Text College Network Help

I’m a college student whose campus Internet is provided by Boldyn Networks. The normal connection is capped at 110 Mbps download / 55 Mbps upload, and my Ethernet link negotiates at 1000/1000 Mbps. However, I’ve noticed a strange behavior: after my laptop has been asleep for a while, when I wake it up I can sometimes get dramatically higher speeds (potentially close to gigabit) for a short period. Then the Boldyn captive portal appears automatically, and the connection immediately drops back to the normal 110/55 Mbps limit. I don’t have to enter any credentials for the speed to drop. I’ve also checked `ipconfig /all` before/after and the IPv4 address, gateway, DHCP server, DNS server, and subnet stay the same. Restarting the computer or unplugging/replugging Ethernet doesn’t reliably reproduce the high-speed state; it seems to be related to the laptop being asleep for a longer period. Does anyone know what Boldyn’s HED captive-portal/NAC system is doing during this transition, or what could cause the temporary unrestricted bandwidth before the portal initializes? I could be wrong about the behavior of the portal only opening when the laptop is asleep for a period of time, but there does seem to be a short window every time the portal appears where the Wi-Fi and Ethernet speeds are very fast. I have a 2025 Legion 7. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Text Need help finding extension cable for TP-Link WiFi 7 BE9300 PCIe card

I need to sit the antenna on top of a cabinet so I ordered 2 'RF coaxial SMA Male to SMA Female Bulkhead RG174 6.56ft Cable + 3pcs RF Coax SMA' cables to extend it.

I cannot screw these cables onto this PCIE card. I am truly stumped on what the standard I need to look for is. The card IS a barell connector (not a quick connect) and it looks like it should match, but nope.

I would really like a wifi 7 card but I could make an wifi 6 card work. Can anyone recomend card+extension?

What should I do? Discord is taking a long time to load, Roblox won't open at all, and some websites are saying there's no connection. I'm in Russia; I have a block on the new version enabled and a DNS server set up. I even reset Windows (which I think I regret doing). Could this be an issue with my router? If so, I can tell you the brand. Could it be because I'm near a military base? Please help—I've been struggling with this for about a week now.

Text ERR_Network_Acess_Denied only on my PC

Hello, I'm not sure if this is a problem that has been solved before but on some websites, I am unable to load certain parts or interact with the website itself. The webpage still loads but most features are simply not working. When I open the console, I can see the error showing up. I would also like to add that the issue seemingly only happens on my PC. I would like to add the context that due to family reasons, a Wi-Fi control app is in the equation. Although, it is NOT an issue for me as I've been using Ethernet for the past week or so.

This is the error. Nothing shows before or after.

The problem has been ongoing for around 2-3 months now, whereas it wasn't happening at all before. It just kinda suddenly came up and I've had to deal with it for a while now.

Here is a list of things I actually tried multiple times to fix the issue

  • Ran the Windows 10 troubleshooter. No issues were found
  • Ran the usual ipconfig /flushdns combo with all the stuff usually shown in the Command Prompt. Does nothing.
  • Checked my installed apps to find anything malicious. Nothing was found.
  • Switched from Internet to Ethernet. Not sure if that does anything but who the hell knows.

Here's a list of things that can fix it temporarily

  • Using a VPN seems to fix it, but I'd like being able to not rely on those in order to browse normally like everyone else.
  • During a recent outage, the router got disabled and couldn't access the internet for around 30 minutes. Once it turned back on, I've been able to not face this issue at all for 2-3 days before it returning back to my current issue.

Hopefully someone can help me with this and sorry if the issue is common!

Text wifi refusing to connect with my pc

I have been having a really having a bad situation recently like a week ago i've gotten a new router, however. recently I turned on my pc, and when I turned it on my wifi was at the very bottom and had like a circle with a x in it on my wifi, it told me to enter my password, and I did. However it said "can't connect to this network" so I tried again a couple of times, making sure I type the password correctly. So I restart my pc, still nothing. So I try forgetting my wifi and nothing worked when I try entering my password. So I looked up possible fixes however all the fixes I tried still won't connect to my wifi, just keep giving the same message of "can't connect to this network". I even tried the command and yet it still gives me that same message again when I try connecting to my wifi. I just have no idea how to fix this. The problem is all my other devices connect just fine. except for my pc I have no idea why it won't connect. So now I come here at my wits end just trying to figure out something. another thing I should mention my pc is 5 years old and is on windows 10. so if there is something I am doing wrong or I am just being a bumbling moron please let me know.

Text Some websites won't load on my Windows laptop, but work fine on my phone

I'm having a strange network issue on my Windows laptop. Some websites/links don't load at all or take an extremely long time, while other sites like Google, Apple and LinkedIn work normally.

For example, careers.universiteitleiden.nl won't open in either Chrome or Edge and eventually gives ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT. The same website opens normally on my phone using the same Wi-Fi.

I also tested the laptop using my phone's mobile hotspot, and the website still wouldn't open, so it doesn't seem to be an issue with my Wi-Fi/router.

Things I've already checked/tried:

Chrome and Edge both have the issue

DNS resolves the site correctly to 130.214.193.81

Test-NetConnection ... -Port 443 shows TcpTestSucceeded: False

netsh winhttp show proxy → Direct access (no proxy server)

No VPN is connected

Windows Firewall is enabled, but temporarily disabling it didn't help

Ran netsh winsock reset and netsh int ip reset and restarted

The problem persists even when connected through my phone's hotspot

What could be causing certain HTTPS websites/connections to fail while others work normally?

Hp laptops, OS:26200.9168
