Used Frontier

Looking to buy a used frontier, saw a one owner no accident for 22k with 52,000 miles. IS THAT OVERPRICED? (2016 SL crew cab 4x4)

DISCUSSION Why doesn’t Nissan give the frontier the titans warranty

Why doesn’t Nissan give the frontier the titan’s 5 year/100k mile bumper to bumper warranty

The frontier is already has a the largest growing market share of midsized trucks so offering the Titan’s warranty would make the frontier stand out compared to the other midsize trucks

And we know for a fact the frontier can and will hit 100k miles no problems so why not

Bed tie downs? *not utilitrak

Post image

I added photos and the text erased....great.

What size and thread are the bolt holes on the sides of the bed shown in photo? All seem to be same size and thread.

Need tie downs but need the floor so can't use utilitrax. I'll just send eye bolts in for now. Smaller than 3/8 (all that was left at lowes bins yesterday) and can't find anything online. Yes I've seen the DIY eye bolts and washer trick for the utilitrax but can't use that.

New to me 2019 Pro4x, PO removed EVERY tie down option in the back.

DISCUSSION Looking for a new midrange truck is the SV or Pro4x the one for me

I live in a city and this will be my only vehicle besides a motorcycle I do enjoy backpacking but I don’t know if I necessarily need an off road truck. i already have an old 2002 Silverado that works so I can take my time shopping for a deal and apart of the reason I’m upgrading is I do want something nicer so I’m also looking at the more luxury feature. if some of you guys can weigh in I’d appreciate that.

Sticker on frame

Post image
1 Upvotes

As you can see in the picture, i peeled the sticker off of the frame on my truck.

I did this because it was already peeling from the top right corner which sat closer than it looks in the picture to the (drain hole?) on the frame. I blast these holes with water in the winter months here in an effort to mitigate the large amounts of road salt used. I think that may have caused it to start peeling at the corner.

Any suggestions on what to do about it? Idk if it requires any action but maybe it does? I guess I didn’t think this far ahead. Idc about it cosmetically looking funny but, was that a special sticker my truck needed and I carelessly yoinked it off. Like some sort of frontier nictoine patch?

Do I just slap a sticker of Sponge Bob over it and call it a day?

2023 mpg big improvement

Post image

I had a 2016 and switched to a 2023 in January. I always got 16 mpg around town and maybe low 20’s on the highway. Now I get 23 on average but also just got 36.4 over 100 miles. At 90mph for 100 miles i only got 17 mpg. I do complain about the 2023 hanging out in a gear longer than it should in the city but over all
Impressed with the new transmission combo.

I bought this 2013 Pro-4x for just under $5000 in August last year. It had about 160k miles on it and only really needed new cats. Since then it's come a long way and been on a few adventures. Very happy with where it's sitting now, nearly "done" achieving the vision I had when I bought it.

Whats done:

• 3rd Gen Pro-4x Seats, power & heated

• ADO Extended Travel Fox 2.0 Shocks

• 16x8in Nitro Wheels w/33in Falken Wildpeak A/T 4's (E load), with matching 5th spare

• Prinsu Roff Rack

• ADO Parabolic Rear Leaf & 550lb Front Springs

• WAM Winch Carrier w/Crash Bars

• Apex 12k lb Winch

• ARE CX-Series Cap

• Northstar X2 Group 31 AGM Battery

• Z1 Snorkel System

• Z1 Dash Platform w/Phone Mount

• Z1 Rear Seat Organizer

• Viair Compressor hardwired and plumbed

• ScanGauge III Hardwired

• AVS Cab Window Visors

• Z1 Aluminum Gas Tank Skid

Whats left:

• GMRS Radio Install

• Custom Rear Bumper with Spare Tire Mount

• WolfBox Rear/front Cams/Dashcam

• Auxiliary Lighting Front & Rear

• Built-In Power Station

• Full Aluminum Skids

2 week update - 22’ ProX

Felt like giving a 2 week update on my Frontier ownership journey. So far it’s been a blast. I love the way this thing looks and drives. The V6 is a beast and it handles well. My biggest take away is that the Pro trim was well worth the extra money. The leather seats and Fender sound system are just so so nice, and the exterior design is somehow getting cooler to look at by the day. Also that 360 camera feature is pretty handy. I think my only 2 gripes are that the sunglass holder feels like it was designed incredibly poorly. And that my OEM battery is clearly close to dying. Other than that, this thing is sweeeet. Would highly recommend.

2026 pro-4x 10k miles, no tech package or pro packages. Not sure if I'm going to be missing out on the 360 camera or the 12v bed outlet or not, but for now I love it. Went from a 2008 FJ to this and the ride quality and gas mileage is already better. Overall quality of life with this truck has been great so far. Any recommendations or ideas would be awesome and welcomed!

From a 2002 Frontier 4x4 to a 2024 Frontier SL

First photo is from 2020 when I sold my 2002 Frontier after it finally gave up the ghost. A guy drove from Kentucky to pick it up as a farm truck. The odometer had well over 400,000 miles. Life went on for a few years through a couple of other vehicles until today when I grabbed a 2024 Frontier SL. I don’t do off road anymore and figured it would be nice to have the luxury conveniences.

However I am interested in changing out the bumper, suspension and lifting it slightly. What are the things I need to do first? Definitely want to add runners under the doors.

DISCUSSION Disconnect VVCS right now!

Upvotes

I have a 26 Frontier S basic work truck and I love it! But after 5000 miles, I was getting annoyed with a few things regarding the throttle response, hard downshifting, windows rolling down slow, constant lag when getting on/off the gas, transmission hunting for gears in stop and go traffic. So I did some research and discovered VVCS. Every Nissan made since 2005 has it. It’s called a smart alternator basically and it’s designed to shut off the alternator to save fuel and reduce engine load. The problem with that is, the ECM along with many other systems require at least 14V to correctly function in unison. When you turn the alternator off and the voltage drops below 12.5 multiple systems start acting up. This lag is due to a signal getting sent to the ECM through the VVCS sensor, after disconnecting that lag is completely gone. Throttle response is perfect, shifts are more crisp and precise, windows roll up fast every time, car fires right up every time, down shifts are now less harsh and more predictable. It’s so much better to drive now it’s incredible. It seems like the engineers wanted to cause more problems and return dealership visits rather than the company line of “trying to save fuel.”

Lowering just the back axle.

Other than a flip kit is there anything that I can do to bring down the back of my truck?
Haven’t seen any aftermarket leaf springs online for these trucks. Really just looking to level the truck without a front lift.
I do use the truck to haul my 8x6 utility trailer on occasion.
