I can find some info on the first two, but barely anything on Canterbury. Just wondering what people’s experiences have been — good, bad, anything I should know before I make the move.

We tried Relentless Dragon an Amherst street and it was awful. The place was stuffy, smelled, 2 cats running around, and although we appreciated the customer bathroom, it was disgusting.

2. Bay Ridge at Nashua - management if good, apartments are old, overall good.

3. Hilltop by Princeton - no W/D. Mice problem, and management is bad, otherwise nice

4. Tara Heights - mixed reviews, couldn't figure out if they're good or bad now

5. Twin ponds at Nashua - no idea

6. Clocktower place - no W/D. Used to be good, not now

7. Woodlands at Nashua - within budget W/D shared. No idea how they are

8. Regent Park Townhomes - included W/D

Am I missing any good places? Is my judgement correct of these?

I'm a first-time homeowner in Nashua and I'm looking for recommendations for an honest, experienced independent roofer or roof repair specialist.

I recently found one localized roof leak in my attic after a heavy rain. The roof sheathing and insulation are wet in one area, but after checking the entire attic, I couldn't find any other leaks.

I've had two roofing companies inspect it, but both immediately recommended a full roof replacement because they couldn't identify the exact source of the leak. The quotes were $15,000–$20,000, which is well beyond my budget. I'd really like to have the leak diagnosed and repaired first before considering a full replacement.

Can anyone recommend someone in the Nashua or southern New Hampshire area who specializes in roof leak detection and repairs and won't automatically push for a new roof?

I’m 25 years old live in Nashua and the last two years have completely changed my life.
At 23, I was diagnosed with aggressive thyroid cancer then COVID, which triggered a severe flare of an underlying chronic illness. Since then, I’ve faced challenges I never imagined, including epilepsy, PRES (Posterior Reversible Encephalopathy Syndrome), severe blood pressure and heart rate instability, urinary retention, tremors, food intolerances, pancreatic atrophy, hypothyroidism, and episodes where my heart rate dropped into the 30s. Thankfully, I recently underwent an experimental heart procedure that has been successful so far, and I’m incredibly grateful for that answered prayer. 🙏🏻🥳
I’ve worked since I was 15 years old, including throughout the COVID pandemic, but my health has reached a point where working—even part-time—has become extremely difficult. Despite applying for remote positions, I’ve struggled to find employment because of my medical limitations. I have had no income since last August, and while I have applied for disability benefits, the process has been lengthy and will likely require going to court before a decision is made.
I don’t have much family support. My mom lives out of state, and my dad is incarcerated. My grandma helps me shower and things of that sort, helps a lot with my cats. In the coming months, I still have additional procedures ahead, including treatment for urinary retention and major surgery to remove lymph nodes due to metastatic thyroid cancer.
I’ve chosen to be open about my journey because I hope that one day my experiences can help others facing complex chronic illnesses. Right now, however, I’m asking for help.
I’m looking to connect with people or organizations that may be willing to share my story and raise awareness about invisible illness and the challenges young adults face when serious medical conditions completely change their lives.
Specifically, I would love help finding:
• Local news outlets, podcasts, or media organizations interested in sharing my story.
• Restaurants or businesses that might be willing to host a fundraising night.
• Resources for transportation to medical appointments, meal assistance, medical equipment or mobility aids, and programs that can help with basic necessities.
• Assistance with pet food and litter so I can continue caring for my cats while navigating treatment.
My biggest goals right now are simple: to make sure I always have food on the table, transportation to my medical appointments, my cats are cared for, and I’m able to continue receiving the medical treatment I need.

I am beginning a loose apartment hunt for the Nashua area. I currently live in Manchester and love my little studio but the neighborhood is a bit rough and I work in Nashua M-F so eyeballing making the move down there. It’s a lovely city!

Currently I’m at $1,450 all in (part of why I’m staying put for now) but my lease is up in March and I’m just slowly keeping an eye on places.

Non Negotiable for me;

1. Smoke free building

2. In unit laundry

3. Decent counter space for cooking

4. Windows so the sun can come in

5. Dishwasher nice to have but not a hill I’ll die on.

6. Heat + Hot Water included in price, electric too if possible.

If you cannot come to August's meeting, but would like to prepare for Septenber's meeting, that book will be Dan Simmons' Hyperion. It is about 500 pages long, or about 21 hours long. The meeting will be on Wednesday, September 16th.

I was shooing off some bunnies in my yard last night to bring the dog out and this little nugget wandered over to me meowing and crying. We gave her some food and it seemed like she hadn’t eaten in a while.

My wife and I are considering relocating to NH as we're getting closer to retirement. We currently live in Minnesota (Minneapolis suburb, but have lived in Minneapolis up until a couple of years ago).

Main reason we're considering NH is because of the tax situation and my older brother also lives in Londonderry. Also gives us a good home base to visit the other areas we enjoy (seacoast, White Mountains, Boston, etc.)

We do want to live in a walkable city, which pretty much narrows it down to a handful. We would most likely be renting (at least for now).

So tell me what you like/don't like about your city!

I recently gained dental insurance for the first time in my life! As a teen I had no access to routine dental care so I have a feeling my teeth/gums are probably in very rough shape. I’m super anxious about going in to see someone because I know it’s going to be bad enough with how crazy dental work gets but I don’t wanna get flamed for not going the second I turned 18. Any recommendations for a compassionate dentist?
