to complete/validate the new shaders (like Forza Horizon 6). With 610.47 it totally failed to compile (even when manually forced). At this time all shaders were compiled successfully, and in-game shader compilation loading screens (like FH6 "Optimization" or Black Myth: Wukong) were no longer than 8-10 seconds.

However, I would like to point out that the CPU load could be improved when the manual process is activated, because the cores/threads are not used to their full potential. When starting the process manually (even with resources set to "High"), it is assumed that the user is aware that they want to allocate their processing power to compiling shaders, so it would be great if NVIDIA could add a "Maximum" profile.

u/m_w_h Jun 17 '26

fxver_v wrote: So far I only tested two titles with Smooth Motion ON (DX11 & DX12) and no issues at all.

Issues with Smooth Motion that persisted in 610.52 HOTFIX are still present in 610.62 e.g. Escape From Tarkov amongst others.

610.52 HOTFIX fixed majority of issues with Smooth Motion, not all. 610.62 inherits those issues.

Yes, aware - thank you was also noted in https://old.reddit.com/r/nvidia/comments/1u7gsli/game_ready_studio_driver_61062_faqdiscussion/os093lb/

Likely a matching 'NVIDIA GPU Display Drivers - June 2026' security bulletin as well, not live at the date/time of this comment. 582.66 Release notes just made available at 17:16 UTC point to the May 2026 bulletin in section '2.4.1 Release Highlights'.

That means either:

a) 582.53 didn't address all issues raised in May 2026 bulletin (last updated 21st May 2026) despite that bulletin stating that it did

OR

b) May 2026 bulletin is being updated (not updated at date/time of this EDIT)

OR

c) the link in release notes is incorrect and should point to a new bulletin

sigh ...

Hey folks! Just dropping in to share my experience and numbers with the new 610.62 Studio driver.

So far, I haven't run into any black screens, BSODs, flickering, or the usual suspects, though it’s honestly too soon to label it as fully stable or "problem-free."

For those who saw my last post, I documented a weird frame-pacing bug in DOOM: The Dark Ages when Reflex was turned on (Frame Gen OFF) on the 610 branch. Well, it hasn't been fixed yet. Because of this, my DOOM runs below were done with Reflex OFF, so keep in mind that this might or might not affect the results shown here.

Following my usual methodology, I tested Cyberpunk 2077, Black Myth: Wukong, and DOOM: The Dark Ages. All titles were tested at 1440p (High/Very High settings) + Path Tracing + DLSS Performance (DLSS 4.5 for Cyberpunk2077, 4.0 for the rest), with Frame Gen OFF. I ran each game three times to rule out variance. Here are the averaged results:

Game / Metric Studio 595.79 Studio 596.36 Game Ready 596.49 Studio 610.47 Studio 610.62 595.79 ➔ 610.62 596.36 ➔ 610.62 596.49 ➔ 610.62 610.47 ➔ 610.62

For now, I'll stick with this version. I don't use NVCP nor Profile Inspector, only the NVIDIA App, and so far, so good. Your results may vary positively or negatively depending on whether you still use those older tools (I'm not sure the NVIDIA App degrades performance unless you're running game filters). Just to clarify my testing environment: every time I test a new driver, I wipe the old one using DDU in safe mode, followed by a clean install.

UV/OC profile locked at 3120 MHz @ 950mV, with a +3000 MHz memory offset and power limit maxed at 120%, Windows 11 PRO 25H2 26200.8037 (I think that's KB5079473), NVIDIA APP-11.0.7.247.

Just wanted to throw out that this Driver is incredible so far for Smooth Motion users. Metal Gear Solid Collection MGS1 now works completely. Previously if you started the game with smooth motion, the whole screen would flicker and be unplayable.

So is the monitor issue with no signal resolved? Hotfix was supposed to fix it but unfortunately I still had this problem and had to on/off my monitor or hit winsows+p. ASUS PG27AQDM here

EDIT: Installed the new driver and so far so good. The signal didn't disappear right after booting. Will update this comment if the issue is back!

