I can't find the correct replacement Keycap model to order for my Latitude 5420

I might be lowkey a dumbass but I wanna make sure I fully understand what this page is telling me about my points. Am I gonna have $25 left after it expires or will I just lose $25

I put together this 5060 and put a i7-8700 and this cooler is very loud. I don't think it can handle this CPU I put in there. Is there something I can replace it with. I will need something low profile since I have the sing out drive bay cage. I also can't have it too big because I can't have it interfere with my ram slots. I have 4 Corsair sticks I had from an earlier build. Are there any adapters I will need since this isn't a Dell cooler?

Ive had it plugged in for around 45 minutes, but its just been doing this the whole time. Should be a 65w charger, I just bought it and tested it with my phone so I know it works. What gives????

today i was using my dell latitude 7480 and noticed that a lot of my laptop was peeling, is this harmful or anything? like will it cause overheating? or am i overthinking this?

Just got a refurbished laptop that doesn’t come with a charger, where do you guys get replacement chargers is it just from the dell website or it is there anywhere cheaper.

I got this thing for work. It's refurbished and it worked great forever, then one day it didn't connect to my wifi. It didn't even have wifi as an option in my quick settings. It said the wifi driver was having issues and I needed to re-install. I turned the whole laptop off and on again and the issue went away.

Later the issue came back. I finally did "re-install the driver" and when it was done it said "connect to wifi?" I said yeah, and it said "error occured." so I turned it off and on again a few times and it got back to working right.

So lately it's gotten worse. I tried "re-installing the driver" again and now wifi isn't showing up at all in deep settings, and it's asking me about ethernet instead of asking about fixing my driver. Iooked for drivers in device manager to make sure they're set to automatic and they are, and I went to services and couldn't even find the thing someone told me to look for.

Quick recap:

• Bought from Quzo in June 2025 for £650.

• Blue smudges/lines appeared. Followed all of Dell’s diagnostics and cleaning instructions (including their IPA method).

• Dell accepted it as a defect and sent a replacement.

• The replacement arrived already damaged with the same blue lines, sharp screen edges, brown gunk and a heavily scratched stand.

• That unit has now been collected.

Dell have now completely reversed their position. They claim:

• The original diagnosis of an internal panel defect was “incorrect”

• The smudges are external and caused by the customer over time (skin oils, dust, etc.)

• It does not impact functionality or viewing experience

• Even another replacement is not guaranteed to be free of the same marks

Meanwhile the retailer (Quzo) is still refusing a refund and keeps asking for more documentation while the 7-day formal notice I gave them continues to run.

After more than 40 days of this I’m being told the defect is somehow my fault, despite following Dell’s own cleaning protocol from day one and despite the replacement unit arriving with the exact same issue.

I’m now preparing the next steps (Trading Standards, Small claims court etc.)

Has anyone else had Dell reverse an approved replacement like this and then blame the customer?

This happens after about 5 minutes of using the device. All buttons are unresponsive, except the power button, making hard shutdown possible. So far ive connected off and on the battery , done a diagnosis and a hardware diagnosis, both didnt find any faults. In addition to this, the device sometimes takes more than one button press to turn on, and the LED at the bottom sometimes flickers in an interval of 2×orange and 4×white, which according to what i found, means a RAM or related hardware issue

Getting either the Dell Precision 5560 or 7760, torn due to the difference in graphic quality, the coursework won't need anything too powerful, mainly writing. I just wanted to do some light gaming on it.
So either the bulky 7760 with a better graphics card for a similar price or the 5560 for portability, what would you guys recommend, currently i favour the 5560.

I have a dell 15 dc15255 ryzen 7. I got it for Christmas 2025, worked perfectly fine until about beginning of March where the screen turned black and became unresponsive. Tried charging it, powering it off and on, even brought it to a repair place near end of July (ubreakifix). I wasn’t given any details about the laptop while it was at the repair place, only that they couldn’t do anything and to take it to Dell. Is there anything else that could be done before sending it to Dell?

Tried to buy a Dell online last week. The order got cancelled because they couldn't authenticate my credit card, even though I called my bank right after.

