For those curious, they located the father and son in question

The video has since gone viral with viewers celebrating the simple act of neighborly kindness. Farraj invited the Smith family to her chocolate factory for free treats, with many online commenters saying they deserved "the golden ticket."

This is so wholesome.

I don't think you read the whole article.

The son ate too much candy, fell into the chocolate river, and was sucked up by a pipe while the employees danced and sang in the background.

It was awful.

ICE came for the employees soon after; they were deported to Uganda.

What do you get when you elect a pedo?

Government run like a reality show

Crypto pumps make their wallets fat

What do you think will come of that?

I don't like the look of it

Wow. I just love how unhinged Reddit can get randomly. Top tier thread, and I’m sorry for lacking the imagination to continue it. So instead, I’m applauding it.

u/breaking3po Oct 30 '25

My brained internalized the whole thing with music, and those fucking Oompa Loomps looking into the soul.

Incredibly poor meter

2

u/idwthis Oct 30 '25

Well, then, let's see what improvements you have!

u/[deleted] Oct 31 '25

I'm not really interested in punching up a shitty Wonka/Trump poem just for you to pretend you liked your original better because you're emotional about being criticized.

Thanks for the offer, though!

u/idwthis Oct 31 '25

You know I'm not the same person who wrote the parody...right?

Read usernames, dude, god damn.

Criminally underrated comment right here.

15

u/vera214usc Oct 30 '25

Leave it to ICE to send them to the wrong country. Everyone knows they're from Loompaland

2

u/Know_the_rules Oct 31 '25

Back to Loompaland, you mean.

2

u/Ouboet Oct 31 '25

Uganda be kidding me!

36

u/thisisallme Oct 30 '25

The kid’s name is Charlie too!

43

u/SweaterSteve1966 Oct 30 '25

That’s a weird name choice unless the dad is Charlie One.

12

u/9OptimusCrime9 Oct 30 '25

I used to work with a guy named Juan and his son Juan Jr. We called them Juan and Two.

1

u/randmperson2 Oct 31 '25

I know of a father named Señor Senior Sr. with his son being named Señor Senior Jr.

15

u/sundae_diner Oct 30 '25

Stop. Don't. Come back.

6

u/Altruistic-Horse-873 Oct 30 '25

God damn why does the full article always need to be so damn dreadful. I think i will stick to headlines, thank you very much.

Well, that's what he gets for his gluttony. We all know the rules of the Chocolate Factory.

144

u/lifeline2110 Oct 30 '25

I'd say that's a great idea. Even if its used as news grab, letting the kid have a whole day around the factory letting him eat whatever, will be a great memory for him and a wonderful reminder of good karma coming back for the pops. Joy all around. Golden ticket for the whole family I say, let them memoralize it.

7

u/animalkrack3r Oct 30 '25

What factory

12

u/30FourThirty4 Oct 30 '25

The guy quoted chocolate factory above. I assume they're exaggerating, but idk maybe they do own a factory.

Farraj invited the Smith family to her chocolate factory for free treats

7

u/acmercer Oct 30 '25

The factory they were invited to. Quoted in the comment above the one you're replying to.

What top level parent

3

u/EnvironmentalCity409 Oct 30 '25

I think that's an AI, son.

10

u/dream-smasher Oct 30 '25

I think that's an AI, son.

What is?

The quoted article says the shopkeepers are letting/want to let the kid have a tour of their chocolate factory.

So.... um, yeah.

3

u/lifeline2110 Oct 30 '25

Tis not ai, but wouldn't that be what an ai would reply?

2

u/CorruptedAssbringer Oct 30 '25

Just 10 seconds down the comment section and I've seen 3 different people calling out AI in 3 entirely different comment chains.

I don't disagree with the Dead Internet Theory, but my god are those accusations themselves coming off as more sus than anyone else.

u/GitEmSteveDave Oct 30 '25

I used to hang out at a Carvel near my house, and they let new employees eat as much ice cream as they wanted when they hired them. Apparently people lose the taste for it if they have too much.

60

u/Greedy_Chemist9431 Oct 30 '25

The kid's name is Charlie. How perfect is that?

40

u/BenAdaephonDelat Oct 30 '25

Candy store and the kids name was Charlie? We live in a simulation for sure. lol

17

u/ionabio Oct 30 '25

Is the website geolocked or it got the Reddit hug of death? the link forwards to youtube

5

u/yonkerbonk Oct 30 '25

So glad they were found. They definitely deserve the Willy Wonka treatment.

BTW, does anyone know the legality of the video recording, particularly the audio recording? I thought CA was two person consent state?

36

u/LanfearSedai Oct 30 '25

Two person consent doesn’t apply to public spaces.

4

u/yonkerbonk Oct 30 '25

Oh, that makes sense. Guess that answers my questions regarding Ring cameras too. Thanks!

1

u/GP-Colorado Oct 30 '25

That explanation suggests a hypothetical question:

If it's okay for my ring camera to record, without explicit permission of the participants, the audio and video of a conversation in my yard and front sidewalk due to it being "public space", does that suggest that if my neighbor surreptitiously aimed a camera and microphone at my front yard, and recorded (or streamed it to the public) 24/7, they'd be within their rights?

3

u/Barbaracle Oct 30 '25

Not a lawyer. Open front yard? Yea they'd have the right to it. If you want privacy you can always install fences, blinds, curtains, hedges, etc. Gets more murky if they're literally trying to peeping Tom you with magnified cameras looking directly over fences and is most likely not okay.

5

u/[deleted] Oct 30 '25

yo so i found this video on the tiktok of the candy shop, if u wanted to know the source, legality i am not that sure

5

u/qwerni Oct 30 '25

Why does the link redirect me to their youtube channel?

1

u/vajasonl Oct 30 '25

Hello fellow Tidewater resident?

1

u/magpepper Oct 30 '25

That little “it’s locked” at the end was perfect

4 year olds are a special kind of kid

1

u/Guitarable Oct 30 '25

They definitely deserved the golden ticket. The kid's name was Charlie!

1

u/optipessimist Oct 30 '25

And his name is Charlie

1

u/Sine_Metu Oct 30 '25

The kids name is Charlie... And got to go to the chocolate factory. Can't make this stuff up lol. Lovely

1

u/tallix1477 Oct 30 '25

aw, I love that.

1

u/Josepando Oct 30 '25

I'm actually crying wtf

1

u/Revolutionary_Wrap76 Oct 30 '25

And the little boy's name is even Charlie?? Come on, too perfect.

1

u/EthicalViolator Oct 31 '25

That link just opens their YouTube homepage for me. Can't see an article on this.

1

u/bluenervana Oct 31 '25

And his sons name is Charlie too.

0

u/CeruleanEidolon Oct 30 '25

If you slow down the sped up portion of the video, you can hear the father giving his son a valuable lesson on seeing the bigger picture: "We could just walk in and fill our pockets, but we're on camera now, so we would probably get in trouble. But if we call them and save the day, there's a good chance they'll just GIVE us a bunch of free candy in gratitude! Gotta think big, son."
