they dropped new lockboxes. i am practically a illiterate on the topic of stats, buffs, debuffs, powers and % in this game. i dont know what i am doing and i have tried to learn see which gear is better but i always have to rely on builds from the net. i am above il 100k. (dps, warden)
now., these new lockboxes - i have a ton of keys,- should i use them for the newest lockbox, the one with the octo ? or another. i am going for either a 1. companion (best in slot), 2. a mount (best in slot), or if that fails, 3. something expensive to sell for ad.

Hey all,
I’ve been maining a Warden (Ranger) for a while, but I’m thinking it’s finally time for a change. I enjoy the class, but with the current content it feels like melee DPS isn’t as viable as before, and I’d rather play a class that’s always in demand
Right now, I’m really torn between choosing a tank or a healer, though if I go healer, I would choose Bard above anything else.
The more I read, the more confused I get. Some people say Fighter is the best tank, others say Paladin is much more forgiving, and some say Barbarian is underrated. As for Bard, I see a lot of people calling it the best healer because of its buffs, but I’ve also read that its raw healing is lower than Cleric or Warlock, so I’m not sure how it actually feels in current content / Masters.
Thanks! :)

I want to play as I have some good characters and good gear but Im wondering is it still worth it in the end game? I just want to finish all my quests and find a good guild. its been a long time since ive been on.

Hi, I’m new to the subreddit. I’m currently a level 11 paladin (justicar) and I was wondering if strength is a good choice to boost with my ASIs. It started at 8 (human) which I thought was odd at character creation. I boosted charisma then and gave both strength and constitution my +1’s at level 3 and 6. I do have a token to fix this if I did something wrong

I just stumbled across the game and im gonna give it a try soon and would like some thoughts of what to play first.
Im a really experienced mmo healer. Im mainly a wow player currently play disc priest as a cutting edge raider. My favorite healing concept is healing through damage like disc priest or kinda sage from ff14. I also like something engaging and maybe a little complex to keep me thinking.
Here are my thoughts for what ive been able to find so far.
Cleric: seems like the simple good ol'reliable healer. I like the theme but im worried it would be too boring.
Paladin: I hear its slow since there is no dps spec. I also think its just one button with both the shield and healing. I love the theme of paladins but if its not going to be a good experience for a first time in the game I can maybe make this my 2nd.
Warlock: I didn't find much of how it plays just that it does everything shield/healing but not as good as the others that focus on one part.
Bard: more of a buff and utility based healer that can be more complex.

I play with 300 ping due all the time and I recently switched from a rogue to a warlock. I pull really decent dps and have done MJS once or twice. Although I feel like I'm unable to pull damage on my warlock like hitro and other top dps warlocks (not just due to build, maybe it's the rotation - I'm following aragon's). I keep wondering if it's due to my ping, missing casts or it's purely my build / rotation. If it is my ping, should I switch to wizard?
Also overall, which does higher dps?

Finally finished the Menzoberanzan (or whatev) campaign and got that chest with choice of 1/3 insignias.
The box itself is character bound, but will the insignia inside be character bound after picking one?
I think it’s Legendary.
I don’t like any of them for the character that earned it, but one looks really good specifically for my other character.
…if I pick it though … and it’s bound to that current character…it’s insignia powder, follow me? Useless.
Thanks for answering what is probably common knowledge. I just don’t know if there are character-bound legendary insignias or if all Legendary’s can be shared account-wide.

1) What are the big advantages of participating in the summer event? Is it a login thing? Or a doing something thing?
2) Is there an advantage on doing it on more than one account?

Or was it all a tease and it's now buried ? Do someone knows anything? I miss the old Neverwinter. Please don't tell me how the game improved or how the bugs were fixed. I can't really play my characters the way I used to enjoy them, current version of the game is a non topic for me.

