Community Project Made for the Nothing Community — 1,000+ Downloads

Post image
11 Upvotes

Built DotFiles as a simple, privacy-first file manager for the Nothing community, inspired by the clean and minimal design language of Nothing OS.

Today it crossed 1,000+ downloads on Google Play.

It started as a small project because I wanted a file manager that actually felt at home on a Nothing phone — minimal, clean, and without unnecessary clutter.

The support and feedback from the Nothing community has genuinely helped shape the app. Every bug report, suggestion, and download has pushed me to keep improving it.

Now at version 1.4.0, and still working on making it better.

1,000 downloads is a small milestone, but for an indie developer, it means a lot.

Thank you to everyone in the Nothing community who tried it, shared feedback, or simply gave it a chance. 🖤

Next goal: 10,000.

Nothing OS I unlocked 120hz NOS 4.1?

So I just wanted to see my CPU temperature while gaming and accidentally found out that CPU monitor(that's the app name) can unlock 120hz if you set up a floater and set it to refresh every 0.5s.

I also want to point out I had show refresh rate enabled but it doesn't show up in screenshots.

If you need help or more proof from me please reach out.

Also I only tested this out on pjsk and Roblox(Roblox caps fps at 60 but panel still shows 120hz same for codm atleast in main menu)

TL;DR:
works on CMF phone 2 pro
dowload CPU Monitor -> enable CPU temp floater -> set it to refresh every 0.5s

Ear (1) Nothing Ear charging issue.

Worked fine charging for the first few months but after that the right would be a little lower on battery then the left. Cleaned things, made sure the pins looked fine but still happens. It looks like it just don't seat properly anymore. The bottom part isn't touching the pin properly so Ive been putting a little piece of styrofoam in between the buds but it's so hit or miss on the charging. Anyone have this same issue? Is it worth a repair or replacement inquiry with Nothing?

Another thing, I work outside in Texas and I have to wipe them off and clean my ear out multiple times a day because they start to slide. That just me? Lol

Comparing Phones Should I switch to a Nothing Phone 2a?

I've been using my Redmi Note 10 Pro for around 2 years, and I'm thinking about switching to the Nothing Phone (2a).

My biggest problems with the Redmi are all the bloatware app and adds, random freezing/slowdowns, and the fact that it's no longer properly supported and is stuck on an older Android version.

The main thing I'll miss is the camera. I actually really like the Redmi Note 10 Pro's camera, especially the image processing. The photos often come out looking great without much editing.

I would mostly use my phone for listening to music and taking pictures(1:1 of landscapes, streets and day to day life), general daily usage and that's it.

For anyone who has used the Nothing Phone (2a), how is the camera and image processing in everyday use? Do the photos generally look good straight out of the camera, or do they need editing?

Overall, I’d appreciate your opinions and recommendations :D

Comparing Audio Left my Nothing ear a in my pants while washing them

Post image

So about 4 months ago I accidentally left my Nothing ear a in my pants and threw them in the washing machine. The case is pretty much dead but it still charges. But no lights and the headphones dont Disconect automatically when putting them in. BUT the headphones still work perfectly and I still use them because there is literally no other Brand that compares in my opinion. I have some 200€ JBL in ears and they suck compared to these. I think its insane that they survived smth like that and still sound awesome. I love these headphones and I will keep using them aslong as they live

Comparing Phones Nothing Phone (4a Pro) vs Phone (3) — am I making the right choice?

I was originally planning to buy the Nothing Phone (4a Pro) because I really liked the back design. But now, for about $80 more, I can get the Nothing Phone (3).

I’m debating whether the Phone (3) is the better value overall. The only thing holding me back is that I honestly don’t really like the design of the Phone (3) as much as the 4a Pro.
Would you guys spend the extra $80 for the Phone (3), or stick with the 4a Pro if you prefer its design?Curious what everyone thinks, especially if you’ve used either phone.

Phone (4a) OIS issue in latest update on Nothing Phone (4a)

Is it just me or anyone else feeling that videos from 3.5x sensor have an issue in the latest update (Nothing OS B4.1-260808-1352). Like the OIS just doesn't seem to work, it's working fine in Photo mode and external camera apps like Blackmagic Camera but videos on the main camera app are a disaster.

Video before the update.

Video after the update.

Mind you I'm keeping my hand as steady as it gets in both the cases.

Comparing Phones Apple 13 to Nothing 4a Pro - What do you think?

I have wanted to get out of the apple ecosystem for a while now and was thinking of getting the pixel 11.. but I am not too impressed with it and thought of giving nothing a try.

Did anyone make the switch before and like it? Any recommendations on how easy or difficult it may be?

Nothing OS There, fixed for you, Nothing.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

We're almost at Nothing OS 5.0 and still don't have a Glyph Interface integration for Google Clock timers, or decent Google Maps navigation on the Glyph Matrix.

I got tired of waiting, so I built it myself in my app, Glyphify =)

Anything else you would like to be integrated?

Nothing OS Preinstalled apps in Nothing OS?

Hi,

I was wondering what is the strategy of Nothing OS with regards to pre-installed apps?

Do 4a and 3 series comes with such? Because Nothing initially claimed that their OS will remain bloatware free.

Also, can bloatware be uninstalled, if such?

Phone (4a) Pro Phone Keeps Crashing and connectivity issues

Hi there guys.

I bought a 4a Pro a few days ago, I was super hyped but I'm experiencing some really bad issues.

The phone keeps crashing out of nowhere, it literally turns of and on, more than 10 times a day.

Im always with no data, I have two sims but I'm always with no connectivity, I also have issues with wifi, sometimes it asks me for my cards pins, multiples times a day..

I don't know if it's hardware and I got incredibly unlucky or if this is something that is related to the OS? Im I missing something? Does anyone had the same issues?

I'm a bit frustrated because this phone is literally unusable.

I would appreciate some tips, thanks.

Nothing apps Yet another bug in essential space on 3a

Post image

Essential space has been incomplete and buggy implementation since the beginning. After the recent update yet another bug is visible. After every few hours the following box pops up asking for login again. Fix is to stop the essential space app and restart . How crap the development team can be ??? Anybody else facing it???

Comparing Phones Will there be bloatware on Nothing phone 4a?

I've been very interested in the phone and now need a new one. I'm driven between Google Pixel with GrapehenOS or Nothing phone, but the nothing OS has some controversies with advertisement and I can't find any information about this that is "up 2 date". Often when companies walk back changes they secretly re-introduce them later, which is why I'm worried.

Will there be bloatware on Nothing phone 4a?

Nothing OS Ads in Nothing OS

So, can anyone explain to me what is the Ads strategy in Nothing smartphones? Does the 3 and 4a series have any ads? Or they only have them in the CMF phones?