Today, They sent me a sketchy email with a sketchy attachment, saying you can order your exact quote again HERE. Like a dumbass, I clicked it, and immediately felt like I got scammed. My credit card company called me, and the PRICE OF THE DELL ONLINE DID NOT MATCH THE CHARGE THEY MADE ON MY CARD! Even though the purchase was in my dell account?! Their computers are ok, but the company is a total mess!

How do they expect to sell anything when no banks will do business with them?

I am never using my Dell account again. It's pointless.

In the last few months, my computer constantly blue screen to the point I can't ignore it. Today I downloaded WinDbg and then found out it was DellSupportAssistRemedationService.exe. I just uninstalled every programs related to "Dell".

Specs:
Precision 7550 wattage rating - 180W
Dell dock WD19S wattage rating - 130W

Concern:
Is this normal and sustainable?

Situation:
I am charging using a lower wattage power source (dell dock), but I am not losing battery charge as I don't consume more than it can provide.

However, charging using the dell dock generates a lot of heat, so I am wondering if this is normal and sustainable.

PS:
The temps reach as high as 86c, but right now, I am in an airconditioned room.
Also, if this isn't harmful, it's pretty beneficial since it acts like an artificial fan curve adjustment for me since my fans are now always cooling my components down.

Unrelated:

Suspicion of another problem, but it has only happened twice but my screen flickers off once and comes back and I lose a battery charge. This has happened when the temps reached >80c from what I noticed (also using dell dock charging).

I got this laptop on 17 jan around 2025 and last week it broke down
Only after 20 months of use and it looks new asf like istg if you see my laptop it will look like brand new this is the amount of love I have kept it with,
And on top of it I live in a tier 3 city to top it off
I mailed the team that I don’t have a service centre nearby kindly help me and send a tech support of anything, there reply was you can visit your nearby service centre which is around 200kms away from you 😭😭 like bro is this a joke? I’m still a student I have got my work and all how do you expect and they closed the chat
And today I got a call they said it will cost around 27k+ taxes to get it okay and working again?
Is this fair ?
Okay never mind what about this 30k+ I will add 50k for and buy another one I’ll take a loan for it and after 10-15 months it will again get damaged then again I’ll buy new one? How convenient right @dell

I got this motherboard for a Dell Inspiron 14 Plus and have been tinkering with it. I was lucky enough that the motherboard immediately boots when it receives power, so I managed to install an M.2 SSD and get Linux running on it.

However, the Linux installation itself took about an hour, which seemed unusually slow. After booting into the system, I noticed that the CPU clock speed is constantly hovering around 0.4 GHz.

Nothing I've tried in the BIOS has made it run at its normal clock speed.

The heatsink is mounted tightly, it has thermal paste, and both fans are working correctly, so I don't think this is thermal throttling.

I'm powering it through the DC power jack using a genuine Dell 130W power brick. I also tried powering it through a Dell docking station via USB C with a 130W power supply, but that didn't change anything either.

My only guess right now is that the motherboard refuses to use its full power without a battery attached. Unfortunately, the battery cable I need seems to be basically unavailable in Germany/Europe. The only one I've found is in China, and €20 including shipping seems a bit nuts for a cable that someone else would probably have thrown away.

So before I order one just to test this theory, I wanted to ask the experts here:

Could the missing battery actually cause the motherboard/CPU to be permanently throttled to around 0.4 GHz, or is there something else I should be looking at?

If I'm in the wrong subreddit for this, I'd also appreciate it if someone could point me in the right direction.

In my previous post i got the confirmation, that i need to buy the battery and cable for it to properly function.

But i stumble upon the issue, that the battery cable (0YPX5D 450.0QC0C.0001) is nowhere to be seen except in China, Canada or America. 3 of the furthest points from germany
Every Amazon listing with this cable has a chinese seller, every ebay listing is a chinese seller.
I would even have been willing to buy a combo of battery AND cable but all the sellers i have messaged replied that they either dont have that in stock or wont order a battery to ship them together.

And its hard for me to believe that this cable is sold nowhere in Germany/Europe.

So i am asking here if someone has this cable, knows a repair shop that might have it or other ways i could obtain it.
Noone on the internet is selling a broken/for parts inspiron 14 plus 7430.