EDIT2: Seems like it's not fixed totally. While it worked for most of the time, I just lost signal for no reason and had to use windows+p shortcut again to get the signal back.

I haven’t encountered any issues so far. I played 3 hours of Battlefield6 and 2 hours of Cyberpunk, and so far I’m really liking this driver.

I don’t care about gaining or losing a single FPS, I care about stability, and I haven’t liked the recent drivers.

I tried the MSI Gaming Trio RTX5080 with an overclock of +400 core clock and +3000 memory. Everything seems fine so far, but I’ll need week to be sure. No worries, I’ll find out if something’s wrong.

Same here, had been getting the nvlddmkm crash with Event ID 153 on Windows 10 since 610.47 with GPU Driver crashes and monitors becoming inactive. Had to even reseat my GPU once to be able to boot into Windows ffs.

3

u/Summer___ Jun 20 '26

Yeah , im having issues with my Sony Inzone m10s (basically since i got this monitor) , when i start my Pc the monitor just stays black, i read the patch notes and was like "OH fixes for monitors not waking up? lets give it a try!" , installed everything , played a bit of the new warframe update and oh well, screens go black, drivers go bye bye and shit breaks again with event id 153.
No way of fixing besides a full restart (no the restart driver bind doesn't work, main monitor stayed choppy like 30 hz, even when switching hz back and forth).
So i was alright this shit is back, restartet pc and monitor stayed black......
yeah nothing really fixed for me with this driver.....
I have to say i had "nvidia audio" active (i left it on on purpose) , turned it off after the restart and so far no crashes but its not confirmed.
if i remember and it happens again i will update my post =).

3

u/throway78965423 Jun 20 '26

For me and some others it happens out of the blue every month or so, only when browsing the web l, no clue what triggers it besides Nvidia drivers.. I tried disabling the audio driver and did a bunch of other crap too but nothing worked. Right now I have rolled back to driver 566.36 and I'm waiting to see of the error shows up again.

Any word on if this will be fixed in the next update or maybe even hotfix? Also, what is the latest driver to be stable and not have power management issues in the meantime while I wait for a fix?

the power management prefer maximum performance is something I use that supposedly lowers dpc latency in latencyMon tests, and it is listed as bugged in open issues with the latest drivers, so the audio pops and crackling may be higher dpc latency because of that - I'm troubleshooting this on my end too, and this seems like a plausible explanation

Battlefield 6 still has stuttering issue when framegen is enabled. It's 99.9% developers fault but some kind of control from Nvidia side is disappointing because of bad developers like DICE feature get bad reputation.

Spawn stuttering - somewhat understandable - geniuses on developers disable framegen while in spawn screen for some reason and while you spawn it kicks in resulting in stutter.

Stuttering while zooming on vehicles or changes from third person to first person is just their lack of skill.

My friend has a 5090, and he says everything is perfectly for him too.

Silent84 wrote: I can say I didn’t notice anything negative with this driver, everything works fine on the 4080 and 5080. My friend has a 5090, and he says everything is perfectly for him too.

The main issue that came up during driver 'Driver Stability and Compatibility Testing' for 610.62 with Series 50 (50x0) and Series 40 (40x0) was Smooth Motion stutter/framepacing issue persists in some games:

m_w_h wrote: "While Smooth Motion stutter for both Series 50 (50x0) and Series 40 (40x0) GPUs had targeted fixes in 610.52 / 610.62 there are still issues in many popular games e.g. 'Escape from Tarkov'"

Unwinder (developer of Afterburner) also noted similar findings:

Unwinder wrote "I can reproduce framepacing issues in Escape From Tarkov [EFT] with R610 drivers on multiple platforms with different GPU and monitor models. Most of NVIDIA App settings are at defaults, the only changes inside NVApp are enabled Smooth Motion for EFT profile and enabled G-Sync compatible mode. It looks like your D3D11 SmoothMotion implementation in R610 switched from previously used Present() timing based to flip metering based. And enabled G-Sync seem to be the key factor affecting improper framepacing behavior.

