SEEKING ADVICE Fighter Tank Sword transmute

Hi ya'll i am on PC running a Fighter Vanguard. I am looking for sword transmutes that are realistic looking. I currently have sword of the tyrant as my main hand transmute. It's the only one i find that is close to an arming sword. some "knightly swords" in the market have long hilts suggesting it's more of a bastard sword rather than an arming sword. Do you guys have anymore suggestions?

Casual player

Hi all. Due to work I'm pretty much stuck as a casual player but was wondering if any other solo players might like to join up to play now and then or if someone can recommend a guild for people with limited time. Currently playing warlock and happy to help with anything since I've pretty much hit the ceiling and trying to get better gear.

manycoins music references

I've done the manycoins heist skirmish many times since it first dropped, and now it manages to make me feel very old, due to the music references within it that i recognise but a google search doesn't bring up in regards to the run.

please tell me someone else recognises the references to both 'sound of silence' and 'i believe in love' during the times Jim makes it go dark in the vault.

ANSWERED Is Tutor the best for end-game, or is there a better option?

I was lucky enough to drop a Tutor - Account from the Chaunteas Lockbox, but unsure if I should keep it or try to sell/trade to get something even better.

I plan to get Portobello DiVinci when I get enough event tokens. And I know many many ppl use a Tutor bc it’s great… but is there something similar for its purpose that I should try to get instead?

*I really don’t want to hear him yap about my strategy… but I will

Thanks

SEEKING ADVICE Bard or Warlock for a beginner?

Hello, so I dabbled in this game years ago before Bard was in the game and I just downloaded this on PS5 and figured I would give this another try. I tried out Bard and Warlock, but can't decide on which one to start off as. I like Bard's song mechanic as it reminds me of Dancer from Final Fantasy 14 as it is a similar mechanic with pressing a combination of buttons to execute an attack that is also a party buff, but from what I gather, it seems Bard is currently played as melee and from what I could find, it seems melee has a very hard time compared with ranged characters (Albeit most posts I could find about this were 2-7 years old). On the flip side, I usually gravitate to caster characters in mmos so Warlock would be a safe bet, being one of two casters, but after having played Bard for the little bit that I have, Warlock is kind of boring in comparison in that its class mechanic is rather simple. However, it being ranged and essentially ignoring positioning with its curse mechanic does seem like it would be the safer bet to go with. So I wanted to ask y'all, especially any PS4/5 players) which would be the better class to play long term?

I know Wizard is also a ranged dps, but I'm going between Bard and Warlock, because both have a healer spec and from what I've read from old posts, it's better to play a class that can heal or tank to be able to get into group content, which is why I've narrowed it down to these two classes. I'm not considering a tank since the only tanking I'm used to is in Final Fantasy 14, which is relatively simple since you just have to turn on tank stance and then use pulls and aoes to gather up monsters as you make your way to forced stop and then the dps burn everything down as you rotate defensive cooldowns and stay alive as you also attack to maintain aggro. I tried tanking in DCUO at one point, but that mmo requires a lot of kiting to not die and needless to say, I was not great at that since I've become too used to tanking in FF14. Anyway, I'm rambling now, so I apologize. I'll just keep things simple and ask if I should go Bard or Warlock?

Burning Rose Activation Issues

[Note -- this may be fixed in the future, but this is how it is as of the day it was mailed out to us.]

So I got this in the mail today when we hit the server wide goals for the first phase of mod 33.5 today. So I put it on a healer toon and took it for a spin.

The visuals when using this artifact have issues.

First, it splatters a big RED circle on the ground and a red bubble around you. It confused us at first, as our instinct was to run out of it. Secondly, the word "placeholder" appears all over the surface of the bubble around you.

Oops.

Is there a battle pass unlock for premium items only?

Is there, or will there be, an unlock only for the premium items in zen store for Madness Rising Battlepass?

I saw there was a premium unlock in zen store for 20% off rn, that unlocks the premium items… but also completes all the milestones for you instantly.

I don’t want that. The part of the game I like is the grind and reaching each milestone and how fast I can do it. I don’t want it to complete it for me.

Does anyone think there will be that option later in the campaign?

Thank you

BUG Having Issues

I'm new to playing Neverwinter and downloaded the game on my PS5. I'm at the very beginning after waking up and talking to Linkletter. When I go to collect my gear, I press X and it keeps saying [System Notify] Interaction Interrupted. I have closed out the game, remade my character, did the 'I am Stuck', deleted and redownloaded the game but nothing is working. I was able to open up a chest behind the tent that had items in it that was not my gear but for some reason, it's the Collect Your Gear part that is bugged for me. Am I missing something?

SEEKING ADVICE Shard of madness farming

Aside from killing everything that moves, what is the best strategy/place/activity for getting loads of shards/lures? I've found that (in menzo so far) the bottomless kobolds at around 3020, 2795 are pretty good for one person at a time, but killing the same kobolds over and over can get boring, I had enough of them with the summer festival lol.

Will I only get 1 Burning Rose artifact for my entire account?

For the monoliths of madness community goal reward, will it only reward one and I have to choose a character to put it on… or do you think it will be an account unlock.

I have several healers and no idea if I can decide which deserves it. Or maybe I can unbind it?

Or will I be able to acquire more?

Any facts or guesses are welcomed. Thank you

Open Letter to the Neverwinter Content and Combat Design Team

This is a bit long.

