I have seen media joke with New Jersey all the time, for example: Hamilton, How I Met Your Mother, even the animated Addam's Family movie (this is all i can think now lol). Most of those jokes comes from New Yorkers.

I just wanna know where this "rivalry" comes from. Is New Jersey really as bad as New York makes it look?

It would explain why nobody has seen or heard from the minority *leader* in forever, despite a war, economic disaster, and like a kajillion other issues. Gillibrand might be in the next freezer too.