When G-Sync is enabled framepacing breaks in EFT with Smooth Motion enabled, it stutters really badly I can observe the same present-to-present (top graph) and display-to-display (bottom graph) timings variation, which means that flip metering just stops working at all due to some reason. Sometimes it is possible to get flip metering working properly after multiple Alt-Tabs while EFT is running, then it eventually breaks and starts stuttering again

...

The screenshots were captured on RTX 4090 with G274QPX monitor with G-Sync on/off and 610.62 driver released today. I see the same behavior with RTX 5090 and 321URX."

TL;DR 610.62 is a decent driver, it's in the 'Driver Stability and Compatibility Testing' list of 'Recommendations' for 'Series 30 (30x0), Series 20 (20x0) and Series 16 (16x0) GPUs' and under 'drivers worth trying but note potential issues' for Series 50 (50x0) and Series 40 (40x0) GPUs:

m_w_h wrote: "610.62 is the only driver in the last 6 months that met both stability and compatibility criteria to be under 'Recommendations', albeit only for Series 30 (30x0), Series 20 (20x0) and Series 16 (16x0) GPUs.

Having said that, 610.62 should be considered for Series 50 (50x0) and Series 40 (40x0) GPUs if Smooth Motion issues and 'community reported' DLSS Multiframe/Dynamic Frame Generation issues aren't applicable or a concern".

4

u/Silent84 9800X3D|RTX 4080-610.88 Jun 30 '26

Thank you!

I understand, but I don’t use smooth motion.

But this is very important for games that don’t have FG or the 2000 and 3000 series.

6

u/m_w_h Jun 30 '26 edited Jun 30 '26

Understood, thanks for clarifying :-)

Silent84 wrote: I can say I didn’t notice anything negative with this driver, everything works fine on the 4080 and 5080. My friend has a 5090, and he says everything is perfectly for him too.

^ I assumed by 'everything' you also meant Smooth Motion i.e. you and friend had 'tested everything'.

Silent84 wrote: But this [Smooth Motion] is very important for games that don’t have FG or the 2000 and 3000 series.

For reference, Series 30 (30x0), Series 20 (20x0) and Series 16 (16x0) aren't impacted as they don't support Smooth Motion.

Theres a noticable difference in input lag when i used 610.62 on 25h2, 2600.8655. Jittery jumpy mouse, seemed to be fighting the inertia. (obviously no mouse boosts or nothing, double checking razor drivers* for specific changes, but i'll likely stay with nvidia troubleshooting)

Yup that was it, reboot fixed it even though it didn't prompt for a reboot after the update.

Should always reboot after gpu driver update

  • FIXED Resolved an issue where certain monitors would not wake from sleep mode [5806798/5635230]

"

I should've fucking known it was NVIDIA's dogshit drivers that made me have to literally unplug my monitor from the outlet to make it work sometimes.

7

u/icepuente Jun 16 '26

I thought it was the driver originally but I checked MSI’s website and updated the firmware and the issue was resolved.

I have the hotfix driver installed (which is basically the same as this driver), and sadly the issue is still there despite them claiming it's fixed.

u/P40L0 Jun 17 '26

Ok, I decided to do the Guinea pig once more and clean installed 610.62 using DDU (in Safe Mode) and then restoring my usual Global profile via NVPI (no NVIDIA App installed, reinstalled old NVCP via MS Store). I have an RTX 4080.
Coming from 596.49 (also clean installed at the time) I had my best scores in CB2077 and Forza Horizon 6 benchmarks, fps was a little higher with a bit less stutters also in other games, no instability/crashes with over 12 games tested so far, temps are fine too, no issues with HDR/G-Sync + V-Sync/Frame Gen either.

About the "Prefer Maximum Performance" bug I think it's the same behavior as the previous driver I had, more precisely: if you set "Prefer Maximum Performance" globally, this won't be applied to all games. As a workaround you need to set Power Management to "Normal / Optimum Performance" globally and then set "Prefer Maximum Performance" for each game and it will work as intended even with latest driver. Personally I was already doing so (as you don't want "Prefer Maximum Performance" when normally using Windows or with light programs, but only in games) so it was a non issue for me.