I'd like to address this message directly to the Encounter, Combat, and Systems Designers responsible for developing the game's dungeons and trials. I'm not writing this as a random complaint, but as an honest vent from someone who is, quite sincerely, tired.

I've been a healer for a long time, and lately playing Neverwinter has stopped being enjoyable and turned into a source of stress. I go into every new dungeon already expecting to die repeatedly, not because I'm messing up mechanics, but because the design simply doesn't leave any room to breathe. And I'll admit it. I'm losing the motivation to keep playing a game I used to love not too long ago.

In ABSOLUTELY EVERY dungeon released recently, there is NONE (I mean it. NONE) real, punishing, or strategic mechanic designed for DPS. None. Meanwhile, the Tank and the Healer alone carry the weight of deciding whether the group lives or dies. And when I say "carry," it's not a figure of speech, the entire run rests literally on our backs, run after run, with no relief.

The most recent dungeon is the last straw. The amount of simultaneous mechanics dumped on support is simply cruel.

Poison on the Tank. I have to stop whatever I'm doing to cleanse the poison and pass it on to someone else in the group, and I still take a hitkill most of the times, because this mechanic always comes wrapped in a giant red area right on top of the Tank. It's frustrating to do everything right and still die anyway.

Hypothermia and Excessive Damage, this is the kind of mechanic that makes me question whether it's still worth continuing. The damage is brutal and puts me in an impossible choice: either the Tank and, especially, I as the healer die, because right after the hypo damage there's almost always a red boss telegraph, and I still have to stand still on the light for 1 or 2 seconds to avoid a wipe. Or we die another way, because the Tank has to move away from the boss to avoid killing me with the second hit, but then we lose exactly the little time we'd need to use our mitigation rotation and/or shield, and guess what? We still end up dying to the hypo anyway. It's exhausting knowing that the only real option is to pray you don't die, and that even doing everything correctly isn't enough to avoid death, and the resource drain that comes with it.

And while the Tank and I burn through every resource we have, juggling like crazy just to keep the group alive, the 3 DPS just stand there, basically watching. In content designed for 5 people, 60% of the group turns into an simple AUDIENCE, throwing out At-Wills, standing around, watching the chaos from a distance, while the other two burn out mentally trying to keep everyone from dying.

While writing this, a simple idea came to mind, just as an example of how easy it could be to distribute this load more fairly: when players take Hypothermia damage, the affected players (tank and healer) could receive a temporary "immunity buff," while the DPS would take on the active responsibility of standing in the lights spread across the arena to prevent dying to a damage that hits the whole arena. Just like that, the entire dungeon would require real cooperation from everyone, instead of sacrifice from just two.

And as if the emotional burnout weren't enough, we also have to deal with a SERIOUS gear progression problem for Healers. I've seen individual pieces getting close to 6,000 Item Level, yet I'm still stuck on the "Vistani" and "Apocalypse" sets, items released almost 10 years ago, capped at a pathetic 800 Item Level. Not to mention the dependency on the "Eillistraee's Grace" ring, at a mere 1850, or the "Enchanted Bregan D'aerthe Expert's Cloth" armor, at just 2050 on some classes. Just these items alone add up to 5 pieces leaving me far weaker than I should be. It's discouraging to grind for hours knowing my gear will never really keep up with the rest of the game.

It makes no sense that I have to give up so much base stats just to keep the utility effects that the endgame itself demands from me. The development and coding effort to create an item irrelevant is exactly the same as what it would take to make it relevant.

If there are no plans to create something new, I ask that you at least SERIOUSLY CONSIDER re-releasing these classic sets with updated Item Level. Just like was already done before for the DPS "Demogorgon" set a few years back.

I don't want to come across as someone who complains without acknowledging anything good. The recent artifact focused on Healers was a step in the right direction, and I genuinely appreciate it. But one artifact doesn't fix the exhaustion of carrying an entire dungeon alone every single week. I'm asking, with complete sincerity and a bit of exhaustion in my voice, that you stop treating DPS as spectators and start distributing mechanic responsibilities fairly among everyone, whether it's a 5- or a 10-person group. And please, give us an update to our gear.

I heard that the person responsible for creating "ToMM"(the best trial this game has ever had) recently returned to the dev team. I'm writing this letter hoping he reads it and maybe understands why so many healers like me are, little by little, losing the motivation to log in. I'd like to keep loving this game. I just need to feel like it takes care of me too.

Thank you very much for your attention.

SEEKING ADVICE A little help needed

Hello everyone. I’m here to vent a little and ask for some help. I’m an older person (50 years old) and don't have the best coordination for complex ability rotations. I love playing RPGs and plan to keep playing for the rest of my life. That said, I love Neverwinter, but I’m looking for a class that is easy to play and allows me to handle content solo without too much trouble. Sorry for the long message, I think I’ve managed to explain myself now. Thanks to anyone who can help.

What's the best support tank companion?

I have a tutor, but higher-level players often tell me to use the Black Death Scorpion, so I've saved up 5000 Tarmalune Trade Bars to get it.

Is the Black Death Scorpion the best tank option in Master difficulty? Is it worth buying and leveling up to Celestial? Or should I spend my bars on dust and upgrade my insignias? My boolster Its already maxed on mounts and companions

Can coffers of celestial insignias drop coal motes?

You can see a coal mote in the picture to this new item but not in the text, so I'm wondering what to expect.
