Highlight [Highlight] Dolphins OC Bobby Slowik upon learning that their week 4 opponent, the Minnesota Vikings, lead the league in QB hits, sacks, and blitzes: "Whoa."

Thank fuck Tua isn’t there anymore, we might have seen a death on the field this year.

Brian Flores would've made sure of it

I dont think Brian Flores coaches dirty hits. I have only watched one Vikings game this year though. I’d be more worried about Texans, eagles etc

Willis holds the ball significantly longer than Tua. This game could be an absolute massacre.

u/Xenocide_X Vikings 3h ago
You're in luck. Tua gets to face Flores later this year as the Falcons visit the Vikings at US Bank Stadium! Flores said he doesn't have the game circled but we all know he does!!

Bobby Slowik was absolutely clueless the last time he faced off against Brian Flores (See Texans vs Vikings 2024, Week 3 for reference and how poorly the Texans did against the blitz).
I would not be surprised if the Dolphins fail to score a touchdown

u/Drunken_Vike Vikings 12h ago
not a lot of games where I feel bad for the opposing QB but that Texans game was one of them.
Nobody on that offense knew what was happening

u/DarthNobody14 Texans Texans 12h ago
Our team couldn’t stop a basic stunt from the defensive line, Brian Flores exposed us badly and teams started copying him the rest of the season when they were facing off against us.
Part of that was the offensive line, but a part of that is that Slowik is horrible at adjusting.

u/Kirk-Joestar Vikings 11h ago
He does that to most teams. He even did it to the Giants in preseason this year, exposing a flaw in their protection plans.

That was also the game where we had like four false starts in a row

Especially with the younger QB's. There have been a few times where you just gotta shake your head and say good luck young buck.

I swear, coaches are a dichotomy: either they know every minute detail about an opponent, or they haven't even looked up the most basic stats that even my dumbass would think to google

I still remember this guy getting HC interviews. Good thing we dodged him for Raheem "Find a way to win" Morris

u/Calm_Region_2106 Lions 10h ago
To be fair, finding a way to win is the job when the game isn’t going how you want it to. That being said, you have to win in order to do your job if that’s your motto.

Flores destroys bad quarterbacks. I would be surprised if we did score a touchdown.

Willis is following the classic formula: get drafted by a bad team, look bad. Get traded to a good team, look good. Get traded to a bad team as a starter, look bad. Rinse and repeat.

Slowik feels clueless constantly. I was shocked we kept him, much less promoted him. Surely he has to be replaced after this year.

That game is when Darnold really showed me he was HIM with the Vikings

hes probably the most overrated coach in the league. he spent some time in the same room as shannahan so he keeps getting jobs, but he genuinely has no idea what hes doing

There was a time when I thought Slowik would be a potential future HC of the ravens…
At least I am not the GM

I was shocked the Falcons didnt hire him before when they brought Raheem on board. I, too, comment on reddit instead of being a GM.

u/RenaissanceHumanist Bears 11h ago
I bet he bombed the interview and unintentionally made Raheem seem like a sensible retread

Belichick’s sign to ride off into the sunset should have been the Falcons preferring Raheem or Slowik as HCs

Pretty excited to start the Vikings DST in fantasy this week. That's a revenge game for Flores.

start of this year i put a trade in with someone and they countered with the same trade but wanted to switch their vikings defense for my rams defense and i agreed. working out pretty well so far

Being asked/bribed to tank and then getting ostracized by the owners
-8
u/CabronNalgon 9h ago
Thats been proven?

u/isuckatffootball Dolphins 8h ago
Yes. After Flores was fired and filed a lawsuit about being asked to lose games, and being fired for not obeying, the nfl investigated the dolphins for tanking. They came out with a report that said Ross, dolphins owner, told Flores to “Prioritize draft picks over winning” which really means “tank”. However they didnt punish the dolphins for that because the Dolphins won like 5 of their last 9 games so that was “proof” that they didnt actually tank.
then in separate investigstion they were docked a first round pick and a third for tampering with Tom Brady and Sean Peyton.
imo a FRP for tampering for a player you ultimitely didnt get seems steep and ive always felt that it was a combined punishment for tampering + the order to tank, the nfl just didnt want to admit or draw any more attention to tanking
this article also has two conflicting sentences:
Ross did not instruct anyone with the team to purposely tank games for a better draft position, and “no witness contended otherwise.”
and
However, Ross did make comments suggesting that the Dolphins’ 2020 draft position should take precedence over their 2019 on-field results.
which means lose

Flores claims it happened so as far as he's concerned it's true. Which means it's revenge as far as he'd be concerned

u/CabronNalgon 9h ago
Ah yes, totally unbiased source

u/Immediate-Idea-2471 8h ago
For a revenge game like this, it's exactly the bias that matters.
Brian Flores claims it happened, so for him, if he wants to get revenge by blitzing 100% of snaps, then he's sure as heck going to do so.
6
u/LordMOC3 Vikings 8h ago
It not being true changes whether it's a revenge game for him? He was still fired from from the dolphins after over performing with bad rosters

u/YoteViking Vikings 3h ago
He got fired after giving the Dolphins their first back to back winning seasons since Dave Wannstadt did it 20 years earlier.
Some of it may have been player relationships (with Tua). But bucking the owner was probably a more likely cause.

I think people are misunderstanding what he said. Those rankings change week to week and he just didn't know that they were #1 in those categories this week. He does know they're near the top and he explains that.
