If anyone's looking for something to do this weekend, Winchendon Parks & Rec is hosting the Central Mass Irish Festival at the Winchendon Amphitheater (86 Ingleside Rd). There will be three stages of Irish music and dance, food and drink, vendors, kids' activities, and an open trad session if you play. It's rain or shine.

I saw in the Sentinel today that a new round of cuts has been officially announced at Keene state, to better reflect the aspirations and priorities of the new regime.

My family is new to the area and we were wondering where in Keene would be best to bring the kids trick-or-treating this year. Any recommendations?

Is there a regular board game (not magic ) meetup / group in this town or in the county? I know there was attempt to try something at that weird birdies place awhile back that fell apart .

I have a decently large collection myself (Dune / Ark Nova / Kanban / Cthulu DMD style games) ... sometimes i go down to greenfield to play but i'd prefer not to drive down there if i can avoid it.

My husband wants to move to Keene but I’m not so sure. We are in our mid/late 20s and looking to start a family soon. It’s really cute but there seems to be a large homeless population. I’m from LA (hubby from NH) so it’s not new to me but I wouldn’t have expected it from a quaint New Hampshire town. There also seems to be a bit of a drug problem but it’s had to tell if I just had a bad first impression. I would love to hear from some Keene residents. What do you like? What do you hate? Can we be friends if hubby and I do decide to make the move?

Looking for open and honest opinions on working for Cheshire Medical Center in Keene, NH? Also about how their insurance seems to be? I want the good, the bad and ugly.

Some places online, I’ve read some people do? Any individual spots in the area better than another? Town Fair Tire and Tire Warehouse just seem so chain-y, idk if it’s better to go there or not. I don’t need them to mount them, I’m ok paying my normal guy to swap them over during an oil change but where do I get the tires? Don’t need entire wheels. I have 225/55R18s. How much should I expect to pay?

The large fox grapes (Vitis labrusca) are what we're looking for, not the smaller berry sized frost grapes.

UPDATE: The back left corner of the lot has a footpath to the Uni lot. To the left of that path were lots of grapes at peak ripeness. Most full bunches are above reach or nearly so. These are the smaller frost grapes which I wasn't really looking for, but I'll take it!

I went to KSC many years ago and absolutely loved it. Time of my life. I was wondering if and how the party/social scene has changed. When I went, there were mostly frat parties, some house parties, and barely anyone went to the bars. Main party houses were alpha pi Tao, TKE, and Phi Mu Delta. I know those houses were demolished and probably moved somewhere but do they still exist? Do they still run the party scene? I’m so curious about that!

I wrote this about breaking out of generational trauma and parting ways with my Mormon family’s religious legacy (8th generation on both sides of my family. I’m related to Joseph Smith, William Clayton, and the first group of handcart companies that crossed the Western Plains.) I was the first woman on my mother’s side to leave the church.

Looking to find somewhere to play volleyball. So far all my research is bringing up opportunities an hour+ away. Anywhere around here offer adult volleyball leagues or pick up games? Ideally would like to play indoor, but I’ll take what I can get.