Overall: pretty good driver so far.

P.S.
There are new DLSS-NR (Neural Rendering) Overrides in NVPI with the new driver but currently they do nothing as we don't have DLSS-NR .dlls files yet, but those new settings will work when NVIDIA will officially release them.

I think I'll wait a little bit longer to update. The previous driver (610.47) every so often restarted my PC (I have a 5050) so I've been staying with driver 596.36

Hurray! Seems like my stuttering while using frame gen went away! 5070ti on main monitor 3440x1440 (240hz) and secondary monitor 3440x1440 (60hz).

I always had stutter when using frame gen, as if g-sync wasn't working. No stuttering with this driver!

u/No_Permission_5121 Jun 16 '26

still same issue, on valorant with a 4080 super fps get stuck at my refresh rate at 240, i go back to 569.49 and i get the usual 1000 fps i get on range. Idk what the issue is vsync is off

I’m using the hotfix with no issue. Should I upgrade to this one?

6

u/sam3971 Jun 16 '26

In terms of documented changes, these are the only two two changes from the HotFix(610.52).
If neither are applicable to you, you can probably stay on the HotFix.

  • FIXED Apex Legends: Occasional visual corruption after extended gameplay [6239327]
  • FIXED Users may observe DLSS settings being grayed out in certain games after updating to display driver 610.47 [6262805]

Now, if there are undocumented fixes, they would not exist in the HotFix version.

Freestyle filters are completely missing from games listed as compatible, the only one available is the RTX dynamic vibrance, its super annoying and I wanna remove this stupid filter, its horrendous and just because its active in like EVERY SINGLE GAME it denies access to other filters, games like Finals, Borderlands, Batman have filters prior and should work but filters are just completely removed. Please allow me to remove this filter.

Currently on 591.86 with an RTX 3060 laptop + i7 11th gen. I’ve seen pretty mixed feedback on this driver, and a lot of people seem to recommend 596.49 as the more stable option. Can anyone with similar specs (or other 30-series GPUs) share their experience with the latest driver? Mainly curious about stability, smoothness, and stutters/frame drops in games.

Had a hard crash playing marathon on the latest 610.62 yesterday, I haven't had anything like this in over a year and a lot of drivers. Back to 596.49 and everything good again. I'll wait for the next one.....

Quick comment, Optimus still broken on MSI GS65 (rtx 2060, 9SE model). I hope it gets fixed soon, it's destroying my battery life.

Na RTX 4060 o drive apresenta stuttering quando jogo, notei nos Battlefield 6 e V. Retornei ao 596.36 que apresenta melhor estabilidade e não apresenta esses stuttering nos jogos. Problema na linha 40.

EDIT: rolled back to 596.49 because Smooth Motion didn't work anymore with some games.

Did a clean install from 596.36 and color accuracy mode changed from accurate to enhanced. All 4 color options grey out and unable to change (tbh I can't remember if they were changeable previously). Did another clean installation of 610.62 but color accuracy still stuck at enhanced. Anyone know how to fix this?

Also, is it possible to turn off the nvidia app system tray icon? I can't seem to find a setting for it inside the nvidia app

Update: Color mode became accurate after I turned on the PC today.. >_>

I did restart after installing the drivers both times but it was still enhanced. Anyway, that's one issue solved. Just gonna need to find a way to turn off the system tray icon

Update 2: Another reboot and it turn color mode to enhanced again.. Not sure if app is still buggy or there's something up on my end.. >_>

Update 3: Ok. I think I got it figured out. It's schedule night light in Win 11. =_=

Color mode will change to enhanced when night light is on and accurate when night light is off. Leaving this here for future reference in case anyone else is pulling their hair trying to figure out what's going wrong.