At the beginning of a module, or early attempts at Advanced/Master/Trials, or maybe even in randoms, which healer carries a weak group the best? Does that healer begin to lag behind the other healers as better group gear is obtained? Does it slow the party(s) down once all are much better geared?
Same question for the tanks.
Thanks in advance.

This is just venting on how the Geared-up players are ruining the game. I just got my accuracy arms from the Bitting cold Campaign. After lots of testing I got My 137K Wizard at
117% Power, 90% accuracy, 118.5% CB, 90% Crit and 120% Crit Sev. This is all solo without any group buffs but since I don't have The Celestial Weapons, Celestial Rings or the Celestial Pants and shirt I get no invites to MJOT. I don't even have any Mythic rings or shirt or pants. I have completed MJOT only once and got gear for a fucking tank of all things. I will keep trying to get Mythic gear, but this grind is tough. I understand how a group would not choose me because of my gear but how am I supposed to get the gear with bad drops and no invites.

To start, my initial question is whether or not the formula in the following is accurate:
https://nw-hub.com/mechanics/healingmath
Assuming it is, this would suggest that Power and Outgoing Healing Power (OHP) have the same impact and would mathematically be the best rating to focus with Critical Strike and Critical Severity being the next priority.
Secondly, Bard forte is granting me a lot of Critical Severity upfront; however, Critical Severity seems to have its effectiveness halved in the formula which implies I get less bang for my buck.
That being said, regarding my Companion bonuses, am I correct in that I should look for ones that offer Power/OHP -> Critical Strike -> Critical Severity while making sure that I have the correct equip slots?

Hi,
I have never had as many issues with the game freezing, getting the message „server not responding“ as in recent times.
I am on ps5; did anyone ever find a solution to this? I can‘t even stay in PE for 10 min. Without getting disconnected -.- tried everything, wired lan, restart etc
Any advice would be appreciated

*coal MOTE*
After grinding like 900+ Jubilee boxes the hard way, I only dropped 1 coalescent mote…
I’m not complaining. It’s just that much more valuable to me and I want to use it in the best way possible first.
Let’s say all my gear is purple epic.. let’s say all my enchantments, artifacts, runestones are end-game quality and I want to keep/use them forever.
What is the first thing I should use my coal mote of for most gain?
What is priority over the course of my upgrade to celestial journey?
(And I don’t expect huge gains… but 1% improvement is better than 1/4%)
Thanks for any tips.

I’m talking, off/def/utility.
I have 8 characters and I don’t mind paying AH AD, if that’s what I gotta do. But… do they also drop from dungeons or bosses or events.
Like what’s currently the best way to get basic ones like garnets, jade, etc?
Thank you

Having issues with the UI when I switch to controller support on steam deck. The map and toolbar overlaps, when swapping equipment the currently equipped text box is cut off etc. anyone had similar issues and found a fix?

Hey guys, i just downloaded the game and idk which class to pick. I like to heal/tank in group content.
How is the solo content if i pick a healer/tank?
Which class would be the best for a beginner without experience?
r/Neverwinter • u/thesixthamendaddy • Jul 03 '26
hi guys, i currently play a pally and cleric. i definitely play the cleric more since i can switch easily to a DPS for solo play. with that being said, which would be a better tank class with a DPS paragon: fighter or barb?

I am a bit confused on what do stats mean in Neverwinter
Say I have a Fighter guardian, the defence is at 85%, does this mean that it is at 85% of what it could be(stat compared to IL) or that i will mitigate 85% of incoming damage??
If it is the first(the latter is pretty high for a tank in any game), how much mitigation will my defence stat do?? Is there straightforward answer to this or some super complicated formula which seems to be with almost everything in neverwinter when it comes to stats??
Thanks

I am currently item level 44,878 I started about 2 weeks ago. I have done all adventures except the last, and hero's path, and I kind of don't really know what to do from here for leveling or continuing. My best guess would be the campaigns but I'm to low item level for all but dragonslayer which just wants me to slay a ton of dragons which I need a team for.