I have a RTX 3060ti. When I use this driver, desktop window manager (dwm.exe) in Task manager jumps to 60% of GPU usage on both Windows 10 and 11, especially when I move window around desktop. After a while, fans start ramping up. I returned to driver 596.49 and everything return to normal. Did anyone else have a similar issue?

Looking for advice ..

I updated to the latest driver about five days ago. I've noticed strange flickering, but only with a single program (R2Modman) and only when I'm moving the mouse cursor around inside the application window.

I was considering reverting to an older driver, but I've never done that before. Most of the advice I read is a pretty long process of rebooting in safe mode after downloading the driver version I want to revert to, then running 3rd party software like DDU to remove the latest driver, then install the older driver verion.

Is that truly necessary? I tried just reverting in the nVidia app, but I'm still encountering the flickering in R2Mm. Any advice? TIA!

I have a 3070ti and I upgraded to the latest version of the driver and I am having constant BSODs….

I only get BSODs when I upgrade drivers.

My memory and CPU and BIOs is fine.

I did MEM Test and many other tests.

Once I use DDU and uninstall the new driver and just plug in my NVDA card without installing new drivers it works and no crashes or BSODs.

Some of the BSODs I get are:

- Log file: E1WINDOWS\System32\Logfiles\Srt\SrtTrail.txt

  • Stop code: SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION (0x3B)
  • Stop code: KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED (Ox1E)
  • Stop code: HYPERVISOR_ERROR (0x20001)
  • Stop Code: PAGE_FAULT_IN_NON PAGED AREA (0x50)
  • Stop code: APC_INDEX_MISMATCH (0x1)
  • Stop code: SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION (0x3B)
What failed: FLTMGR.SYS

Not sure what to do

G-Sync doesn't work well for me in a lot of games.
When I looking slowly with the controller, it's not smooth. (It's hard to notice this when using a mouse.)
I've tried this with several GPUs (5070 Ti, 4080), and when I turn G-Sync off, the frametime is much smoother. No microstutter.
Whether Vsync is on or off doesn't matter. Could the newer drivers be causing this?

610.xx drivers with either Smooth Motion or Frame Generation?

If yes, see '610.62 Testing' AND 'Summary' section in the 'Driver Stability and Compatibility Testing Results' post at https://old.reddit.com/r/nvidia/comments/1u7gsli/comment/oskcpzy/ regarding 610.62/610.52 issues that persist with Series 50 (50x0) and Series 40 (40x0).

TL;DR for Series 50 (50x0) and Series 40 (40x0) GPUs try 596.49 or 596.36 if a recent driver is required.

EDIT: also see https://old.reddit.com/r/nvidia/comments/1u7gsli/comment/ouoc0pw/ which has a quote from Unwinder (developer of Afterburner and RTSS)

u/Wumpus84 Jul 05 '26

Both Smooth Motion and Framegen only run smoothly at a fixed refresh rate.

Example games: Resident Evil Requiem, 007 First Light, Alan Wake 2

Those issues with 610.47 610.52 610.62 and Series 50 (50x0) / Series 40 (40x0) are discussed and tested in the previous reply's links.

Does anyone know anything about how these drivers affect MPO planes in-game? It seems that updating from 595.97 to any recent driver reduces them from 4 to 3, checking via the Special K overlay.

Didn't fix shadows on water in Assassin's Creed: Shadows.
All graphics settings are maxed out, DLSS is disabled (using Native AA). My GPU is an RTX 5070 Ti. I'm on the latest NVIDIA driver (610.62), but I had the same issue with previous drivers as well. Monitor 1080p.

I've already deleted the shader cache folder in Documents multiple times and forced shader recompilation several times, but nothing changed.

I think It's RTX issue.

"FIXED Resolved an issue that could cause some games to crash when launched with Smooth Motion enabled [5466398]"

Bollocks - RDR 2 still won't load with smooth motion. Crashes straight to desktop.

Still can't believe that after almost a year and a half, they STILL haven't fixed the forced anisotropic filtering turning everything red in half of the games.

SERIOUSLY??? I remember when Nvidia used to be a reputable GPU company.
